Responsible for coordinating the approval processes and conduct of research protocols, such that the integrity and quality of the clinical/translational research is maintained and the research is conducted in accordance within all policies, under occasional guidance..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proficiently prepares and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures and federal regulations
- Accurately and compliantly prepares and maintains documents required to be maintained internally and available for regulatory authorities and/or the sponsor prior to, during and after the conduct of a clinical/translational trial. Participates in periodic site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation and research procedures
- Identifies and procures equipment and supplies needed to fulfill project requirements (locally and across multiple sites, if required)
- Participates in the determination of eligible candidates for study participation, assuring participants fulfill eligibility requirements. Strives to ensure studies are completed in a timely manner through implementing effective screening and recruitment strategies and completing required documentation. Assesses and evaluates potential participants pertinent medical and historical information to ensure only appropriate subjects are enrolled in clinical/translational trials and remain eligible for continued participation
- Records data from source documentation and/or participant interaction onto case report forms (either paper or electronic) with awareness and attention to the requirements for accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Attends to query resolution in a timely manner. Assures research information is collected and stored in a manner that is compliant with regulations/policies and good clinical practice. Participates in site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation, critical documents and research procedures
- Performs packaging and ships study specimens (blood, urine, etc.) to the sponsor or laboratory in accordance with sponsor and shipping guidelines and regulations, maintaining appropriate documentation
- With direction, develops and manages study budgets, monitoring efficient invoicing and taking appropriate action to maintain clinical trial billing compliance, providing reports investigators, department administration and funding agencies
- Serves as an advocate for human subjects by establishing and maintaining communication with Investigators, research staff, Sponsors, participants and representatives of professional organizations, participant advocates, and the public responsible for, or concerned about, protections for human participants of research and through ongoing monitoring of trial processes and participants
- Participates in the ongoing informed consent process, ensuring that human subjects, their families, and other health care providers clearly understand what is expected of and from them in the course of participating in a clinical/translational trial
- Participates in research related programs, such as the Clinical/translational Research Staff Council and its activities by submitting issues or suggesting solutions, and reviewing Council information, by attending meetings open to research staff and by sharing information with other research personnel

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Clinical Research (Novice): Can research problems that span several areas of the department. Develops and writes basic trial protocols. Knows what information is available in the company. Designs data collection forms. Has developed networking skills which assist in researching issues.
- Study Design & Conduct (Novice): Applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within the life cycle of a study.
- Project Coordination (Novice): Reviews specific project related documents for completeness and accuracy and ensures project status reports are received, when due, from project managers for all approved projects. Provides administrative and logistics support for various project meetings, training, workshops and facilitated sessions. Coordinates and tracks all work requests to ensure on time project delivery. Keeps project plans updated and ensures key milestones and dependencies are understood. Responsible for record keeping for project meetings such as issues logs, gap analysis sheets, meeting minutes, making copies, team event planning and execution, team travel, on-boarding activities for contractors or consultants, set up and maintenance of project repositories.

JOB SUMMARYThe Case Manager assists with coordination of services through the continuum of care and in balancing quality patient care with cost-effective utilization of resources.
Hours/Shift
The applicant needs to be flexible enough to work hours during the week and on the weekends. The majority of the shifts will be on the weekends 8am-4:30pm or 9am-5:30pm. It is possible that an occasional 12-hour shift will be needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinates admission, treatment, and discharge plans and ensures proper utilization of hospital services • Ensure care is provided in the most appropriate level for meeting patient care needs • Serves as a liaison to ensure appropriate reimbursement for hospital stays and services TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES • Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient assessments and evaluations in practical applications of a difficult nature. Conducts primary care patient interviews and physical examinations. Conducts inquiry with a thorough series of questions when patients state an ailment or complaint in order to accurately identify and elaborate on the problem. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to role model and coach less experienced peers. • RN Access Patient Education (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient education in practical applications of a complex nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering patient and family education services without requiring support and instruction from others. • Evidence-Based Practice (Intermediate): Demonstrates ability to integrate evidence from multiple sources and determine if a practice change should occur. In your pivotal role as Program Manager, you will serve as the primary coordinator and database administrator for the Allied Health & Nurse Scholars Visiting Student program, overseeing end-to-end tracking, onboarding, and institutional coordination for visiting learners across Vanderbilt University Medical Center. You will maintain accurate records and analyze and synthesize data from multiple systems to produce monthly reports, identify trends, forecast visiting student activity, support strategic decision-making, and communicate actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
You will lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including CPiAH requirements, Workday student entry and termination, student transfers and rotation extensions, compliance verification, and distribution of pre-arrival communications and exit surveys to clinical departments and sending institutions. You will manage multiple enterprise platforms and data sources—such as the Allied Health & Nurse Scholars Student Database, Orbund, VUMC Access, and the Learning Exchange—to ensure data integrity, student status accuracy, credential verification, and audit-ready documentation.
You will act as the primary point of contact for initiating and managing affiliation agreements and contracts between VUMC and allied health schools. You will independently manage a large contract portfolio (200+ agreements) in PEER, including new contracts, renewals, amendments, and expirations, and route documents for execution via Adobe Sign while maintaining contract-related correspondence and inbox support.
You will support enterprise needs tied to teaching activity tracking for Medicare reimbursement by leveraging visiting student data and producing Excel-based reports for leadership and clinical departments. You will also maintain and update key communication tools and program resources, including GAL-based email inboxes for visiting students, SharePoint content, the Allied Health Visiting Student website, and MS Forms/Power Apps intake and request forms, along with onboarding guides and links. Throughout, you will provide responsive customer service via meetings, phone calls, and email with students, clinical departments, and Vanderbilt Health partners, and you will submit operational support tickets (Pegasus/eStar), coordinate badge requests through the Vanderbilt Health Card Office, and submit Microsoft Store F3 requests for email access as needed.
This role will allow you to influence the experience of hundreds of students, academic partners, and clinical departments. You will help shape how future healthcare professionals engage with Vanderbilt and directly support workforce development efforts. The Supervisor ensures exceptional customer service by managing daily call center operations, staffing, performance, training, and quality assurance activities. Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.

- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Department Summary
Vanderbilt Health is home to one of the world’s leading heart transplant programs, recognized for exceptional patient outcomes, groundbreaking innovation, and expertise in caring for complex, high-risk patients. The program provides advanced treatment for conditions including cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and graft failure requiring retransplantation. In 2025, Vanderbilt set a world record by performing 210 adult and pediatric heart transplants, demonstrating the depth of experience and clinical excellence that distinguish the program. Vanderbilt’s multidisciplinary team also performs specialized heart-kidney, heart-liver, and heart-lung transplants for patients experiencing multi-organ failure.
As a national leader in transplant medicine, Vanderbilt offers innovative therapies and mechanical circulatory support technologies, including ventricular assist devices (VADs), total artificial hearts, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The program has pioneered advances such as transplantation of hearts from hepatitis C-positive donors and the use of ex vivo heart perfusion technology, expanding donor availability and improving transplant success. The Diabetes Program at Monroe Carell is one of the nation’s largest pediatric diabetes centers, providing comprehensive, family-centered care to more than 3,000 children with diabetes across Tennessee and eight surrounding states. Through the Vanderbilt Eskind Pediatric Diabetes Clinic and regional locations in Franklin, Murfreesboro, Jackson, Clarksville, and Cookeville, our multidisciplinary team delivers expert care tailored to the unique needs of children and their families. What You'll Do:
The person in this role will work a hybrid of Radiology Resource nursing and Nuclear Medicine.
The Resource RN will float around between MRI, ROCU (Recovery and Observation Care Unit for IR patients), Pet Floro, CT and IV Cubby and will act as a resource to various areas of Radiology. The person in this role will be the first to respond to a stat or rapid call, access port, monitor pace makers, etc.
Nuclear medicine nurse responsibilities include:
Cardiac stress perfusion studies on mostly adults but also on children
Stress testing in the PET department. Most of the nuclear stress testing is done on inpatients. We generally use Regadenoson, Adenosine, Dobutamine or treadmills to accomplish this.
We do Viability studies in PET to test for hibernating myocardium using high dose insulin gtts combined with glucose and potassium.
We do brain mappings/ stress with Diamox or adenosine.
Nurses perform sarcoid studies in PET using heparin.
We monitor mapping patients after procedures in Interventional Radiology.
Coronary CTAs are done regularly utilizing metoprolol IV, diltiazem IV and nitroglycerin.
Help thyroid cancer patients with prepping them for Iodine therapies and testing.
We teach the nuclear medicine students the patient care curriculum in the allied health program. The main topics are direct patient care, vital signs, and EKG rhythm interpretation.

POSITION SUMMARY:Vanderbilt Health is seeking a motivated, patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our team at our brand-new West End Endocrinology and Rheumatology Clinic. This is a unique opportunity to help establish imaging services in a newly built specialty clinic featuring state-of-the-art imaging technology, including brand-new radiography and bone densitometry equipment.
This position will primarily perform bone density (DEXA) examinations and diagnostic X-ray studies while supporting a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced outpatient environment and be excited about helping build and grow services in a new clinical space.
