Come join the Security team at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities.
Schedule: Per Diem- Rotating Shift
Position Purpose:
The Security Officer performs general security work in the protection of person, property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the department, Hospital, and any applicable federal, state, or local laws to prevent losses due to accident and incidents.
What you will do:
- Provides for the safety and security of all persons and property for patients, visitors, and colleagues on hospital campus.
- Assists staff and others with argumentative, belligerent and combative individuals, especially where there is imminent danger to staff, physicians, patients and/or visitors. If circumstances dictate, potentially participates as a member of a Restraint Team as directed by a member of the medical or nursing staff.
- Patrols assigned areas of the facilities and grounds on foot or car according to established schedule and investigate unusual occurrences. Reports incidents or apparent damage, or loss of patient, visitor, or hospital property through fire, theft, vandalism, or other unusual occurrences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- All state specific licensing requirements including permanent Guard cards.
- Six (6) months or more of private security, law enforcement or relevant military experience preferred
- Knowledge of PC based applications in a Windows environment.
- Excellent customer services skills. Ability to think and act quickly in crisis situations.
- Valid driver’s license, preferred. Must be 21 years of age to operate Hospital vehicles.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
- Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
- Must be able to lift 11-24 lbs., carry 11-24 lbs., push/pull 35-40 lbs. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and reaching overhead. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally.
- May be required to rotate and work long irregular shifts.
- Work requires physically assisting in the restraining of psychiatric patients during crisis intervention. Cognizant of the fact that the possibility of physical confrontation increases the likelihood of injury.

Pay Range: $17.50-$23.80 per hour
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

$19.80 - $29.70Major Responsibilities: Scrub, strips, polishes and refinishes floors using appropriate equipment and/or supplies. Operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical, i.e. ringers, vacuum, electric floor machines, sweepers, etc. 6)Clean or sanitize after emergency spill as requested. 1)Analyzes floor or carpet conditions and determines proper cleaning techniques, following departmetn processes. 2)Maintains hard surface floors and carpets following department process. 3)Exhibits timely and satisfactory completion of all job assignments. 4)Exercises initiative by seeking additional tasks from group leader or other associates when time permits. 5)Uses and maintains equipment, keeping clean and in good repair. Keeps work area in orderly, clean and safe condition. Waste must be disposed of in a timely manner to assure hospital cleanliness. 5)Collects hazardous and medical waste according to hospital processes/DOT/RSPA training provided hazardous and pharmaceutical. 6)Replaces and transports sharps containers to waste staging area. 7)Collects soiled linen. 1)Removal and disposal of rubbish from selected areas, following safety guidelines. 2)Separates regular and recycle trash according to procedure. 3)Operates waste compactors safety and efficiently. 4)Clean and/or sanitizes all garbage/waste disposal containers. Customer Satisfaction-Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying customer needs and exceeding customer expectations. 4)Displays patient and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel. 5)Presents department in a positive manner to all contacts. 6)Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts. 7)Maintains confidential patient and departmental information. 1)Utilized AIDET with both Internal Customer and External Customers, meeting system goal. 2)Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with fellow associates. 3)Demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude to patient families and other personnel in emergency and non-emergency situations. Provides support for the following services. 1)Arranges furniture for meeting, workshops and community affairs according to specification of responsible department/individual as required. 2)Relocate furniture, equipment, etc., as requested. 3)Completes terminal cleans as needed. Summary: Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive respiratory care The Respiratory therapist administers respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Major Responsibilities:
- Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patient utilizing a variety of skills such as pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiograph, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlates blood gases and electrolytes. Position Purpose:
Performs various duties in transporting patients and supplies to various patient testing areas of the medical center assigned through the EPIC system.
What you will do:
- Upon notification from the EPIC system or from the Hub Dispatcher, transports patients to and from patient areas and various diagnostic and treatment centers in a safe, dignified, and efficient manner. Patients are transported by three modes of transportation, bed, stretcher or wheelchair.
- Answers pages on beeper or Rover device.
- Completes transport request steps before, during, and after transport in the EPIC system.

- Assists with transferring of patients using proper body mechanics and safe lift equipment.

Position Purpose:
According to established procedures, performs repetitive cleaning tasks in order to maintain assigned Hospital area in an orderly and sanitary condition. In doing so, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around Hospital departments, and performs a variety of heavy and light housekeeping duties. Utilizes Seven-Step cleaning, dry and wet mops floors, strips and buffs floors, shampoos carpets and removes stains from floors, walls, furniture, and the like.
What you will do:
- Receives cleaning assignments, requests cleaning materials and supplies such as mops, buckets, electric buffer, vacuum cleaner, rags, disinfectants, and the like from designated areas. Mixes cleaning solutions, loads service cart and transports same to work areas
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, tile, fixtures and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions. Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and the like.
- Upon dismissal of patients, strips, cleans and makes beds with fresh linens, cleans other furniture and disposes of refuse by emptying wastebaskets. Restocks supplies of soap, tissues, towels, and other disposable items.
- Sweeps and mops limited floor areas such as patient rooms and Hospital offices. Vacuums carpets using light vacuum, spot cleans carpets using appropriate solutions and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly manner after cleaning assigned areas. Dry and wet mops large areas of floors, and operates buffing equipment.
- Cleans and performs routine maintenance on sanitation equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment needing further repair.
- Visually inspects area upon completion of cleaning to ensure appropriate levels of cleanliness and neatness have been achieved.
- Returns unused supplies to utility room, cleans carts and equipment and ensures items are stored in an orderly manner.
- Performs heavy‑duty cleaning of floors and carpets. In doing so, removes soil and finish of floors by using mechanical stripping equipment and shampoos carpeted floors by operating mechanical shampooing equipment.
- Washes, scrubs and disinfects walls, windows and doors and, when necessary, determines method of removing stains using a variety of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Gathers refuse from various Hospital locations and transports same in hand pushed cart to compactor or holding area. Following established sanitation procedures segregates bagged refuse and loads into compactor or holding area.
- Moves furniture and equipment (such as mattresses, beds, and cribs) by use of handcarts or dollies.
Working Conditions:
- Requires working with equipment or performing procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls.

Minimum Qualifications:

Where You Will Work:
The unit has 12 OR suites in the main hospital and 6 state of the art operating rooms in the Outpatient Center for Advanced Care. The surgical services division also provides pre and post-operative care focusing on the education of patients and families and providing smooth transitions between settings for the best patient outcomes. The OR performs all specialty surgeries except transplants, and offers state-of-the-art equipment and services. The surgery department is staffed 24 hours during the week.

- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

Summary: Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive respiratory care. The Respiratory therapist administers respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Major Responsibilities:
- Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patient utilizing a variety of skills such as pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiograph, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlates blood gases and electrolytes. Can identify and address the special needs of patient population specific to department services.
- Operates specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues. Assists physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.
- Provides medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
- Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper functionality of equipment. Troubleshoots equipment as necessary and identifies the need for service and/or repair.
