Columbia Pain & Spine Institute is an established interventional pain management practice serving the Portland metropolitan area. Our team provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic pain, with a strong focus on interventional care and coordinated specialty services.
We are seeking an experienced PM&R Physician (Physiatrist) or Neurologist to join our practice one day per week to perform EMG/NCS studies exclusively.
This is a highly focused position for a physician who enjoys electrodiagnostic medicine and is looking for a consistent, well-compensated one-day-per-week opportunity without the responsibilities of managing a general patient panel.
Schedule & Compensation
* $300 per hour
* 1099 independent contractor
* One full 8-hour day per week
* $2,400 per full day
* Approximately $124,800 annually if working 52 weeks
* 45-minute appointment blocks
* Consistent weekly schedule
* One regularly scheduled day per week
Scope of Practice
Your clinical responsibility will be EMG/NCS only.
There is no general pain management clinic, medication management, prescribing, ongoing patient management, hospital rounding, or call responsibility associated with this position.
The physician will:
* Perform EMG and nerve conduction studies
* Interpret electrodiagnostic findings
* Complete corresponding EMG/NCS reports and documentation
* Communicate clinically significant findings when appropriate
Patients are scheduled in 45-minute appointments, allowing adequate time for examination, testing, interpretation, and documentation.
Qualifications
* MD or DO
* Board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology
* Active or eligible for an Oregon medical license
* Demonstrated training and competency in EMG/NCS
* Comfortable independently performing and interpreting electrodiagnostic studies
* ABEM certification or additional electrodiagnostic training is welcomed but not required
Ideal Candidate
This opportunity may be particularly attractive to a physician who already has an established practice, hospital position, academic appointment, or part-time schedule and would like to dedicate one consistent day each week exclusively to electrodiagnostic medicine.
The role is intentionally straightforward: come in for one day, perform EMG/NCS studies, complete the associated reports, and have no responsibility for the patient's broader pain-management care.
Compensation: $300/hour | $2,400 per 8-hour day | 1099
Pay: $300.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
