We are seeking an experienced part- time (0.5 FTE) RN to join our Clinic Float Pool Team in the Milwaukee area. This will be a Monday-Wednesday position, 8- hour shifts only, with hours ranging from 7:00am-6:30pm, however typically is 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm.

The Ambulatory and Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high- quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery in an ambulatory care setting. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.

We’re Looking For:
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing (BSN preferred)
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical RN experience is preferred.
What You’ll Do:
Schedule: Monday-Friday position. 8- hour shifts, with hours ranging from 7:00am-6:30pm, however typically is 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm. This is a part-time (.5 FTE) position.
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Major Responsibilities:
- Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patient utilizing a variety of skills such as pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiograph, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlates blood gases and electrolytes. Can identify and address the special needs of patient population specific to department services.
- Operates specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues. Assists physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.
- Provides medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
- Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper functionality of equipment. Troubleshoots equipment as necessary and identifies the need for service and/or repair.
- Educates and instructs patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
- Facilitates clinical problem solving and collaborates with other departments to provide education on managing patients.
- Under physician direction, the respiratory therapist must be able to adapt and comply to policies and procedures for a variety of different service areas, perform tasks and/or special duties as required by assignment and maintain performance standards and organizational behaviors.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills. Provides clear, concise, timely, and accurate patient handoff.
- Promotes a culture of safety by recognizing and applying proper safety measures to prevent patient harm. Reports patient safety events and near misses in a timely manner. Seeks to identify potential safety issues and assists in the implementation of corrective actions.
- Teaches, educates, and precepts new teammates, orientees, and students.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months OR active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2023.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.

Major Responsibilities:
- Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patient utilizing a variety of skills such as pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiograph, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlates blood gases and electrolytes. Can identify and address the special needs of patient population specific to department services.
- Operates specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues. Assists physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.
- Provides medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
- Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper functionality of equipment. Troubleshoots equipment as necessary and identifies the need for service and/or repair.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.

- Serve as the on-site manager for assigned facilities, directly supervising Public Safety leaders and line officers to ensure effective Public Safety operations. Strategically allocate public safety resources in conjunction with facility and Public Safety leadership to maintain a reasonable standard of care and respond effectively to incidents and threats.
- Designs and directs the work of the Public Safety officers, and at select locations commissioned police officers. Selects, coaches, and develops Public Safety teammates, and trains supervisors to do the same. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
- Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets, verify payroll records, and ensure financial compliance with organizational standards.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education

$35.50 - $53.25Major Responsibilities:- Performs advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures such as M-mode, 2-D, Doppler and Color Flow Doppler utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques and makes the necessary measurements required for the interpretation to obtain accurate, high quality results (for example, muscle wall thickness, diameter of chambers, volume of chambers, valve areas, blood flow velocity and direction). May assist physicians in the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs by performing echocardiograph studies to aid them in proceeding with complex procedures to decrease risk factors.
- Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities and extends the scope of the examination appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when necessary and correlating invasive and noninvasive cardiac diagnostic test results with cardiac anatomy and function.
- Prepares patients for procedures and obtains clinical history from the patient including cardiac related physical findings and pertinent laboratory data in order to adapt the imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms to alleviate the probability of erroneous clinical interpretation of the echocardiogram.
- Assists in performing transesophageal studies with cardiologist, calculating appropriate measurements and sterilizes probe.
- Communicates clinical findings to the appropriate staff.
- Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment, reporting all malfunctions as appropriate.

Selects the correct order templates, discretely enters, and validate individual components, comments, footnotes, performing laboratory name and address, collection date and time, units of measure, reference ranges, abbreviations, and symbols. Discretely abstracts and imports laboratory results and other clinical documentation into the EHR. Records normal and abnormal findings. Ensures laboratory values are accurately entered and flagged to promptly alert patients and clinicians regarding normal and abnormal results.
Locates or creates the appropriate patient, encounter, and/or order. Correctly paginates and classifies documentation to the appropriate document type and description. Ensures appropriate security levels, protection, and destruction of electronic and physical PHI information according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Readily adapts to new and/or evolving laboratory tests, parameters, reference ranges, and regulations. Validates all data points and laboratory codes and uses critical thinking skills to identify and investigate questionable information and troubleshoot issues. Escalates issues and reports patterns of concern to leadership timely.
Performs quality assurance of scanned documentation to ensure clinical documentation is scanned to the correct patient, encounter, document type, and orderable in a timely manner according to Health Information Management policy. Verifies the electronic information against the paper document to validate accuracy, clarity, and legibility
Completes timely error correction or notification process; including re-resulting or deleting documentation as needed. Ensure secure retention and destruction of electronic and physical PHI in accordance with applicable regulations and policies
Communicates with patient care and external performing laboratories via phone, email, fax, Epic In-Basket, and other methods to provide education, STAT laboratory data entry services and other required information.

Typically requires 1- 2 years of experience gained through working in a Health Information Management, Medical Laboratory department or other related health care setting.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills with the ability to learn new computer software systems such as Epic, Extract LabDE, Solarity, OnBase, Microsoft 365 and legacy archives.
High attention to detail and accuracy with frequent interruptions.
Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with time constraints.
Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
Works collaboratively in a diverse team environment with openness and respect to learn, create and problem solve.
Ability to learn when receiving constructive feedback by leadership or peers and taking personal ownership for success
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job, performs daily routine maintenance of equipment
