Provides behavioral health services to emotionally disturbed and mentally ill patients. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Assesses, treats, plans, and provides psycho-education, and individual, family, and group therapy.
Essential Functions
- Utilizes resources to meet patient care needs by collaborating with appropriate guardians and community agencies.
- Assesses patients' problems, needs, and level of functioning.
- Writes appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis, age, and clinical presentation.
- Provides various treatment modalities and theoretical applications based on current clinical standards.
- Assists individual, groups, and families through the counseling relationship; evaluates and treats mental disorders and other conditions through the use of a combination of psychotherapeutic techniques and human development principles.
- Establishes and conducts appropriate interventions/treatment. Writes appropriate discharge plans based on individual needs of client and follows through with termination process.
- Provides patient care according to established policies/procedures and professional standards of care.
- Designs, plans, and implements effective patient education.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates patient care according to identified needs and manager clients in crisis.
- Provides accurate and consistent documentation of patient care/response in the medical record.
- Presents cases in clinical team meetings in a clear, concise, and clinically relevant manner.
- Completes all documentation within facility-established timeframes. Coordinates discharge planning and plan of care with next provider.
Requires extensive walking throughout the facility. Prolonged periods of sitting reviewing medical records and completing documentation. Repetitive wrist motion and occasional lifting of 10-20 pounds. Requires verbal and written communication in English. Intact sight and hearing with or without assistive devices is required.

Frequently called telephone numbers and service areas. Hospital emergency codes 2)Knows and refers: Hospital meeting schedule Directs participants to meeting room locations Directs patients/visitors to service areas (PT, ASC) Guest Services and Customer Service - Associate embodies the Advocate Behavior of Excellence (BOE's) in guest and customer services. 1)Opens desk and monitors equipment, supplies. 2)Greets and welcomes all visitors. Gives personal attention, acknowledges each guest/patient with dignity and respect. Uses AIDET 3)Responds to customer inquiries for information; provides direction, answers questions, issues visitor passes. 4)Answers telephone calls and follows hospital procedures; responds to all requests; transfers calls as appropriate. 5)Monitors associate and staff member's identification badges. 6)Maintains awareness of patient/visitor needs. 7)Maintains awareness of potential conflicts; contacts appropriate department manager for service recovery. 8)Maintains awareness of hospital amenities. 9)Maintains confidentiality and standards of HIPAA. Information Management -Associates must be computer literate, competent on the various hospital systems/ programs and knowlegeable on Guest Services protocols and Handbook. Understands and uses: 1)Allegra Computer System (patient inquiries) 2)The Guest Services Information Desk manual for information on policies, complaints, subpoenas, cultural diversity, clergy regulatory agencies (i.e. DNV, IDPH, OSHA) as well as other state, county and federal agencies. 3)Reptrax vendor system (vendor access). Knows who to contact to have cartridges and paper replenished. 4)Clergy and vendor logs 5)Alcatel telephone system. Transportation - Associate is aware of the physical needs and/or limitations of patients/visitors/guests. 1)Escorts all visitors and patients (as appropriate) to their destinations and/or departments. 2)Contacts Public Safety as needed for dispatching officers for patient/visitor assists, taking occurrence/incident reports, or assistance as needed by the Guest Services associates. 3)Calls Transportation Services for assistance with patient transports. 4)Monitors wheelchair availability; calls appropriate department to locate and return wheelchairs to the East Lobby. 5)Identifies wheelchairs that are in need of repair, service or replacement. Contacts supervisor or Facilities Management for a work order reques. Other duties as assigned: Guest Services associates will perform other duties as assigned by Manager of Volunteer Services, Supervisor of Volunteer Services and Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care. 1)Maintains a professional appearance at all times. Uniforms must be the approved attire; clean and pressed. Primary interactions would be with adult and geriatric individuals. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. It’s the duty of a phlebotomist to make patients feel relaxed and protected while collecting a blood sample. As a phlebotomist, you'll support Geisinger’s mission of providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services. At Geisinger, our phlebotomists are the friendly faces that collect samples to be analyzed by our state-of-the-art labs. Supporting a varied patient population, you’ll be responsible for venipunctures/skin punctures on patients in our inpatient setting.
There are many other tasks our phlebotomists complete, such as troubleshooting physician orders, processing specimens for testing, as well as aiding our patients.
We have many different skill levels in our labs, from new to experienced phlebotomists, and all skill levels are well utilized. Geisinger employs phlebotomists in roles I, II, and III. We also have numerous staff members who pursue their ASCP certification and become trainers for our department!
Phlebotomist I, II and III qualifications will be considered at appropriate compensation. Salary commensurate with experience. Experience as a nursing assistant (NA), certified nursing assistant (CNA), medical assistant (MA), certified medical assistant (CMA) or similar will be considered! Military experience will be considered. US Army 68W Combat Medic, 18D, US Navy Hospital Corpsman, and related medical specialties.

This position provides comprehensive care coordination, supporting a holistic and coordinated approach across the continuum of care. This position assists with informed decision-making; collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to allow for timely screening, diagnosis, treatment and increased supportive care throughout the patient experience. CORE FUNCTIONS

This position assists with providing resources to help the patient maintain optimal care. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs patient intake process, which may include pre-registration/registration. Partners with the clinical care team to determine initial authorizations needed based on the predicted care treatment plan. Obtains patient insurance benefit information for all aspects of the treatment, including, but not limited to, inpatient and outpatient services, prescription drugs, and travel and housing, if necessary. May also answer questions regarding the authorization process and supply information to providers, patients and third party payors.
2. Acts as a resource for insurance coverage, which may include obtaining authorizations and notifications throughout the patient’s treatment. Obtains all necessary signatures and documentation required by the patient’s insurance plan. Accurately and completely documents all information into the patient records system to ensure maximum reimbursement. Monitors and updates information regarding insurance data, authorizations, preferred providers and changes in patient’s treatment plan. Partners with the clinical care team and insurance provider to ensure continued coverage of patient’s care and maximum reimbursement and minimized financial impact to the patient.
3. Provides administrative support in maintaining materials such as documents, proposals, routine correspondence, spreadsheets, composing and preparing routine reports, and maintaining records in a variety of business software and database applications for electronic medical records, billing, data management.
4. Schedules physician appointments, tests, procedures and surgeries and may provide patient with necessary preparation instructions. Prepares, processes, and manages patient documentation to department database . Acts as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and payor to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns.
5. Optimizes patient experience by using effective customer service. Communicates continually with patients, other departments, referral networks and providers to ensure appropriate plans and protocols are followed. Uses discretion and is attentive to issues of customer confidentiality. Demonstrates skills in pro-active resolution and attempts to resolve scheduling conflicts.
6. May manage the medical record for the assigned area, including coordination with hospitals, practice offices and other ancillary services to obtain needed records. Responds to patient referral requests for tests, procedures and specialty visits. Follows guidelines and may assist in developing procedures to ensure that medical records are in compliance with all state and federal laws. May also reconcile charge tickets, identifying incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis codes. Notifies clinical staff as needed.
7. Works independently under general supervision, following established procedures. Uses knowledge and problem-solving skills to work independently in a clinic/physician practice environment. Responsibility for ensuring efficient coordination of administrative functions supporting patient needs assessments, insurance and authorization verification, registration, maintaining and handling of documentation, financial counseling, and scheduling of appointments. Internal and external customers include patients and their families, physician offices, third party payors, vendors, clinical staff, ancillary staff, therapist, nurses and case managers. Primary responsibility is to main department assigned, however cross-over and assistance to other departments is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. 3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
