Supervisor Sterile Services Description:
Serve on the leadership team as a shift supervisor for the designated operation by overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations. Partner closely with colleagues to serve as a clinical expert, regularly model/mentor and train colleagues on technical skills, make decisions regarding daily priorities for the work group, provide guidance to and/or assist staff on non-routine or escalated issues and complete performance appraisals and/or disciplinary actions.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience to include the majority of the following: serve as a clinical expert for a group of employees, regularly model/mentor and train employees on technical skills, make decisions regarding daily priorities for a work group, provide guidance to and/or assist staff on non-routine or escalated issues and provide input on performance appraisals and/or disciplinary actions required.
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education/experience combined, (One year of experience equals one year of education.)
- Knowledge of cleaning, decontaminating and sterilization equipment required.
- Knowledge of telecommunication equipment and Information systems required.
- Knowledge of general patient care supplies required.
- A thorough knowledge of sterilization principles, theories and practices and a working knowledge of AAMI standards and operational application to meet Standards.
- Experience with typical office equipment (e.g., phone, copier).
- Knowledge of numerous computer and inventory systems required.
- Must demonstrate a knowledge of surgical instrumentation, surgical case cart systems, computerized inventory systems and possess a though knowledge of sterilization principles, theories and practices.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to problem solve and exhibit strong judgment skills in a well-thought out and timely fashion and determine appropriate course of action in significantly complex situations.
- Certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) OR the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) required within 18 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in sterile processing preferred.
- At least three years sterile processing experience or certified surgical technologist experience or a combination of both desired.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience combined (One year of experience equals one year of education) required.
- Graduate from certified surgical technologist program.
- Ability to exhibit strong leadership, strong planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise creativity/innovation and be attentive to detail required.
- Experience with Microsoft office, EPIC, SPM and KRONOS

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an individual to join our Access Services team in a front-line, patient-facing role. In this position, you will have a meaningful impact on patients and visitors and often serve as the first impression of Nebraska Medicine.
Position Highlights:

Duties: Sr Patient Access Associate
Ensure patients and customers are greeted in a professional, timely and efficient manner and accounts are created accurately and efficiently in order to optimize cash flow for organization while exceeding customer expectations and complying with all state and federal regulations and laws throughout the processes of scheduling confirmation, pre-registration/pre admission, registration/admission, insurance verification, receipting of payments, and patient way finding/escorting. Coverage for position is required 24 hours a day 7 days a week with needs in various areas of the organization, including the emergency department. Face to face and bedside patient contact required.
Required Qualifications: Sr Patient Access Associate
• Minimum of two years customer service experience required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner required.
• Multi-tasking and problem solving abilities required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with aptitude for detail-oriented work required.
• Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain working relationships within the organization to foster a team environment required.
• Ability to type 35 wpm with 95% accuracy rating required.
•Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire or transfer date required required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later). Preferred Qualifications: Sr Patient Access Associate
• Experience in health care, collections, registration, or revenue cycle preferred.
• Associate's degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred.

