We are seeking compassionate, patient-focused Care Partners (Nursing Assistants) who are experienced and comfortable providing hands-on care and supporting clinical procedures, including venipuncture/blood draws, Foley catheter care, specimen collection, and other bedside patient care responsibilities.

Your Schedule:
PRN Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
PRN staff are required to work a minimum of four 12-hour shifts every six weeks; however, candidates may be required to commit to a full-time orientation period (two/three 12-hour shifts per week) for the first 4 weeks of employment.
- All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.
What You Need to Qualify:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:
- Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
- Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
- Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of previous experience in a hospital setting

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Our first patient tower has 47 beds, including eight LDR rooms and can accommodate up to 89 beds when fully equipped. We also feature a full service emergency department, four surgical suites and medical imaging services. This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. What You'll Do:
The person in this role will work a hybrid of Radiology Resource nursing and Nuclear Medicine.
The Resource RN will float around between MRI, ROCU (Recovery and Observation Care Unit for IR patients), Pet Floro, CT and IV Cubby and will act as a resource to various areas of Radiology. The person in this role will be the first to respond to a stat or rapid call, access port, monitor pace makers, etc.
Nuclear medicine nurse responsibilities include:
Cardiac stress perfusion studies on mostly adults but also on children
Stress testing in the PET departmentMost of the nuclear stress testing is done on inpatients. We generally use Regadenoson, Adenosine, Dobutamine or treadmills to accomplish this.
We do Viability studies in PET to test for hibernating myocardium using high dose insulin gtts combined with glucose and potassium.
We do brain mappings/ stress with Diamox or adenosine.
Nurses perform sarcoid studies in PET using heparin.
We monitor mapping patients after procedures in Interventional Radiology.
Coronary CTAs are done regularly utilizing metoprolol IV, diltiazem IV and nitroglycerin.
Help thyroid cancer patients with prepping them for Iodine therapies and testing.
We teach the nuclear medicine students the patient care curriculum in the allied health program. The main topics are direct patient care, vital signs, and EKG rhythm interpretation.

The Scheduler is responsible for making patient appointments following medical practice procedures. Tasks may be integrated into another position e.g., receptionist/registration or medical assistant, as needed..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedules appointments for patients either by phone when they call in or in person after an office visit. If medical practice offers after-hours/one-day appointments, schedules these appointments following urgent/emergency protocols as in the case of a sick child, which may mean scheduling the patient with a physician or nurse practitioner other than their primary physician.
- Uses manual/computerized system to match physician/clinician availability with patient’s preferences in terms of date and time.
- Maintains scheduling system so records are accurate and complete and can be used to analyze patient/staffing patterns. The Women and Infants Services Department at Banner Ironwood Medical Center focused on providing family centered care. The Women and Infants Services are all in one department specialized for a family-centered healing environment. Level II facility with 24-hour coverage provided by Obstetricians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Neonatologists, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners; in addition to 24 hour in-house coverage by Anesthesia. There is a Certified Lactation Consultant to help support breastfeeding along with the observation of the “Golden Hour” at birth where baby is skin to skin with mom for bonding. This unit serves low to moderate risk patients with private rooms, Labor, delivery, and recovery for vaginal deliveries all in the same LDR room, approximately 90 deliveries per month, two OR suites for scheduled and unscheduled cesarean sections, and additional operative procedures in the immediate postpartum period, room service for meal delivery. We have 8 LDR rooms, each with a special area just for the family support, 2 OR suites, 2 bed PACU, 4 bed triage unit, 6 bed Special Care Nursery, and 23 Postpartum rooms.
As aPostpartum RN at Banner Ironwood Women and Infant Services, you will have the opportunity to be part of the special experience of having a baby for many families of the Queen Creek and surrounding communities. POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Our specialists provide advanced evaluation, treatment, and long-term management for children with digestive, liver, pancreas, kidney, urinary tract, and respiratory conditions, including complex disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, cystic fibrosis, asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, interstitial lung disease, and chronic kidney disease. With specialty clinics located across Middle Tennessee, families have access to expert, compassionate care close to home. In addition, our Complex Care Program supports children with severe chronic illnesses affecting multiple organ systems, including those who depend on medical technology such as gastrostomy tubes and tracheostomies. The Facility Compliance and Privacy Officer (FCPO) is responsible for coordinating local compliance program activities at assigned local hospitals and their related departments. The FCPO works under the joint general direction of the Office of Compliance and Corporate Integrity (OCCI) and the VUMC Privacy Office (Privacy), with a strong dotted line to hospital leadership, to maintain and continuously promote compliance with VUMC policies and applicable regulations, prevent or detect potential violations of fraud, waste, abuse and privacy requirement improve effective compliance efforts consistent with approved program Work Plans. The FCPO serves as a key coordinating and standardization function for VUMC’s overall regulatory compliance work plans..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides guidance to assigned facilities and related entities regarding the VUMC compliance program and policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and other governmental requirements.
- Responsible for effective coordination of facility compliance efforts as laid out in VUMC’s compliance and privacy work plans or as otherwise assigned. Performs periodic walkthroughs, audits, or other monitoring to ensure compliance with VUMC regulatory policies and data privacy and security practices and to promote awareness of the VUMC compliance program and VUMC privacy practices and reinforce VUMC’s Speak Up expectations and non-retaliation policies for those who raise any concern;
- Heads or staffs the Facility Compliance Committee following VUMC standards approved by the General Regulatory Compliance Committee; Prepare summary reports of committee activities and other local compliance and privacy efforts for presentation to the General Regulatory Compliance Committee, Information Privacy and Security Executive Committee, or other compliance and privacy oversight groups.
- Provides advice to facility’s executive leadership, directors, and staff on ethics and compliance and privacy concerns. Assists with interpreting and applying the Code of Conduct (Code), VUMC policies, and other regulatory requirements within their scope.
- Conducts investigations resulting from concerns raised to leadership, to OCCI and/or Privacy Office directly, or to the VUMC Integrity Line. Investigates compliance related concerns, including, but not limited to internal and external ethics cases, HIPAA/HITECH violations, controlled substance discrepancies, and ADA complaints, monitors physician relationships including contracting, payments, and expense reimbursement, and manages a portfolio of privacy-related inquiries, complaints, and concerns to ensure they are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Identify any local trends related to compliance and privacy matters. Develop strategies to operationalize compliance with regulations and assists OCCI and Privacy Office with benchmarking local facility compliance efforts against applicable best practices;
- Assists in the resolution of major compliance related issues and/or compliance efforts. Alerts OCCI and Privacy immediately on urgent matters and coordinates local response to such matters.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Computer/Electronic Knowledge: Knowledge of the use of applications and tasks on computers and other electronic devices as part of regular work responsibilities. It includes knowledge of software such as word processors, spreadsheets, text editors, and graphics and experience with the electronic medical records (i.e., Epic) and EMR monitoring software.

We are seeking compassionate, patient-focused Care Partners (Nursing Assistants) who are experienced and comfortable providing hands-on care and supporting clinical procedures, including venipuncture/blood draws, Foley catheter care, specimen collection, and other bedside patient care responsibilities.

Your Schedule:
- Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week)
- Shifts rotate throughout the week
- Note: Set schedules are not available. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs.
- All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.
What You Need to Qualify:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:
- Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
- Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
- Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
