Provide, under direct supervision, support for specified research projects; collect, assess, and communicate data/results. Assist in general laboratory operation and inventory..

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
The Division of Genetic Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology is a robust and dynamic division, innovating across its research and clinical missions to integrate genome variation and function to better define biological mechanisms of human disease.
A leader in personalized medicine, the division aims to understand how basic molecular, biochemical and cellular processes are altered in various pathological conditions, seeking to identify novel therapeutic interventions for human diseases.
The division is closely tied to the Vanderbilt Genetics Institute, which leads the nation in mapping the complex interactions between our genome and human health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Under supervision, run experiments, assays, and record results
• Read and follow experimental protocols (May include animal handling, tissue culture, etc.)
• Compile and communicate results to supervisor
• Follow University safety protocols (may include use of combustibles, radioactivity, toxic material, and/or carcinogenics)
• Perform calculations involving molarity, % solutions, and serial dilutions
• Prepare and operate equipment in experimental procedures
• May include blood gas analyzer, centrifuge, pH meter, spectrophotometer, autoclave, scintillation counter, electrophoresis unit, analytical balance, etc.
• Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer and university guidelines.
• Ensure Laboratory is prepared for experiments
• Maintain inventories,
• Maintain sterile conditions as required

Works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team providing healthcare in inpatient and/or outpatient health care settings. Didactic education, clinical competency and national certification in identified area of clinical practice. Manages women's health care, focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth, the post-partum period, care of the newborn, and the family planning and gynecologic needs of women. Practice within the health care system and perform consultation, collaborative management, or referral, as indicated by the health status of the patient. Considers the interpersonal, inter-relationship of gender, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, economic status and socio-political power differentials. With advanced knowledge of nursing theory and its application, the CNM demonstrates medical knowledge, clinical judgment, technical competence, professionalism, interpersonal communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and is responsibility for life-long professional development and competency validation. Practice in accord with the Standards for the Practice of Midwifery, as defined by the American College of Nurse-Midwives..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care.
In collaboration, provides healthcare services for primary, acute and complex care of patients and manages patient's overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
Orders, performs, interprets and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
Forms differential diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions.
Prescribes therapeutic interventions both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and surgical, needed to achieve expected outcomes.
Utilizes evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care; Initiates appropriate referrals and consultations; Provides specialty specific consultation services upon request and within specialty scope of practice; Facilitates the patient’s transition between and within health care settings, such as admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Independently collects, reviews, organizes, assembles, and maintains regulatory documents/binders (paper and electronic) for assigned clinical trials, assuring the research information is collected and stored in a manner that is compliant with regulations/policies and good clinical practice.
Independently prepares, reviews, and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications, and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and federal regulations while maintaining timelines for studies from start-up to close-out.
Proficient with OnCore, Veeva, and project management tools. With occasional guidance, initiates and performs quality control (QC) audits of regulatory documents from OnCore and Veeva. Generates QC Report summarizing the findings.
Review pertinent regulations and guidance to develop proactive solutions to regulatory issues and challenges as evident by monitor/auditor follow-up letters. Assist with building relationships with internal/external stakeholders (i.e., monitors, auditors, and sponsors) by fostering a culture of respect and practicing active communication.

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.
2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.
3. Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patient’s health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for which care is provided.
4. Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheters removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
8. Based on area of assignment may assist with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.

The License & Certifications Senior Data Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of employee license and certification records. This role analyzes data from systems such as Workday, monitors compliance requirements, generates reports, partners with leaders and departments across the organization, and collaborates with external vendors to support license and certification verification processes. The specialist tracks upcoming expirations, identifies data discrepancies, supports ongoing data quality initiatives, and helps ensure required credentials are accurately documented for clinical and operational staff..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
. Audit employee and contingent worker data ensuring data integrity policy, compliance and data integrity. Audits to be performed through individual transactions and through systems generated reports. Ensure appropriate levels of approval are obtained.
· Monitor overall transactions to ensure target completeness meets service level agreements.
· Conducts extensive data analysis and research, demonstrating proficiency in manipulating, analyzing, and identifying trends in results.
· Point of contact for error resolution and working with other HR areas and departments to resolve.
· Partner with HR sustainment team and COEs on process improvement, EIB loads, error resolution, system testing.
· Review incomplete transactions and follow up with appropriate parties, when needed, ensuring timely completion to comply with hiring, benefits and payroll deadlines.
· Supports data auditing goals through standardized, transactional processes, and optimal use of technology resources.
· Responsible for leading data quality audits, identifying discrepancies and errors within large datasets, and recommending improvements to data practices.
· Evaluates, assesses and responds promptly to customer inquiries through Workday case, phone, and email.
· May require specialized knowledge of specific data elements or subject matter.
· Partnering with learning & development to create and update QRG’s and job aids. Educating departmental administrative areas on transactional processes.

