Position Summary & Highlights:
We are now hiring for an Operating Room (OR) Assistant at our Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise (I-184 and Curtis Road)!
Our dedicated team of surgeons utilize the most advanced technology to deliver the highest quality of care for all types of patients including the critically ill and injured with the only Level II Trauma Center in the region.
OR Assistants are primarily responsible for housekeeping duties within surgical services. They are also responsible for transporting supplies and equipment and preparing case carts.
Orientation/Training:
Flexible based on availability. It is highly recommended to orientate and train at least 2 - 3 days/week, until you are fully trained.
Orientation can be 6 - 8 weeks and new hires are trained in all three service areas (Ortho, Neuro, and General).
You will meet with the OR Educators typically your first week. They train on equipment, positioning, and body mechanics.
What You Will Do:
Support staff by preparing case carts that include all necessary surgery supplies, suture, and equipment based on surgeon's preference.
Clean and turnover operating rooms including all equipment, bed, floor, appliances, and overhead lights in the ORs or that were used on the particular cases.
Transport dirty case carts to decontamination area and sends to Sterile Processing on dirty elevator. Logs in specimens and places in appropriate area.
Transport supplies, specimens, x-rays, blood products, and beds.
Provide necessary articles for transport, including oxygen tanks, monitors, patient charts, documents, and supplies, and transport recovery beds or patient beds to appropriate rooms.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working in housekeeping, central supply or surgery transportation preferred.
Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and supplies preferred.

Position Summary & Highlights:
This MA position will primarily support the Infectious Disease outpatient clinic provider team which includes three Physicians, Locums staff, a dedicated RN and another MA.
The Saint Alphonsus Infectious Disease team treats individuals experiencing bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic infections to provide an extra layer of support and care in this specific area.
What You Will Do:
You will help care for a wide variety of infections and patient situations.
In addition to typical MA duties, you will work with high acuity patients and may perform wound care, injections, immunizations, med refills, patient calls and triage, and assisting with minor procedures and healthcare assessments when needed.

An ideal candidate will have a high level of critical thinking and problem solving, strong sense of urgency due to patients' acuity level, strong multi-tasking skills and can work at any pace.

Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician required; hospital experience required; preferred to have 6 months with Saint Alphonsus.
National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required.
Completion of college level certificate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

SUMMARY:
This position will focus on maternal mental health including pregnancy-related and post-partum depression and anxiety. The primary responsibility will be to provide individual counseling with time spent on collaboration, intervention and consultation with providers and some facilitation of support groups for those experiencing post-partum depression or anxiety.
HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT: You will have the opportunity to work in a close-knit and supportive team with a multi-D team to include sub-specialty clinicians in the Saint Alphonsus Family Center. The position will be 4 1/2 days a week. The start time of the day is flexible.
REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required in the state where practicing.
One-year post-license experience in related mental health setting preferred.
Experience working with the perinatal population preferred.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Complete bio-psycho-social and environmental assessments on identified and/or referred patients
Provide interventions for patients and families/caregivers, as appropriate. Interventions may include counseling, supportive therapy, alcohol/drug assessment and referral, referral to internal and external community resources, crisis intervention and grief counseling
Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet the emotional, mental, environmental, bio-psycho-social and spiritual needs of patients and/or their family caregivers.
Within a therapeutic relationship, conduct and document a comprehensive diagnostic assessment; develop and implement a collaborative treatment plan, and maintain documentation of services provided
Interventions may include, but are not limited to, individual or family counseling, referral to internal and external community resources, crisis intervention, grief counseling, supportive therapy, substance use referral, support groups.
May assist with coordination of transfer of care to inpatient mental health and/or substance abuse facilities
Participate in department staff meetings and department sub-teams
Adhere to the National association of Social Work (NASW) or American Counseling Association (ACA) code of ethics and the State Licensure Board of ethics
Possesses critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Able to maintain self-regulation and provide thoughtful interventions amidst crises
