The Clinical Translational Research Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating the approval processes and conduct of research protocols, such that the integrity and quality of the clinical/translational research is maintained and the research is conducted in accordance within all policies, under occasional guidance..
Preferred Skills & Experience
Strong interpersonal awareness and the ability to effectively read and adapt to different audiences and situations.
Experience using Epic electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Experience with OnCore clinical trial management software.
Experience using REDCap for research data collection and management.
Experience with data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
HIPAA training and a demonstrated understanding of patient privacy and data security requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proficiently prepares and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures and federal regulations
- Accurately and compliantly prepares and maintains documents required to be maintained internally and available for regulatory authorities and/or the sponsor prior to, during and after the conduct of a clinical/translational trial. Participates in periodic site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation and research procedures
- Identifies and procures equipment and supplies needed to fulfill project requirements (locally and across multiple sites, if required)
- Participates in the determination of eligible candidates for study participation, assuring participants fulfill eligibility requirements. Strives to ensure studies are completed in a timely manner through implementing effective screening and recruitment strategies and completing required documentation. Assesses and evaluates potential participants pertinent medical and historical information to ensure only appropriate subjects are enrolled in clinical/translational trials and remain eligible for continued participation
- Records data from source documentation and/or participant interaction onto case report forms (either paper or electronic) with awareness and attention to the requirements for accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Attends to query resolution in a timely manner. Assures research information is collected and stored in a manner that is compliant with regulations/policies and good clinical practice. Participates in site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation, critical documents and research procedures
- Performs packaging and ships study specimens (blood, urine, etc.) to the sponsor or laboratory in accordance with sponsor and shipping guidelines and regulations, maintaining appropriate documentation
- With direction, develops and manages study budgets, monitoring efficient invoicing and taking appropriate action to maintain clinical trial billing compliance, providing reports investigators, department administration and funding agencies
- Serves as an advocate for human subjects by establishing and maintaining communication with Investigators, research staff, Sponsors, participants and representatives of professional organizations, participant advocates, and the public responsible for, or concerned about, protections for human participants of research and through ongoing monitoring of trial processes and participants
- Participates in the ongoing informed consent process, ensuring that human subjects, their families, and other health care providers clearly understand what is expected of and from them in the course of participating in a clinical/translational trial
- Participates in research related programs, such as the Clinical/translational Research Staff Council and its activities by submitting issues or suggesting solutions, and reviewing Council information, by attending meetings open to research staff and by sharing information with other research personnel

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Clinical Research (Novice): Can research problems that span several areas of the department. Develops and writes basic trial protocols. Knows what information is available in the company. Designs data collection forms. Has developed networking skills which assist in researching issues.
- Study Design & Conduct (Novice): Applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within the life cycle of a study.
- Project Coordination (Novice): Reviews specific project related documents for completeness and accuracy and ensures project status reports are received, when due, from project managers for all approved projects. Provides administrative and logistics support for various project meetings, training, workshops and facilitated sessions. Coordinates and tracks all work requests to ensure on time project delivery. Keeps project plans updated and ensures key milestones and dependencies are understood. Responsible for record keeping for project meetings such as issues logs, gap analysis sheets, meeting minutes, making copies, team event planning and execution, team travel, on-boarding activities for contractors or consultants, set up and maintenance of project repositories.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
This is a 17 bed unit with a typical nurse to patient ratio of either 1:3 or 1:4. As a Registered Nurse in the Trauma Stepdown you will care for adult patients with traumatic injuries involving multiple body systems care, including:
• trauma rehabilitation
• traumatic brain Injury
• accidental trauma injuries

Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record that is utilized by all members of the healthcare team. Prevents creation of duplicate medical records that can cause treatment safety issues and billing problems. Follows and ensures compliance with the mandate of the organization’s accrediting bodies to use identifiers to positively identify a patient prior to the delivery of patient care to ensure patient safety.
Checks in and registers patients; obtains and verifies complete demographic, guarantor, and insurance information; discusses and collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket patient responsibilities. Obtaining accurate information at the point of registration helps ensure timely payment to the organization and prevents billing issues and patient complaints. Maintains complete confidentiality regarding patient personal/financial information and medical records in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Knows insurance basics and recognizes commercial and government plans. Understands which plans AAH contracts with and when a statement of financial responsibility is needed. Understands and discusses financial information and obligations with patients. Knows how and when to refer patients to Financial Advocates.
Has knowledge of which rules, forms and questions must be enforced to make sure AAH remains compliant with government agencies and regulations. Examples are: HIPAA, Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), Consent for Treatment, Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Important Message from Medicare (IMM), Medicare Outpatient Observation Notice (MOON), Notice of Privacy Practices, Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ), Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN). Obtains patient or guarantor signatures as required.
May schedule patient appointments, including virtual and procedural; may also coordinate cancellations, reschedules, wait list requests, and recall requests. Provides accurate, detailed information regarding test preparations, patient arrival time, medication/food/beverage consumption guidelines, check-in procedures, directions to facility, etc. May perform visit closure, including checking out patients after their visit, scheduling follow-up appointment(s), and providing patients with the after-visit summary.
Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and clinical staff as well as demonstrates a willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others for concise and timely flow of information. Proactively communicates issues involving customer service and process improvement opportunities to management.
Creates a welcoming and professional environment for our patients and visitors by demonstrating extraordinary customer service. Greets patients and visitors and responds to routine requests for information. Answers telephone, screens calls, and takes messages. Offers various assistance to patients to include: arranging transportation needs, providing directions, locating a wheelchair, coordinating interpreter services, etc.

