JOB SUMMARY
General Description: Responsible for providing a wide range of mental health services to families with children that have emotional disturbances requiring intensive intervention using family and group treatment methods.
Responsibilities and Duties: Responsible for the evaluation and diagnoses of recipients. Provide services for families with children, within the home and the community, that have emotional disturbances requiring intensive intervention. Provide crisis intervention at the appropriate settings. Provide individual, mental, family and group therapy based on the person centered
plan and best practice standards. Other responsibilities include case management, consultation, and education. Provide consultation and coordination of services with other community agencies such as the Family Court and The Department of Human Services. Requires the ability to work with multiple agencies to facilitate community treatment plans and to work without direct supervision. Stays current with professional credentialing and knowledge base within scope of practice. Participate in staff meetings, committees and professional development activities. May be required to serve children aged 0 to 3.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
General Education
Graduate School: Master's Degree
Major: Social Work, Counseling, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy
Courses: Clinical areas, professional ethics.
Training: Cognitive Behavior Treatment, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care
training preferred.
Job-Related Experience: Sufficient experience working with children and families. Experience
with relevant population in a community mental health setting and Infant Mental Health
experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Michigan state licensure. Valid driver's license while operating
vehicle on agency business.
If serving children age 0 to 3: Master's degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited school, training, and experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families. Must qualify for a MDHHS Waiver of Provider Qualifications, if not currently endorsed at Level 2 or 3 by the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health. Must
minimally have Endorsement Level 2 by the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health; Level 3 preferred within 2 years of hiring. Must be a QIDP if serving children with a developmental disability.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Knowledge: Knowledge of community resources and systems, family dynamics and various procedures in petitioning for guardianship and commitment to psychiatric hospitals. Knowledge of various programs in the areas of health, mental health and social welfare. Knowledge of the characteristics and social aspects of mental health and emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities, psychopathology, family dynamics, social problems, community resources and interventions. Knowledge of child development research and its application in treatment.
Skills: Provides various modes of treatment to individuals, groups and families. Keeps abreast of current research literature and applies to practical situations with recipients. Computer experience with Windows environment to include clinical software. Telephone and communication skills.
Abilities: Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Good ability to gather, record and evaluate information; assess the needs of the recipient and formulate treatment plans. Complete reports and reviews. Develop clear and precise case studies to relate to and establish rapport with a wide range of people and recipients. Ability to work with individuals, families,
and groups and consult with other community agencies.
Physical Demands: Light Work - involves periods of sitting or standing interspersed with driving, walking and providing services. Travel is required daily.
Work Environment: Work is performed in residences or other community settings and may involve dealing with people under very trying or difficult circumstances.

*Key Responsibilities*
· Administer and manage intrathecal pump therapy for patients with chronic pain or spasticity.
· Perform pump refills, reprogramming, and troubleshooting in coordination with prescribing providers.
· Educate patients and caregivers on medication regimens, pump function, and signs of adverse reactions or infection.
· Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Community RN will support the CHS mission by promoting the physical and mental health of individuals through application of nursing processes, and by ensuring qualified staff through the delivery of Level 1 Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid instruction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Community RN, you will:
Promotes the physical and mental health of individuals served by coordinating and monitoring medical services, including health and medication services, in accordance with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in response to individual needs; providing at least 1.25 hours of service to each individual supported each month; participating in the admission of new individuals to assigned programs; clarifying medical information and advocating for individuals in hospital admissions and/or discharges, including communicating with relevant healthcare providers or pharmacists to review individual health statuses and medication plans; conducting full health assessments (including skin assessments) of individuals within 7 days of discharge from hospitalization or ER visits; coordinating ongoing care with clinics, external healthcare providers, hospitals and pharmacies; coordinating and reviewing lab work as required; traveling as needed to provide medical related support to individuals as directed; reviewing and teaching health and nutrition per individual needs; conducting Professional Assessment and Monitoring services as authorized; promoting individual empowerment and self-care activities including self-medication; and participating in on-call rotations with other community nursing staff, as directed and required by staffing and support needs;
Ensures medically qualified staff by providing nursing delegations related to medical diagnoses, allergies, medication, diet and special emergency plans related to ongoing medical conditions; becoming certified to instruct Level 1 Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid training; developing instruction methods and selecting teaching aids including, but not limited to handbooks, study aids, demonstration models, visual aids, online tutorials and reference works; conducting in-person, recorded, or virtual training via diverse and appropriate instructional methods including, but not limited to individual training, group instruction, lecture, demonstration, conferences, meetings, or workshops and testing trainees to measure progress and effectiveness; reporting progress of employees in training to departmental management when advisable; and supervising Community Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) services as required.
Communicates complex medical information to individuals served, staff, and other stakeholders by developing plans to ensure that the medical needs of individuals are met; following up with health related concerns identified by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) RN; completing the medical sections of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) which address health related concerns; participating in departmental and other staff meetings to ensure alignment, and direct knowledge transfer; and answering questions about the health care and condition of individuals with staff, guardians, service coordinators, as well as the individuals, themselves.
Supports regulatory compliance by documenting services in accordance with agency policy , and the requirements associated with Medicaid, DMH certification and other contractual compliance; conducting regular review of the accuracy and completion of medication administration documents at locations where individuals are supported; ensuring all CIMOR and APTS 2 referrals are completed in a timely fashion; inputting information into the state HRST system and updating monthly as needed; maintaining current and accurate knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures; protecting confidentiality of information and following HIPAA guidelines; maintaining licensing and certifications necessary for work; participating in continuing education to remain current with modern best practices and acting as local medical advisors in matters of infectious disease control, or health crises per policy and protocols, including serving as an infectious disease control authority if so directed by the CEO, or his/her designee.

Senior Medical Associates seeks a psychiatrist-leader to join a quality-focused team to predominantly clinically care for an underserved population at a brand new 23 hour Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), in the El Cajon neighborhood of San Diego.
SMA Psychiatry is a local multi-specialty medical group dedicated to caring for complex, underserved populations, known for great job satisfaction across nearly every level of behavioral healthcare in San Diego.
*ROLE:* The treatment population is adults in crisis ranging from involuntary to voluntary clients, novel neuropsychiatric presentations, chronic mental illness, substance use disorders and beyond. CSU clients are screened for those with an acuity appropriate to receive care in this freestanding setting rather than the emergency room.
You will perform initial, followup and discharge services as well as supervision of a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Benefit from close collaboration with psychiatric social workers, psychiatric nurses, peer support and other specialty providers.

Medical Director component includes leadership over our team at 3 local CSUs. This is a part time component of a predominantly-clinical role, and includes minimal after hours responsibility.
*EXPERIENCE:* Clinical acumen in Emergency Psychiatry, Consult Liaison Psychiatry or Inpatient Psychiatry and significant psychiatry leadership role is required. An ability to work in an fast-paced and established system is essential.
