Position Summary / Career Interest:
Provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Breast Imaging Procedural Resource RN is committed to removing the barriers in order for patients to receive fast, easy, great care. The Breast Imaging Procedural Resource RN works closely with doctors and other clinical staff to support positive patient health outcomes. Responsible for supporting and restoring patient's health by collaborating with physicians and team members; and providing physical and psychological support to patients and their families.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Obtains procedural consent.
- Performs patient assessment by assimilating data about the patients physiological and psychosocial status, safety concerns, self -care, educational needs, supportive service needs, and discharge planning.
- Performs appropriate follow up care after the procedures (holding pressure on biopsy site, dressing of site, physical assessment to include vital signs, and notifies physician immediately of any untoward effects).
- Assists in daily clinic upkeep.
- Assists in the development and implementation of department quality improvement activities.
- Coordinates care delivery and utilizes resources to promote the continuum of care.
- Demonstrates professionalism by practicing, maintaining, and increasing knowledge of nursing and healthcare trends through evidenced based practice.
- Engages in shared governance model and promotes culture of respect
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Associate Degree Nursing or higher degree
- Nurses hired after September 1, 2026, without a BSN will be required to sign an ADN-to-BSN agreement at the time of hire and must complete a BSN degree by the fifth anniversary of hire into this role
- 1 or more years of RN experience

- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing Must have current active multistate state Register Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live. Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $121,596.80 - $142,792.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Position Title
Position Summary / Career Interest:
Cardiovascular Sonographers provide professional, safe and compassionate ultrasound imaging care to all patient populations. They are uniquely trained in the advanced understanding of ultrasound physics and instrumentation allowing them to optimize the ultrasound controls for the highest quality image acquisition. The sonographer is able to identify and evaluate the appropriate anatomical and physiological consequences that would be consistent with disease processes. They need to be able to adapt the routine protocol to a wide range of patients and disease-state variability, making each exam individual and unique. The sonographer manages the initiation of critical value notification to expedite optimal patient outcomes.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Obtain a patient history and perform a pre ultrasound procedure assessment. The sonographer must utilize their professional knowledge to verify that the exam ordered is consistent with the patient history, indication and/or diagnosis and assessment findings. In the presence of any inconsistencies they clarify the procedure with the ordering physician.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patients while they are under their care. Interacts and communicates with patients, explaining the procedure, reassuring them and eliciting their cooperation as needed.
- Perform routine and complex cardiovascular ultrasound procedures including echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms including treadmill, Dobutamine echo and bicycle ergonometry. Vascular imaging includes carotid Duplex, upper/lower venous/arterial, abdominal aorta, renal, venous insufficiency, and vein mapping procedures.
- The sonographer must demonstrate an understanding of the imaging planes obtained during a TEE exam. Assist the physician in the accurate acquisition of images from the esophagus. At the KU location the sonographer completes appropriate TEE probe cleaning and disinfecting.
- Perform professional, clinical and technical competencies of assigned location, but not limited to assigned shifts and be readily available when scheduled to perform on-call echocardiographic services as assigned to provide emergent echocardiographic services under the direction of a cardiologist.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and evaluate the appropriate anatomical and physiological consequences that would be consistent with disease process. The sonographer needs to be able to adapt the routine protocol to accommodate a wide range of patients and disease-states, making each exam individual and unique. Any additional enhancements that would provide beneficial information are initiated with the sonographer unless otherwise noted by the ordering physician.
- Demonstrate both cognitive and psychomotor skill sets in the area of cardiovascular disease states. These skill sets are necessary to accurately and efficiently obtain the appropriate vascular and echocardiographic ultrasound images and hemodynamic information as appropriate.
- Organize the acquired data in the appropriate sequence that will accurately represent the patient's condition to the interpreting physician. In the presence of critical values the sonographer must display competence in identifying, documenting and communicating this to the interpreting physician. Working closely with the interpreting physician in interpretive sessions, assisting in the evaluation of data and contributing relevant technical information.
- In accordance with the departmental QI program; the sonographer must provide quality, constructive feedback on peer to peer case study review as assigned; return QI studies to the technical director or their designee in a timely manner.
- Assists in maintaining efficient patient flow through the department, working as an active participant with the other members of the team.
- Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments as outlined by the department director.
- Participate in the education and training of sonographer students, residents, medical students and fellows, providing instruction in the area of cardiovascular ultrasound procedures.
- Assess the need for LVO contrast and bubble studies during echocardiography studies; administer and properly document IV’s, LVO contrast and bubble studies when performed.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the imaging planes needed to assist with sonographer-guided thrombin injection procedures in performed in the cath lab under the direction of the cardiologist.
- Assist with the assessment and maintenance of the equipment log. Make service calls when needed in a timely manner, resolve the issue, and document in the appropriate log. The sonographer must notify director/manager of issue in a timely manner.

