JOB SUMMARY:Nurses working in PSTAM and 12C apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
UNIT SUMMMARY:
Our combined Pediatric Surgery, Trauma/ Transplant, overflow Medicine (PSTAM), and 12C Safer Units provide comprehensive, compassionate care to pediatric patients ranging from infancy through young adulthood. We serve a diverse patient population with both complex surgical, medical, and behavioral health needs, offering a wide spectrum of treatment modalities.
On the PSTAM side we have 43 beds dedicated to the care of patients undergoing procedures such as pyloric stenosis corrections, spinal fusions, orthopedic surgeries, urology interventions, liver and kidney transplants, cleft palate repairs, burns, etc. Our multidisciplinary teams, include surgical providers, nurse practitioners, social workers, child life specialists, physical and occupational health therapists, and more. The 12C Safer Unit is a dedicated 15-bed acute care pod designed to meet the intricate behavioral needs of pediatric patients. We specialize in caring for children with suicidal ideation, autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and chronic medical conditions requiring ongoing monitoring. Our multidisciplinary team includes professionals with specialized training in behavioral health, supported by psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, behavior analysts, hospitalists, social workers, child life specialists, and more. Together, we create a nurturing and safe environment that promotes healing and growth.
This integrated care model allows our staff to gain broad clinical expertise while delivering individualized, high-quality care tailored to each child’s unique journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
• Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for evidence to answer clinical questions. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. Competently handles multiple assignments often simultaneously by prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units. Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follows up to assure problems and issues are resolved.
• Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Conducts primary care patient interviews and physical examinations. Demonstrates sufficient acumen to recognize problems, ask questions and to contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. Has experience in gathering pertinent clinical data that aid in referral, treatment, or other primary care pathways.

MCJCHV 12C Cohort 10Job Summary:
This part-time position works directly with children and youth as part of a small team of multi-disciplinary professionals providing acute behavioral crisis support in a medical hospital setting. The role focuses on crisis intervention, prevention, and behavioral health support for patients admitted to inpatient units and those receiving care in the Pediatric Emergency Department.The specialist will respond to behavioral events throughout their shift, working with patients who exhibit behavioral challenges, have mental health diagnoses, or experience difficulties adhering to medical care. When not actively responding to crises, the specialist will collaborate with the team to identify patients at risk for behavioral events and provide proactive support to patients, families, and staff to prevent crises.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to learn and implement intervention techniques, respond to feedback, work professionally with families and team members, communicate effectively in written, electronic, and verbal formats, and manage time efficiently to meet all responsibilities.
Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Board-certified pediatric plastic surgeons work alongside multidisciplinary specialists across Monroe Carell in areas such as craniofacial anomalies, hand and upper extremity surgery, fetal surgery, craniosynostosis, burn reconstruction, and facial reconstruction. Vanderbilt Health’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) program provides highly specialized care for patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies. The nationally recognized team partners closely with community obstetric providers to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care for both mother and baby, helping reduce complications and support the best possible outcomes. The program cares for patients with pre-existing medical conditions, pregnancy-related complications, prior pregnancy losses, fetal or placental abnormalities, and other complex maternal or fetal diagnoses. Using a multidisciplinary approach, MFM specialists collaborate with genetic counselors, care coordinators, pediatric subspecialists, and other medical experts to develop individualized treatment plans throughout pregnancy. Vanderbilt Health's Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute (PBPRI) is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our nationally recognized outpatient neuro-rehabilitation program.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly specialized interdisciplinary team dedicated to helping adults maximize independence, function, participation, and quality of life following neurologic injury or disease. More than 80% of the caseload is focused on adult neurorehabilitation, with opportunities to develop expertise in cognitive rehabilitation, vestibular and balance rehabilitation, vision rehabilitation, seating and mobility, and driving rehabilitation.
About the Role
As part of Vanderbilt's collaborative outpatient neuro-rehabilitation team, you will evaluate and treat adults with a variety of neurologic conditions, including:
- Stroke
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Parkinson's Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Concussion

Working closely with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and caregivers, you will play a vital role in helping patients return to meaningful activities at home, in the community, at work, and in leisure pursuits.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat adults with neurologic diagnoses in an outpatient setting.
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on independence, safety, participation, and quality of life.
- Deliver evidence-based neurorehabilitation interventions addressing upper extremity recovery, motor control, coordination, and functional performance.
- Assess and treat cognitive and executive functioning deficits affecting daily life, work, and community participation.
- Evaluate and train activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnosis, prognosis, adaptive strategies, home programs, and community resources.
- Complete timely clinical documentation, evaluations, progress reports, and payer-required documentation.

Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
While working in the Virtual Technician role, you will be assigned as either a Monitor Tech or the vSitter depending upon the staffing needs for your shift. The Monitor Tech provides technical support for the acquisition and interpretation of cardiac tracings needed to diagnose or rule-out cardiac disease in an inpatient population using hardwired or wireless cardiac monitoring equipment.