20. Performs and monitors patient teaching according to the policy and procedures. Anticipates, modifies and adapts the teaching plan to accommodate the patient and family. Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan on a regular basis.
21. Coordinates care so that medications are administered as ordered by a physician and in compliance with the Medication Administration Standards. Reports findings of discrepancies to the primary RN and Administrative staff.
22. Collaborates with the primary RN in order to facilitate a change in the level of care in compliance with the change in level of care standard. Reports changes in level of care to primary RN and Administrative staff.
23. Understands the stages of death and dying as it relates to home health patients. Understands nursing care needed for terminally ill, acutely ill patient
24. Performs post mortem care as needed.
25. LPNs are responsible for the following technical skills and duties:
· IV Therapy including Ports, PICCs, TLC catheters, sterile dressing changes, antibiotic therapy-no PPIs, TPN and Chemo Infusions, no titration of pain pumps. LPN cannot pull PICC.
· Wound vacs, all aspects of sterile wound care, Pleurx drain care, Ostomy care, Trach care, Gtube care, and Foley and suprapubic caths. LPN cannot remove OnQ pain pump removal (placed by ortho).
· Labs via peripheral and central access.
· Revolution Device changes.
· Complete head to toe assessments.

5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. What You'll Do
As a Physical Therapist, you will:
Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions for patients with a variety of orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, medical, and functional impairments.
Treat patients across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy settings as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and recovery strategies.
Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Promote safe mobility, functional independence, and successful discharge planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides and documents assessment of strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, and motor function.
• Provides and documents various treatments including exercise, electrical stimulation, hot packs or cold compresses, ultrasound to relive paid or reduce swelling.
• Provides and documents patient education regarding treatment plan, activity, exercises, assistive and/or adaptive devices such as crutches, walkers, prostheses, and wheelchairs.
• Assesses wounds, implementing the appropriate skin care protocol.
• Performs duties and responsibilities with indirect supervision and must frequently make independent decisions.
• Participates in discharge plan rounds as needed.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Rehab Therapist Patient Documentation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in documentation practices. Documents in the appropriate templates and utilizes only approved abbreviations within patient documentation. Meets institutional standards for quality and timeliness of documentation.
• Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in evaluating patients with physical deficits including impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function by obtaining information pertinent to the assessment and administering and scoring standardized tests and objective measures of deficit areas. Selects appropriate measures and performs a functional assessment to document patient's status requiring skilled therapy. Interprets the results of the assessment and their significance to the patient, family, referring physician and other members of the health care team.
• Treatment Implementation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care. Able to modify treatment plan as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services including progression of treatment throughout course of care, and revision of treatment interventions of goals not met. May supervise and direct certified athletic trainers (PT only), physical therapist / occupational therapist assistants, technicians and volunteers and students. Selects and follows correct protocol for care and utilize evidence based treatments. Has completed at least one year of clinical experience in treatment implementation.
• Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient proficiency in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals. • Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in evaluating patients with physical deficits including impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function by obtaining information pertinent to the assessment and administering and scoring standardized tests and objective measures of deficit areas. Selects appropriate measures and performs a functional assessment to document patient's status requiring skilled therapy. Interprets the results of the assessment and their significance to the patient, family, referring physician and other members of the health care team.
• Treatment Implementation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care. Able to modify treatment plan as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services including progression of treatment throughout course of care, and revision of treatment interventions of goals not met. May supervise and direct certified athletic trainers (PT only), physical therapist / occupational therapist assistants, technicians and volunteers and students.
