Specimen Management 3rd ShiftJob Summary:
11p-730a shiftTriages and processes advanced specimen independently. Works closely with all laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers including advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution. Performs packing and shipping of laboratory specimens to be sent out to referring laboratories.

Sorting, triaging, receiving, sending, processing and batching specimens
Accessioning specimens received with a requisition
Processing samples pre-analytically for testing
Processing test add-ons and resolving any pre-analytical specimen or test issues
Providing general clerical support

Laboratory Practices (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate laboratory practices in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
Quality Assurance (Novice): Has provided continuous analysis and evaluation of assignment work processes, constantly striving for improvement in the way tasks and activities are accomplished by questioning their value to the process and contributing creative solutions. Has participated in the process of establishing, communicating and monitoring standards for quality and excellence. Demonstrates the ability to actually work on and improve a current business process, product or service.
Pathology (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of pathology in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.

Customer Service (Intermediate): Keeps management informed on all aspects of one or more projects. Takes personal responsibility to ensure external and internal customer satisfaction is met despite pressures and/or significant obstacles. Discusses options with customer for alternative ways to meet expectations cost-effectively and efficiently. Commands respect and confidence from customers, and identifies, influences and creates business opportunities. Negotiates with customers for changes in service levels, understanding the business rationale for those changes. Deals with unexpected customer demands smoothly and without conflict.
Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.

The coordinator will be part of a large, longitudinal National Institutes of Health-funded study. This study focuses on understanding risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline in aging adults. Specific coordinator responsibilities are described below..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Protocol Implementation & Coordination
Approximately half of the position is participant-facing and focused on protocol implementation and coordination of study visit activities, such as:
- Screening participants and assessing study eligibility
- Administering and scoring cognitive protocols
- Collecting medical history information from participants and their loved ones
- Accompanying participants to visit procedures, such as blood work, brain MRI, and cardiac imaging appointments

The Vanderbilt Gynecologic Oncology team is dedicated to providing advanced, compassionate care for women diagnosed with cancers and precancerous conditions of the female reproductive system. Serving patients with both routine and highly complex diagnoses, the team delivers state-of-the-art treatments, innovative surgical procedures, and personalized care plans for cancers affecting the uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vulva, and vagina. The practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gynecologic oncology conditions, including cervical and endometrial cancers, ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers, HPV-related cancers, gestational trophoblastic disease, pelvic masses, genetic susceptibility to gynecologic cancers, and precancerous changes of the cervix, vagina, and vulva. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the team is committed to providing exceptional clinical outcomes while supporting patients throughout every stage of their care journey.

- Coordinates surgery schedule with patient, physician, and operating room in support of surgery scheduling functions.

SHIFT

Join Vanderbilt University Hospital’s Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing team, providing specialized nursing care and clinical expertise to patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs. This PRN opportunity supports weekend coverage and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams across the hospital to promote high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Ideal Candidate:
- WOC certification required
- Approximately 5 years of relevant nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge of wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary care teams

JOB SUMMARYFacilitates and coordinates the evaluation of potential transplant and/or living donor candidates. Assists with coordination of care and discharge process for recipients hospitalized for transplantation and living donation and post-operative complications. LifeFlight Ground EMS started with a single ambulance in the fall of 2011, and after several expansions now includes a fleet pf 21 Advance Life Support (ALS) equipped ground ambulances operating from five locations in the Middle Tennessee areas: Nashville, Wilson County (Lebanon), Coffee County (Tullahoma), Montgomery County (Clarksville) and, Bedford County (adjacent to Vanderbilt Bedford). These ambulances predominantly focus on interfacility transfers and discharges from Vanderbilt affiliated medical facilities, with the ability to also support non- Vanderbilt facilities.
