Pay Range:
$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities:- Acts as a resource to employees and students, which includes training/orienting and providing day-to-day work direction. Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, monitors productivity, maintains appropriate staffing levels, directs efforts and provides guidance on more complex issues.
- Assists with human resource responsibilities, which may include interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale. Assists in interpreting department policies and procedures, and advises and updates staff on procedural changes.
- Cleans furniture and carpets in rooms, hallways, stairs, and offices using power equipment. Cleans and maintains floor surfaces with dry and wet mops. Refinishes floors, including machine scrubbing and/or stripping floors and applies floor finish. Operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical. Notifies appropriate person of safety hazards and of equipment needing repair. Cleans equipment, cart, and service closet daily. Assists in cleaning emergency spills as requested.
- Uses chemicals, cleaning products and equipment for their intended purpose to maintain a safe, cost-effective environment. Ensures all cleaning supplies are labeled and references Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as necessary.
- Sets up rooms for meetings and delivers audio visual equipment to the rooms.
- Cleans patient care areas, public/private restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells. Performs scheduled terminal and project cleaning in surgical areas. Cleans all environmental surfaces including ceilings and vents, walls, doors, furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, and windows. Dusts and mops floors in patient and exam rooms, corridors, stairwells, restrooms, and other areas of the facility.
- Gathers and disposes recyclables, trash, and medical waste. Collects hazardous trash following established infection control guidelines. Maintains documentation for disposal of waste streams.
- Sorts, stocks and delivers linens. Gathers and prepares soiled linen for transportation. Inventories linens, cleaning supplies and paper supplies and orders additional in a timely and cost effective manner. Fills and cleans supply dispensers. Replaces cubicle drapes and window coverings.
- Cleans and prepares dismissal and transfer units and certain equipment used in the care of patients and distributes non-medical supplies to specific areas.
- Reports any mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Education Required:

Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in environmental services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Ability to operate various types of cleaning equipment, including machine scrubbers, carpet cleaners, waste compactors, balers, etc.
- Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions and communicate with others.
- Ability to work alone and to understand the physical arrangements of the facilities.
- Performs tasks without disrupting operations of the doctors, nurses, patients, public, and other staff.
- Ability to set priorities, be aware of and follow department policies and procedures in all situations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to:
- lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to a maximum 5 ft.
- lift and carry up to 30 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to:
- push/pull up to 50 lbs with the assistance of other staff and/or devices.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach above shoulders and crawl to complete tasks.
- Must also be able to shovel and spread salt or sand on snow, so will be exposed to outside temperatures and weather conditions as necessary.
- Must have ability to walk or stand the majority of the shift.
- Must have ability to wear protective clothing as will have exposure to strong germicidal solutions, cleaning chemicals, temperature changes, soiled linen, infectious waste (blood and body fluids). Requires that incumbent be familiar with policies on handling infectious and hazardous waste.
- Must have ability to safely operate power-cleaning equipment such as machine scrubbers or carpet cleaners as well as non-power cleaning equipment and ladders telescoping up to 20 feet.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job, including telephones, zone phones, and pagers.

Identifies types of soiled and/or spotting and utilizes proper solutions as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.

Ensures that all chemicals and solutions are in properly labeled containers.
Adheres to safety regulations as outlined in departmental policy and procedure.
Move equipment and furniture for cleaning, rearrangement and/or relocation. Arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion, and in accordance with applicable floor plans, after cleaning assigned area(s).
Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs according to specifications of responsible department/individual as required.
Cleans equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment needing repair.

The Sepsis Coordinator is a health care professional working in collaboration with medical and hospital staff to identify and provide multidisciplinary care to the septic patient. The Coordinator provides clinical and professional expertise for patients, families and staff members. The Sepsis Coordinator facilitates the bedside clinical care of sepsis to assure that all septic patients receive comprehensive and timely treatment interventions that are consistent with national and Advocate Aurora Health Care's best practice recommendations through program development and establishment of evidence based processes.
- Major Responsibilities:
Site Sepsis Coordinator
1)Facilitates, plans, implements, and evaluates a sepsis program including all systems necessary for a multidisciplinary hospital based sepsis team
2)Utilize current electronic medical record to identify septic patients and facilitate data collection processes to monitor and analyze outcomes to integrate performance improvement activities. Recommend additional reports as necessary
3)Synthesize and interpret multiple sources of date to monitor metrics designed to evaluate efficacy of sepsis practices across the care continuum
4)Remain abreast of all appropriate federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines including Advocate Aurora policies and protocol changes.
5)Round on septic patients both Emergency and Inpatient and collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement sepsis bundles and best practice plans of care
6)Collaborate with front line team members to identify and address barriers to care delivery and/or implementation and develop improvement strategies
7)Monitor and disseminate outcomes relating to physician adherence to and documentation of sepsis bundles
8)Attend Sepsis Rapid Responses as available supporting the multidisciplinary team and address any obstacles to bundle adherence and provide specialty nursing service and patient care as appropriate

Major Responsibilities:
- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. - Performs routine responsibilities during interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security, including but not limited to inspections to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions, audits of Interim Life Safety Measures, patient valuables management, and thorough contraband searches. Assists team members, patients, and visitors by providing information, directions, and physical help. Administers Radiation Therapy treatments in compliance with physician prescription and treatment plan.
- Is able to reproduce setup in the treatment room as indicated in treatment chart utilizing appropriate positioning aides.
