The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health has received the highest accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP). About our program:
The Banner Health New Nurse Experience Program is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.
Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all our new grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there!
The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into.
Most new nurses will work three 12-hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members, Day shift 7:00am-7:30pm

Requirements to Apply Online:
- Recent or upcoming graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Current BLS card (through either American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI) or ability to obtain certification before a start date
- No more than 12 months of RN experience
Preferred Criteria:
- Candidates with an active RN licensed
- Previous clinical healthcare experience
- BSN is preferred - open to ADN at select locations

Benefits/Compensation:
This is a full time, benefitted, and paid position. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential, when applicable. All New Grad RN positions are eligible for Banner Health’s “Total Rewards Compensation Package”, which includes and is not limited to, Health/Dental/Vision insurance (if employee desires), PTO/Sick time accrual, and 401K matching. Benefits begin the 1st of the month following your start date.
Unit Overview:
This 30-bed unit is a blend of Telemetry and Med/Surg patients. Every room within the unit is Telemetry capable and utilizes the latest technology including smart phones with Care Aware connect as a mode of communication.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
In a Home Health setting, team members must be able to operate personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license. Auto insurance coverage is also required to be active and maintained.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, Banner Home Care/Hospice or Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility. Employees working in the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit must possess an Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working in any Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health role in Arizona must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

Standardized patients participate in the training and assessment of healthcare students and professionals through their trained portrayal of signs and symptoms consistent with specific disease states. Exercise SpecialistThe Exercise Specialist provides clinical support to Cardiovascular Services and/or Cardiac / Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Cardiovascular Services: Performs all physician ordered non-invasive cardiology tests, such as 12 lead and signal averaged EKGs, a variety of cardiac stress tests in CVS and Nuclear Medicine, Holter and event monitoring, EKG's, supervises stress tests, assists physicians and other professionals in stress testing or particularly delicate or sensitive testing situations. Supervises pharmaceutical stress tests and administers Lexiscan and Definity per department policy.
Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Supervision of Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II and Phase III monitoring of patients. Prescribing phase II patients with exercise prescription per department policy. Working with cardiac rehab Phase II and Phase III patients supervising patient exercise, determination of patient exercise prescriptions and performance of body fat analysis. Documents patient performance and individual treatment plans. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

FUNCTIONS OF EXERCISE SPECIALIST IN NONINVASIVE CARDIOLOGY
- Familiarizes patient with test to be performed and preparation for the test; obtains any relevant information from the patient and available clinical records, check that labs are negative, and evaluate medication list.
- Monitors equipment during testing and makes adjustments as necessary; informs physician or other members of the professional staff of EKG abnormalities.
- Performs EKGs when patient condition warrants.
- Supervision and administration of Stress tests for review by the Physician; observes the monitor; operates recording devices; monitors the patient for signs of distress; performs other activities requested by the physician; starts an IV line according to procedure.
- Evaluates patient for appropriateness of the test and discuss potential alternatives with the ordering physician.
- Opens up the labs performing duties on the opening list to prepare rooms for the cases of the day.
- Prepares patient for procedure; places electrodes and leads on patient; applies pulse ox; applies B/P equipment.
- Prepares and administers Lexiscan per procedure and all IV tubing required for the test. Properly explains procedures to the patients and answers all questions.
- Obtains appropriate medication from Pyxix for Nuc Med Stress Tests.
- Administers Definity per protocol during Exercise Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo.
- Performs clerical functions; answers phones, schedules cases, arrange for transport, copies studies on to CD, acquires patient demographic information in history; and sends daily schedules to other hospital departments.
- Attaches electrodes to patient’s arms, legs, and chest area, connects electrode leads to appropriate testing equipment.
- Applies event and Holter monitors and instructs patient in appropriate use.
- Performs Holter scanning of tape from Holter monitor worn by patient; adjusts scanner controls and observes screen to identify irregularities or verifies data provided by computer program; prints sections of abnormal heart patterns or full disclosure tape for interpretation by physician.
- Enters necessary patient information test results, charges and other appropriate information into computer.
- Performs minor preventive maintenance on equipment, cleans and stocks cardiac testing department.
FUNCTIONS OF EXERCISE SPECIALIST IN CARDIAC AND/OR PULMONARY REHABILITATION
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
- Completes an intake assessment, re-assessment and discharge paperwork in timely manner.
- Attends case review meetings with physicians and coordinates patients care accordingly.
- Works with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and extensions as needed.
- Coordinates case review meetings with the staff and physicians and coordinates patient care accordingly.
- Familiarizes patient with evaluation to be performed and preparation for the evaluation; discuss Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) chart, Shortness of Breath (SOB) chart, and Pain scale with patient acknowledgement of understanding of each, obtains any relevant information from the patient about recent activity level, pain, limitations to exercise, and available clinical records.
- Teaches patient or attaches electrodes to patient’s chest area, connects electrode leads to appropriate monitoring equipment. Discuss cleaning of equipment when done with the session. Obtains any relevant daily information i.e. medication changes, daily weights, blood sugars.
- Monitors equipment during exercise and makes adjustments as necessary; informs appropriate departments of equipment abnormalities.
- Presentation of "Exercise" education forum , presenting information on exercise intensity, duration and frequency. Provides an atmosphere designed for patient interaction and questions.
- Supervises Phase III Cardiac rehabilitation patients; evaluating changes in each patients heart rate zone, evaluating appropriate BP and BS response, evaluating EKG strip for rhythm changes, Monitoring weight changes and Medication changes discussing these changes with patient, Documentation of changes in the patients medical history.
- Performs Phase II floor responsibilities; Setting equipment appropriately based on patient Exercise Rx, evaluating RPE, SOB, and pain as well as HR for appropriate changes to Exercise Rx, Evaluation of patient for problems with activity taking appropriate action in decreasing intensity or stopping exercise, Evaluate THZ for appropriateness and make changes when necessary, Documentation of changes on the daily worksheet.
- Monitoring of Phase II classes with evaluation of; Rhythms for abnormalities and documenting when necessary, Patient HR and if in THZ evaluating the necessity of changing THZ based on patients performance, adjusting equipment settings for patient/HR tolerance, weekly and daily weight changes, Fasting/Pre/Post blood glucose levels for appropriateness of exercise and response to exercise, taking appropriate action when abnormal, proper documentation of patients performance.
- Opens and closes exercise room; Unlocking cupboards, retrieving patient charts, performing daily Defibrillator check, daily Glucometer test, preparation for new patients, participates in “team huddle” to discuss assignment of daily tasks.
- Prepares and gives exercise prescriptions; Evaluates each patients THZ and appropriately assigns home exercise parameters, discuss patient goals for home activity and apply appropriate setting for home equipment when possible. Dispense information on purchase of home equipment such as Treadmills, Bikes, and Pulse meters.
- Supervises exercise evaluations providing Exercise Rx following each evaluation for the Cardiologist to approve.
- Completes exercise portion of Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) for review by the Physician, to establish patient goals and treatment plan for achieving these goals.
- Performs EKGs when patient condition warrants.
- Maintains proficiency with Glucose meter and performs patient tests when needed, and understands how and when to treat based on results.
- Documents patient status and goals in patient’s chart and computer.