$35.50 - $53.25Major Responsibilities:
- Participates in the preparatory steps of surgery; assists operating team in gathering supplies, opening room for cases, assists in lifting, transferring, positioning, preparing and draping the patient.
- Anticipates and responds to the needs of the Surgeon, by ensuring all required supplies are available for procedures prior to incision, recognizing individual preferences.
- Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care. Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures (e.g., assistance with gowning and gloving; preparation and draping of the surgical area; provision of a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials; anticipation of the Surgeons' needs; holding of retractors, observing and reporting possible breaks in aseptic technique; and assisting in maintaining a sterile, dry, unobstructed field).
- Ensures the environmental disinfection, safety and efficiency of the operating room. This includes setting up the room for each case including moving equipment (e.g., tables, cameras, microscopes, fracture table, and instrument pans), operating the various types of equipment they have been trained to use during operating room procedures, and returning equipment post procedure. Checks the working condition of equipment and facilitates having damaged items sent out for repair. Notifies appropriate people of equipment and supply problems.
- Acts as a resource and assists in the training of Surgical Technologists and new Surgical Assistants. Participates in department and facility work teams and assists with special projects as needed.
- May perform specific surgical activities that are validated competencies under the direct supervision of the surgeon (i.e. the surgeon is in the same room working on the same patient). A record of the validated competencies must be recorded in the caregiver's education file.
- May perform specific validated competencies and surgical activities such as wound closure of deep capsules, muscle, subcutaneous tissue and skin under general supervision of the surgeon (i.e. validated competencies may be delegated by the surgeon who is immediately available and able to furnish immediate assistance and direction but not necessarily present in the room when the activity is performed).
- May perform specific validated competencies and surgical activities such as position and prep of patient on the surgical table (excluding complex fracture table, spinal frame, or head stabilizers/pins/tongs), application of the tourniquet as indicated in preparation of a procedure, securing of drains, application of the dressing, cast or immobilizer at the end of a case and safe transfer from the surgical table to transport cart/bed without supervision of the surgeon (i.e. validated competencies may be delegated by the surgeon and be performed without supervision of the surgeon and with the surgeon not present).
- Provides competency confirmed by a sponsoring surgeon and submits documentation to the medical executive committee a minimum of every two years for approval and/or renewal.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Lead the provision of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services including creation and maintenance of pharmaceutical care plan, cost-effective therapeutic drug monitoring, drug utilization, guideline development, and drug use evaluation in assigned clinical teams. Nebraska Medicine is seeking an individual to join our Access Services team in a front-line, patient-facing role within our Labor & Delivery unit. This role supports patients and families during both joyful and difficult moments and requires a high level of professionalism, compassion, emotional awareness, and attention to detail. Team members interact directly with patients at bedside shortly after delivery and are responsible for handling sensitive legal and medical documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
After completing registration training, team members will also complete notary training (provided and paid for by Nebraska Medicine) to support birth certificate and death certificate documentation processes. Responsibilities include gathering and verifying information for legal records, reviewing patient charts, completing detailed documentation, communicating required information to the state, and having sensitive conversations with patients and families following both births and infant loss. Candidates should be comfortable navigating emotionally complex situations while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and accuracy in a highly administrative healthcare environment.

- 6 Neuro is a 48-bed med-surg unit cares for medical surgical patients and offers the most advanced neurovascular care to complex patients. Its specialized patient population includes those with stroke, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors and other neurological conditions.

$30.70 - $46.05Major Responsibilities:- Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated. Monitors workflow and makes necessary adjustment to complete work in an appropriate time frame.
- Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness. Follows prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results.
- Performs and documents calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment. Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction; evaluates and implements appropriate corrections.
- Performs, documents and reviews quality control and quality assurance for improvement according to established protocol. Evaluates quality control results and takes corrective action when indicated.
- Ascertains that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol.
- Provides general direction, training, competency review and technical l assistance to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff. Assists in the development of education and training protocols; instructs students, residents and new team members as assigned.
- Assists in improving the quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies, and processes. Ensures compliance with all accrediting agency standards, supporting CAP Regulatory requirements in an acute setting.
- Performs internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples.
- Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry. Supports the disease specific accreditations of an institution by meeting turn- around time goals.
- Provides direct support and timely, accurate laboratory results for critical care departments such as the ED, ICU and OR during a high acuity patient event. This includes transfusion services, attending codes, performing testing on irretrievable samples, tissue grinding and gram stains, mass casualty procedures, and mass transfusion procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) needs to be obtained within 1 year, or
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) needs to be obtained within 1 year.

This position floats between three cancer clinic locations and does not have a designated home clinic. The primary work locations will be Village Pointe Health Center and Bellevue Medical Center, with the potential to float to Nebraska Medical Center based on staffing needs.
This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours and no set schedule. The primary purpose of this role is to provide coverage when team members are out or when additional staffing support is needed.
We anticipate approximately 1-2 shifts per week, with the potential for additional or longer-term coverage depending on staffing needs and planned absences.
Busiest days are generally Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with occasional needs on Fridays.
Clinic hours generally begin at 7:30 a.m., with the latest patient appointments around 5:00 p.m.

Responsible for coordinating a patient-centered, interdisciplinary plan of care for patients in the acute inpatient care setting. Work collaboratively with internal and external care providers, facilities and agency partners to ensure a coordinated post-acute discharge or treatment plan is in place so to support a seamless transition of care. Responsible for implementing workflows and processes involved in facilitating discharge care planning activities such as arranging for post-acute facility transfers or in-home support services.

Job Description:
Coordinate a patient care delivery system for a designated group of patients in order to achieve high quality, cost effective patient outcomes across the continuum of health care with the goal of optimizing the patient's health status.
