Acts as the customer service informational resource for patients, families and visitors as they enter the hospital. Major Responsibilities:
- Ensures that patients and visitors are greeted in a prompt and courteous manner and provided with accurate information regarding services, fostering a positive image of UMass Memorial Medical Center. Provides patients, visitors and callers with basic patient status information as well as patient visiting times and procedures. Produces and provides standardized directions to UMMMC facilities. Ensures that procedures for patient security and confidentiality are followed.
- Assists with the visitor management program which will include screening, documenting data into the computer, tracking visitor location and possible temperature checks.
- Utilizes computers to access daily schedule of patients and sites of service and provides patients with appointment schedules and appointment information as necessary. References information on patient location, admissions and discharges, patient phone numbers and visitor instructions.
- Manages a high volume of telephone calls concerning patients, visitors, vendors and staff. Helps arrange taxi or other basic transportation. Monitors visitor activities in the lobby area and notifies Security of potential problems. Arranges for escorts for patients and visitors to assigned areas.
- Distributes PPE to employees, patients and visitors.

Performs and interprets various chemical, microscopic, and/or bacteriologic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.Major Responsibilities:
- Follows established protocols to perform a wide range of test in an assigned area. Refers to Medical Technologist II’s or supervisory or lead staff members for assistance in the interpretation of complex or unusual test results.
- Ensures that test results meet requirements of the laboratory quality control program.
- Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken.
- Ensures preventative maintenance for equipment in assigned area. Performs routine troubleshooting, repair, and modification of a wide range of complex equipment and instrumentation.
- Maintains accurate records of tests performed, using computer-based systems.

Required:
- Associates degree from a clinical lab science program (MLT).
-OR- - Bachelor’s Degree in sciences. Degree and course work in the sciences must meet the requirements for high complexity testing as defined CLIA Sec. 493.1487 to qualify for hiring.
Preferred:
- ASCP certification as an MLT /MT
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacy supervisor and pharmacist is responsible for performing daily operations within the pharmacy. Performs medication related tasks such as packaging, preparation of all forms of medications, record keeping, and all aspects of drug distribution.Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day to day operations within the Outpatient Pharmacy.
- Assists in UMMMC Meds to Beds prescription intake and delivery and documents appropriately on patient medical record and pharmacy tracking report.
- Responds accurately and timely to provider inquiries about discharge prescriptions and documents accordingly on patient medical record.
- Processes prescriptions through pharmacy computer system.
- Maintains inventory by conducting daily cycle counts, receiving the order, and removing outdated items from active stock.
- Interacts with providers and provider staff to receive and clarify orders.
- Interacts with patients to update them on out of stock, insurance, or other emergent issues.
- Maintains required prescription records as necessary in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements.
- Enters new prescriptions and refills into the computer system.
- Resolves common adjudication issues and troubleshoots with insurance when necessary.
- Answers doctor and patient telephone calls.
- Appropriately fills and maintains prescription dispensing robot.
- Dispenses prescriptions through point of sale after verifying two patient identifiers.
- Maintains a clean work area and assists in quality indicator monitoring.
- Assists with yearly inventory in assigned areas.
- Participates in identifying problems or areas for improvement and assists supervisor with problem solving projects and improving operations; participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and/or teams.

Under general supervision of the Director or Diagnostic Imaging, this position is responsible for scanning and producing a variety of computerized tomography examinations for physician interpretation and diagnosis of injury and/or disease for all patient ages.Assists the Radiologist with all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines set forth by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. Performs related clerical and service duties and assists with other departments as needed.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
2. Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
3. Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.
4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
5. Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review.
6. Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.
7. Assists with other job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.
8. Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media according to department policy and procedures.
9. Establishes IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedure.

Position Purpose:
Surgical Care Tech’s in the Pre-op and PACU department care for patients before and after their surgical procedure. In our Operating Room at Chelsea, more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually in the fields of gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.
The Surgical Care Tech cleans and disinfects Endoscopes and other related equipment as assigned. Performs surgical care tech duties as assigned (i.e., transporting patients, vital signs, performs urine pregnancy test, discontinuing IV’s etc) Performs clerical duties as assigned. Performs housekeeping duties (Cleaning stretchers, equipment, terminally cleaning of the Surgical Department, etc.)

Position Purpose:

Inpatient Rehab is a collaborative program between Chelsea Hospital and University of Michigan Health, staffed by a team of award-winning U-M Health rehab physicians and Chelsea Hospital nurses, therapists, and specialists.
Our Inpatient Rehabilitation unit has recently expanded to a 40-bed unit and is now accepting higher acuity patients. As part of our commitment to excellence in patient care, we are proud to be participating in the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System.
Shift Available: 6:30am-3:00pm
Status Available: Full time, benefit eligible (64 hours per pay period – every two weeks)
Weekend and holiday commitments required
Required Qualifications

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Effective leadership in nursing involves creating a positive work environment through direction and supervision, while implementing strategies to boost staff morale and retention. Regular performance evaluations and constructive feedback that help set clear expectations and goals, addressing staff concerns promptly to maintain team cohesion. Recruitment efforts focus on attracting top talent, promoting diversity, and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient care needs, while managing workloads to prevent burnout.
Collaborative Care Coordination:
Building strong relationships with healthcare professionals such as physicians and pharmacists to support integrated patient care. Leading interdisciplinary meetings and serving as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments that fosters open communication and collaboration, ensuring comprehensive care plans and positive patient outcomes.
Change Management, Innovation, Quality Improvement:
Lead initiatives to implement new programs and technologies that enhances patient care and operational efficiency, with staff engagement being key to successful change processes. Utilizing data analysis to identify areas for improvement, by engaging in quality assurance programs to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements. Budget management and resource allocation are optimized to maintain quality without compromising efficiency.
Promote a Culture of Patient-Centered Care:
Promoting patient-centered care involves initiatives to improve satisfaction and experience, advocating for patient rights, and fostering open communication among staff. Recognizing and rewarding excellence in nursing practice by encouraging a culture of safety and excellence, ensuring ethical considerations are prioritized in care delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leadership skills in nursing include mentoring and developing staff and leaders, team building, and conflict resolution. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for building relationships across disciplines and conveying information effectively. Organizational skills involve aligning nursing services with strategic goals, managing priorities, and navigating dynamic environments.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education Required: Master's Degree
Area of Study Required: Bachelor's and Master's degree required, one of which must be in Nursing
Area of Study preferred: Advance degrees in Nursing Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field are preferred.
Experience Required: Registered nurse with 3-5 years' experience in health care, with progressive administrative experience.
Experience Preferred: Oncology experience preferred
Licenses/Certification/Registration Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and or New Hampshire as applicable.
Licenses/Certification/Registration Preferred: Leadership, Oncology, or Research Nursing certification (required within 2 years of employment)
