Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care for assigned patients within the established standards of evidence-based practice and organizational policy and procedures. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously within the scope of professional standards and the rules and regulations established by the TN and/or VA State Board of Nursing. The RN provides patient care that is appropriate to age and developmental level of assigned patients. The RN appropriately delegates care provision to other members of the nursing care team consistent with role, licensure and scope of practice. Performs nursing assessments and delivers care as an integral part of the care team. Works toward favorable outcomes while delivering safe high-quality healthcare. Accurately reports and documents in the Electronic Medical Record and electronic documentation systems that support the RN's clinical and team member role. He/she has a working knowledge of the nursing process and demonstrates skill in developing and guiding collaborative collegial practice that delivers safe competent care. He/she demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of the diverse cultural backgrounds of our patients and caregivers. The position involves maintaining current clinical knowledge and competency for skills related to the clinical RN role where assigned. Demonstrates the ability to use critical thinking skills in the implementation of all phases of the nursing process. He/she actively participates in patient care quality and performance improvement through data collection and aggregation as assigned. The RN serves as a professional role model as a caregiver, mentor, teacher and resource for students, peers and other providers on the health care team. Must be able to wear a respirator mask and other personal protective apparel as indicated in the provision of patient care.
The competency and practice of point of care testing is under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director and/or designee per regulatory rule #1200-6-3-15 Alternate Site Testing, Section (1)(c), 9 of the Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board Division of Health Related Boards. This practice is a collaborative process with the Laboratory and Nursing leaderships.
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Nursing program required. Must be able to complete job related competencies as deemed necessary to the performance of the RN role. Must have dependable transportation. Must carry current personal collision and liability insurance on any vehicle driven.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active RN licensure from appropriate state. CPR required, ACLS, PALS, NRP required dependent upon area Valid and active driver's license

The mission of the Vanderbilt Hemostasis Treatment Center is to provide the highest quality care for our patients. Such care will include comprehensive care visits, preventive medical services, diagnostic testing, genetic testing and counseling, individual case management, specific treatments as needed, education and training, options for home treatment, and referrals when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- With assistance, prepares and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures and federal regulations
- Prepares and maintains documents required to be maintained and available internally and for regulatory authorities and/or the sponsor prior to, during and after the conduct of a clinical/translational trial. Participates in periodic site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation and research procedures
- Procures equipment and supplies needed to fulfill project requirements
- Records data from source documentation and/or participant interaction onto case report forms (either paper or electronic) with awareness and attention to the requirements for accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Attends to query resolution in a timely manner. Assures research information is collected and stored in a manner that is compliant with regulations/policies and good clinical practice
- Performs packaging and ships study specimens (blood, urine, etc.) to the sponsor or laboratory in accordance with sponsor and shipping guidelines and regulations, maintaining appropriate documentation
- With direction assists with study completion, study closeout and archiving of study files, ensuring completeness and continuity of all study data, performing ongoing checks of clinical/translational data that has been entered on the case report forms (paper or electronic) or in reports
- With supervision, develops and manages study budgets, monitoring efficient invoicing and taking appropriate action to maintain clinical trial billing compliance
- Serves as an advocate for human subjects by establishing and maintaining communication with Investigators, research staff, Sponsors, participants and representatives of professional organizations, participant advocates, and the public responsible for, or concerned about, protections for human participants of research and through ongoing monitoring of trial processes and participants
- Participates in the determination of eligible candidates for study participation, assuring participants fulfill eligibility requirements. With guidance, assesses and evaluates potential participants pertinent medical and historical information to ensure only appropriate subjects are enrolled in clinical/translational trials and remain eligible for continued participation. This clinic provides specialized facial plastic and reconstructive surgical care for patients with a wide range of aesthetic and functional conditions affecting the face and neck. Working within a nationally recognized academic medical center, the provider evaluates and treats concerns such as cosmetic conditions of the nose, ears, and face, facial paralysis, nasal obstruction, scar revision, and synkinesis. The practice offers comprehensive, patient-centered care through collaboration with multidisciplinary specialists, advanced diagnostic technologies, and innovative surgical techniques. These ambulances predominantly focus on interfacility transfers and discharges from Vanderbilt affiliated medical facilities, with the ability to also support non- Vanderbilt facilities.

This position is for a clinic RN in the Hematology Clinic. This RN is responsible for managing message baskets, triaging patients, assisting their provider in clinic, and ensuring patients labs, appointments, and treatments are scheduled and monitored. The PRN requirement is 2-8-or-10-hour shifts per week.
