I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
2. Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
3. Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
4. Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
5. Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
6. Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
7. Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/ significant other.
8. Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
9. Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure. Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.
10. Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
11. Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Assists in education and development of staff.
12. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:
1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
5. Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.

II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
2. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.
Preferred:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.

Per Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Registered Nurses employed at the SEF (Satellite Emergency Facility) must have the following qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support or APLS (Advanced Pediatric Life Support). CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certified or required to obtain upon hire.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a full service hospital emergency department.
2. Provide traditional clinical emergency services at a full-service hospital emergency department (Marlborough Campus) for at least 25% of their total working hours per year.
Addendum for Milford Regional:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.
3. ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
4. PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
5. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

The unit is consistent of 46 beds, 8 of which are emergency behavioral health beds. Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate
- BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience: 1-3 years of Emergency Services experience. Emergency Department experience is preferred.

Alerts all appropriate staff members when patients have been accepted to homecare and post-acute rehab and provides transport times to staff if/when arranged.

Coordinates and arranges transportation for patients returning home via Veyo and M7 transport services.

- Provides scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures; anticipates provider needs.
- Competent in all roles for Cath/EP or IR.
- Demonstrates competence in operation of all imaging and related equipment; serves as a radiation expert resource.
- Provides clear communication, collaborates with providers and team regarding technical issue to ensure reliability of quality assurance in imaging, hemodynamics and oximetry.
- Ensures patient care is delivered in a safe manner and within scope of practice. Sterile technique followed with prepping, draping, assisting and circulating.
- Utilizes safety tools and tactics in all patient care interactions.
- Serves as patient advocate, ensures documentation, educational needs identified and plan of care agreed upon.
- Serves as resource to the team; provides inservices to team relating to technical skill enhancement, radiation safety, image quality, QA and closure device techniques.
- Assist with supply inventory, serves as technical expert and resource.
- Actively participates in site or system teams; attends site staff meetings and ongoing educational offerings as available.
Education/Experience Required:
- Current RT licensure in State of IL and current AART. BLS. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- 2-year Associate Degree from Accredited School of Radiology.
- Previous Imaging Experience Preferred in Xray, Imaging Special Procedures

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform lifting, pulling, pushing activities and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
