Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards..
The person hired into this position will work four 8-hour shifts per week from 3:00p-11:00p for a total of 32 hours per week, to include some weekends.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
We are a 16 bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6. We care for adult patients with diagnoses, including:
• age 55+ and age < 55 with a Geriatric Lifestyle (i.e. chronic medical comorbidities characteristic of later life or significant assistive devices)
• dementia (including Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body Dementia
WHAT YOU"LL NEED
- Graduate of an approved discipline program
- 1 year RN experience
- Active RN license
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
- The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for evidence to answer clinical questions. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
- Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. Competently handles multiple assignments often simultaneously by prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units. Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follows up to assure problems and issues are resolved.
- Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Conducts primary care patient interviews and physical examinations. Demonstrates sufficient acumen to recognize problems, ask questions and to contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. Has experience in gathering pertinent clinical data that aid in referral, treatment, or other primary care pathways.

SHIFT: The person in this role will work four 8-hour shifts from 3:00p - 11:00pm for a total of 32 hours per week, including some weekends.
About the Unit: This is a 28-bed unit with a ratio of 1:5. We care for children and adolescents with diagnoses, such as:
• ADHD
• autism
• oppositional defiance disorder
• depression
• psychosis
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
At least 1 year of RN experience
Nursing degree
State or Compact License (TN license within 60 days of getting TN address even if compact license

SHIFT: The person hired into this position will work three 12-hour shifts from 7:00p-7:00a per week for a total of 36 hours per week, to include some weekends. There will be two call shifts in a six week scheduling period.
Join the brand-new Acute Surgical Care Stepdown unit coming to 10N, a 31-bed stepdown unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5, offering a unique opportunity to help build a new team from the ground up. Nurses will provide a stepdown level of care to adult patients either awaiting surgery or recovering post-operatively. The unit features a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere.
Please note this is inpatient/bedside position.

We are a 24 bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 and we care for adult patients ranging in age 18 and older who are being treated for a variety of psychiatric illnesses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, other mood disorders, and substance misuse disorders.

RN Position for Clinical Research Center Night Shift –This is a 36-hour/week RN position on our night shift for 3–12-hour shifts in our Adult Clinical Research Center. We have inpatients and outpatients who may still be on the unit after 7pm.
We provide expertise in nursing assessment and skills such as IV placement, EKG’s, procedural set up and assistance, and investigational medication administration. We provide care for a number of research participants and clinical patients with rare diseases. We administer a high volume of investigational IV infusions such as monoclonal antibody therapies for rare diseases and insulin infusions for metabolic studies as well as subcutaneous and oral research medications. Excellent assessment skills and attention to detail are needed for patient observation following investigational medication administration and tasks such as frequent vital signs, EKG’s and lab draws to include centrifuging research blood samples. There is a weekend rotation approximately once every 4-6 weeks, however our clinic is closed on holidays.
We are looking for candidates that have 1-2 years of medical surgical experience and research experience is a plus. ACLS and BLS certification are required, and biotherapy infusion training will be provided as well as specialized research training.

In your pivotal role as a Clinical Research Coordinator 1, you will coordinate the approval processes and conduct of research protocols, assuring that the integrity and quality of the research is maintained and that the research is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, federal and sponsor regulations and guidelines, VUMC policies and procedures, and research protocols.