The Embryology/ART Laboratory Director will provide leadership and oversight of the operational, technical and scientific functions of the embryology, andrology and phlebotomy laboratories. As a member of the clinical faculty, the director participates in education and supports the ongoing research and academic mission of the University of Kansas Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Job Duties:
- Provide overall operational, administrative, technical, and scientific leadership for the ART laboratory and advise Division leadership regarding qualified laboratory personnel.
- Establish, implement, and oversee laboratory policies, protocols, standards, and procedures in collaboration with the Medical Director and applicable leadership.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations and perform laboratory procedures and testing as needed to support patient care and operational needs.
- Ensure laboratory testing and treatment methods are scientifically valid, clinically relevant, and appropriate to patient and program needs.
- Develop and oversee the laboratory’s quality management and quality assurance programs, including quality control, proficiency testing, quality improvement, corrective actions, and annual program review.
- Monitor laboratory performance and ensure accurate, timely, and medically reliable results, documentation, and communication of laboratory data.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and institutional requirements, including timely reporting of federally mandated ART data to SART and CDC.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate laboratory personnel; ensure staff maintain required competency, licensure, certification, and continuing education. Oversee the training and professional development of embryologists.
- Provide consultation to physicians and other clinical staff regarding laboratory aspects of patient treatment and management.
- Oversee selection and evaluation of laboratory equipment, methods, reagents, reference laboratories, and other resources to ensure quality, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure laboratory facilities, equipment, environmental conditions, and information and record-management systems meet applicable safety, confidentiality, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
- Coordinate and participate in regulatory and accreditation inspections and self-assessments; review findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
- Support education and research activities related to reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) and participate in educational programs for medical and laboratory staff.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution OR
- Hold an earned doctoral degree; and
- Have at least 16 semester hours of doctoral level coursework in biology, chemistry, medical technology (MT), clinical laboratory science (CLS), or medical laboratory science (MLS); or
- An approved thesis or research project in biology/chemistry/MT/CLS/MLS related to laboratory testing for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of any disease or impairment of, or the assessment of the health of, human beings.
Certifications:

Work Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in laboratory training

The Ambulatory Clinic Healthcare Associate is responsible for assuring efficient flow of patients through the health care setting by facilitating examination and treatment of patients in a culturally sensitive manner with exceptional customer service; contributes to patient care by preparing patient for visit, performing limited procedures, scheduling diagnostic test or consults, maintaining patient records, organizing clinic/exam rooms, maintaining supply/equipment inventory, and/or assisting physicians, other medical staff, nurses, other interdisciplinary team members and support staff.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Accurately schedules radiology tests; obtains films and reports; prepares laboratory specimens according to policy.
- Assists physicians and/or nurses with special procedures and examinations as defined on competency checklist.
- Collaborates with members of the health care team in coordinating and implementing plans for patient care; may record elements of the patient history for clinical staff review.
- Ensures data collected for completed procedures is recorded on appropriate forms and in medical records
- Maintains medical records; ensures all required documentation is available in the medical record; distributes reports and correspondence; files, photocopies and processes forms related to medical charts.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures par levels of supplies are maintained; checks and completes required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs, eyewash logs, emergency/crash carts, suction and other required checks.
- Performs clerical duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; pre-certification of tests, procedures and medications; processing insurance forms; preparing financial records; answering phones; and entering ambulatory care charges.
- Performs simple procedures as directed by the nurse or physician and as defined on the competency checklist.
- Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents in medical record.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

The Clinical Dietitian works as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team. They perform an individualized assessment and design a customized plan to address the patients' nutritional care needs. They periodically review the patient's status to ensure that the nutritional care goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
- Performs key functions of nutrition care according to department standards and procedures, including screening for nutrition risk, nutrition assessment, development of care plan, and follow-up monitoring/reassessment of patients identified to be at nutrition risk.
- Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to implement nutrition care, coordinates care in conjunction with other disciplines, assesses progress of patients towards desired outcomes, records variances, and communicates with health care team when outcomes are not met.
- Acts as a nutrition resource/advocate to others for specific patients/families.
- Participates in team management rounds and care conferences of patients, and reports and responds to resulting requests for nutritional services.
- Instructs/counsels patients/families in nutritional care, understands/applies basic learning principles to both children and adults, is aware of available resources, utilizes available resources, and evaluates effectiveness of own teaching.
- Serves as student preceptor.
- Maintains and upgrades own level of nutritional care expertise while serving as a nutrition expert to staff, clients, students and community.
- Provides smooth, efficient, courteous flow of nutritional care information to Clinical Nutrition staff, managers and others health providers as needed.
- Actively participates in staff meetings, ad hoc meetings, and as a resource to others.
- Applies current research findings in practice by implementing evidenced based practice.
- Participates in department quality improvement activities and data collection as requested
- Participates in community education activities and/or outreach programs as needed.