This role involves managing high-acuity intensive care unit (ICU) patients with unstable conditions who require intensive oversight, frequent rounding, and specialized care. Patients may include those in medical and surgical ICUs with complex needs requiring advanced interventions. The APP is responsible for managing complex conditions while ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality care. This role requires advanced medical knowledge, clinical judgment, technical proficiency, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. The APP is also accountable for timely and compliant documentation, ongoing professional development, and competency validation. Department Summary
Rapid Response Team/CCOT
The rapid response NP/PA provides healthcare across the hospital when a patient outside of an ICU has a change in clinical status that requires immediate interventions to evaluate and stabilize their condition. The rapid response team (also known as the Critical Care Outreach Team - CCOT) provides 24 hour coverage across the hospital for episodic care when patients have an acute change in clinical status outside of an ICU. The rapid response/CCOT NP or PA works with the primary team and supervising intensivists to evaluate a patient’s clinical status and identify interventions to stabilize any acute changes while considering moving the patient to a higher level of care.
RRT/CCOT is responsible for documentation and data collection related to rapid response and STAT activations as well as education to patients, nurses, and physicians in relation to rapid response and STAT calls
ICU Support Team
The Critical Care APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The NP/PA provides healthcare in critical care settings, including surgical and medical ICUs. The APP has didactic education, clinical competency and national certification in identified area of clinical practice. Upon moving to a new ICU, the APP will receive adequate training and support before moving to a more independent role within the ICU for 8 continuous weeks. Each year, the APP will spend blocks of time working on the RRT/CCOT as well as supporting a new ICU for several months where staffing shortages are occurring.
The ICU Support Team and Rapid Response team is a dynamic and novel advanced practice provider team who work with physicians across the hospital and the different ICUs to provide care to the most sick and vulnerable patient population. Blocks of several months at a time will be spent staffing either RRT/CCOT or working within a specific ICU.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care.
- In collaboration, provides healthcare services for primary, acute and complex care of patients and manages patients’ overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
- Orders, performs, interprets and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
- Forms differential diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribes therapeutic interventions for both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and surgical, needed to achieve expected outcomes.
- Utilizes evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care.
- Initiates appropriate referrals and consultations
- Provides specialty specific consultation services upon request and within a specialty scope of practice.
- Facilitates the patient’s transition between and within health care settings, such as admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.

8S Trauma SD Cohort 10Job Summary:
The Clinical Staff Leader is a direct supervisory leadership role and a key member of the Nursing leadership team. The CSL leads a cohort of staff members and actively participates in overall management of the unit, development of clinical practice, and provision of patient care with accountabilities for implementation and outcomes for people leadership, quality, service, compliance, finance, throughput and scheduling. The primary focus of the Clinical Staff Leader is to ensure the unit's optimal performance by engaging in effective problem solving for staff, patients and families and to develop/lead the assigned cohort. The Clinical Staff Leader provides feedback and coaching to staff members, recognizing them for their contributions while fostering a high performance culture. The CSL works under the guidance and direction of the manager to develop..
SHIFT: Night-Shift. The person in the role will work two 12-hour night RSL charge shifts and two 8-hour admin shifts per week for a total of 40 hours per week.

Banner Ironwood Medical Center is a rural community hospital and our Observation Unit fills a universal need by providing a setting of care for patients not requiring an inpatient admission to receive additional diagnostic workup or therapeutic intervention beyond the scope of a typical Emergency Department visit. This unit also cares for Medical/Surgical & Telemetry inpatients. This provides the best of both worlds with caring for observation and inpatients. We have just opened our new Med Surg/Observation unit which came with exciting upgrades and a state of the art Ortho Gym to help our patients with their ADLs along with post-operative care.
As a Registered Nurse on our OOU, you will be in strong partnership and collaboration with our cohesive staff of healthcare professionals. This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. 3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
