JOB SUMMARYThe Mgr., Research Programs serves as program manager for clinical research studies, including but not limited to assisting in the development of recruitment goals; participating in the clinical study budget development and negotiation process; supervising a team of clinical research staff, including nurses and coordinators; communication of performance expectations; conducting performance evaluations; and monitors qualify assurance standards, programs, and procedures within the team.

- Develop clinical study budgets and negotiate with sponsors as well as internal departments
- Report findings that occur as part of the audit process and incidental discoveries to the director/administrator for auditing, correction and/or educational purposes.
- Exercise judgment and prepare supporting or correcting documentation regarding Institutional and Federal billing policies.
- Ensure a safe, satisfying and enriching environment for employees and provides a qualified, competent staff
- Defines qualifications and performance expectations for staff positions and re-evaluates over time. Establishes objective scoring criteria to decrease bias during evaluation.
- Assesses the composition of the team and identifies potential deficiencies. Develops and communicates team goals providing appropriate follow-up to assure resolution.

Responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility. Reports directly to the Clinical Director of the unit. This position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Conducts primary care patient interviews and physical examinations. Demonstrates sufficient acumen to recognize problems, ask questions and to contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. Has experience in gathering pertinent clinical data that aid in referral, treatment, or other primary care pathways.

Welcome to the OTO/Pulmonary/ENT service line. Our team covers Otolaryngology, Bronchoscopy, Pulmonary intervention, ENT, Head and neck and plastics. We have 6 rooms on most days and over 18 surgeons throughout all the services. We do robotics, microscopic cases, major complex flap cases for reconstruction from head and neck cancers, cochlear implants, BAHA ear procedures, voice box regeneration and repairs, acoustic neuromas combined with neuro surgeons, plastic free flap cases and many other procedures. Patients come from all over the country to seek our doctor’s knowledge and experience in the most complex procedures. They also do two mission trips a year to other countries. Our mission is to make a difference and our team takes pride in making our patients our priority for successful outcomes.

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you are a vital member of the multi-professional care team, we strive to advance the art and science of patient care, quality, and safety. This is a full-time mid shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week from 3:00 PM - 3:30 AM including weekend and holiday rotation required. This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. - Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.

- Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs over the head.
- Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
- Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.

This full-time position works directly with children and youth as part of a small team of multi-disciplinary professionals providing acute behavioral crisis support in a medical hospital setting. The role focuses on crisis intervention, prevention, and behavioral health support for patients admitted to inpatient units and those receiving care in the Pediatric Emergency Department.The specialist will respond to behavioral events throughout their shift, working with patients who exhibit behavioral challenges, have mental health diagnoses, or experience difficulties adhering to medical care. When not actively responding to crises, the specialist will collaborate with the team to identify patients at risk for behavioral events and provide proactive support to patients, families, and staff to prevent crises.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to learn and implement intervention techniques, respond to feedback, work professionally with families and team members, communicate effectively in written, electronic, and verbal formats, and manage time efficiently to meet all responsibilities.
Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