About the Department:
The Vanderbilt Coordinating Center (VCC) provides comprehensive, central support for a diverse platform of clinical and translational research projects. The VCC first began in 1989 under the direct leadership of Dr. Gordon Bernard. Its initial focus was on providing coordinating center support for investigator-initiated trials overseen at Vanderbilt. In 2016, with the addition of several large, innovative clinical trial grants within the Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR) and due to an ever-growing need to provide more specialized, flexible support to Vanderbilt investigators, a need surfaced to reinstate the VCC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- With assistance, prepares and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures and federal regulations
- Prepares and maintains documents required to be maintained and available internally and for regulatory authorities and/or the sponsor prior to, during and after the conduct of a clinical/translational trial.
- Participates in periodic site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation and research procedures Procures equipment and supplies needed to fulfill project requirements
- Records data from source documentation and/or participant interaction onto case report forms (either paper or electronic) with awareness and attention to the requirements for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
- Attends to query resolution in a timely manner.
- Assures research information is collected and stored in a manner that is compliant with regulations/policies and good clinical practice
- Performs packaging and ships study specimens (blood, urine, etc.) to the sponsor or laboratory in accordance with sponsor and shipping guidelines and regulations, maintaining appropriate documentation
- With direction assists with study completion, study closeout and archiving of study files, ensuring completeness and continuity of all study data, performing ongoing checks of clinical/translational data that has been entered on the case report forms (paper or electronic) or in reports
- With supervision, develops and manages study budgets, monitoring efficient invoicing and taking appropriate action to maintain clinical trial billing compliance
- Serves as an advocate for human subjects by establishing and maintaining communication with Investigators, research staff, Sponsors, participants and representatives of professional organizations, participant advocates, and the public responsible for, or concerned about, protections for human participants of research and through ongoing monitoring of trial processes and participants
- Participates in the determination of eligible candidates for study participation, assuring participants fulfill eligibility requirements.
- With guidance, assesses and evaluates potential participants pertinent medical and historical information to ensure only appropriate subjects are enrolled in clinical/translational trials and remain eligible for continued participation.

The Facility Compliance and Privacy Officer (FCPO) is responsible for coordinating local compliance program activities at assigned local hospitals and their related departments. - Responsible for effective coordination of facility compliance efforts as laid out in VUMC’s compliance and privacy work plans or as otherwise assigned. Performs periodic walkthroughs, audits, or other monitoring to ensure compliance with VUMC regulatory policies and data privacy and security practices and to promote awareness of the VUMC compliance program and VUMC privacy practices and reinforce VUMC’s Speak Up expectations and non-retaliation policies for those who raise any concern;
- Heads or staffs the Facility Compliance Committee following VUMC standards approved by the General Regulatory Compliance Committee; Prepare summary reports of committee activities and other local compliance and privacy efforts for presentation to the General Regulatory Compliance Committee, Information Privacy and Security Executive Committee, or other compliance and privacy oversight groups.

The Laboratory Supervisor has overall responsibility for clinical laboratory and laboratory support functions within the Laboratories of VIPMS. The supervisor provides support for the staff of the individual laboratories and, in collaboration with the managers, plans, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the operation of the laboratories. The Laboratory Supervisor oversees compliance with all state regulatory bodies (OSHA, CLIA)..
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the activities of one or more laboratories and/or functions to effect unity of operation within all VIPMS laboratories. • In coordination with assigned management staff create and update area specific policy and procedures. • Conducts annual review of all lab policy and procedures with Administrative Officer. • Assists Health Record Systems manager to maintain interfaces with health record systems and outside lab vendors and equipment. • Work with Health Record Systems Manager to ensure that all needed lab attributes are being entered into the health record. • Conducts monthly audits of laboratories to ensure that all regulations are being met. • Ensures standardization lab equipment, procedures and supplies. • Modifies operations as necessary to prevent recurrence of same problem • Oversee compliance with CLIA regulations. • Manage CLIA and other site inspections for all VIPMS laboratories. • Ensure that routine CAP testing is performed appropriately, review results with assigned lab employee at each location; ensure that each lab has CAP ordered in compliance with industry standards. • Coordinate OSHA compliance in coordination with the Administrative Officer and assigned laboratory staff for all VIPMS locations. • Conduct bi-annual OSHA inspections, in conjunction with the office manager, to ensure overall clinic compliance to standards. • Analyzes and evaluates currently performed lab tests to identify areas where adjustments/improvements are needed. • Support development and training opportunities for laboratory staff. Act as resource for novice staff members as well as assisting experienced staff in problem-solving for complex situations.