Ensure that all documentation is timely, accurate and complete. The RN is responsible for completing the Workday CBL –“Swing beds”. This is an annual CBL that describes the difference in a swing bed patient versus an in-patient or observation patient. The RN will understand the documentation differences and the specific care required for each individual swing bed patient.
Bronson South Haven Hospital and Bronson Lakeview Hospital employees who are approved to work in a Swing Bed Facility only: Employees may be expected to cover shifts at Bronson Lakeview Hospital and/or Bronson South Haven Hospital depending on patient acuity and staffing needs.
Virtual Registered Nurse (VRN) Role: The virtual registered nurse leverages technology to deliver patient care remotely, collaborating with bedside staff and the broader care team to ensure quality outcomes and timely discharge. Core responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Conducting admission screening, patient/family education, discharge planning, and medication dual acknowledgments via secure digital platforms.
- Completing diagnostic testing questionnaires and supporting patient safety initiatives.

Registered Respiratory Therapist 72 hr/pp 7p-7a Children's Hospital NightsUnder general supervision from the Respiratory manager and/or Director, and in accordance with the policies and guidelines established within the organization. Routinely functions in patient care areas of the hospital. The respiratory therapist follows the provider prescription and/or established policies and procedures, initiates and administers respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities and deficiencies. Serves as a resource of knowledge to providers, nurses and other hospital team members regarding advanced respiratory diagnosis and rehabilitation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (AS), Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan license is required.
For anyone hired after 2004, Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials (RRT) is required within 1 year of hire.
Must attend courses through AHA: BLS, ACLS, PALS and AAP-NRP to become certified per site requirements. All sites require BLS certification within 3 months of hire. ACLS, PALS and NRP (site specific certifications are required within 1 year of date of hire
FOR BLH AND BSH ONLY:
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (certificate, diploma, AS degree) and 5 years of experience.

Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time. Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., up to 50 pounds) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients. Occasionally required to stoop, crouch or kneel, and move quickly to gather equipment and medication to respond to emergency situations. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Demonstrates adherence to the standards as provided in the Bronson “Commitment to Customer Service”, i.e., Commitment Statements, Quality Service Standards and the Interaction Process which includes the Service Recovery “AAA Action Plan”. NATURE AND SCOPE: This position interacts with providers, nursing, ancillary staff, respiratory therapy staff, patients and families.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supports the mission, vision and values of the hospital.
Responsible for working in a safe and protective manner at all times keeping in mind that safety and environmental hazards are the responsibility of all employees for themselves, other staff members and patients.
Provides patient’s respiratory therapy and communicates findings to appropriate personnel. Evaluates objective and subjective information in a logical and thorough manner. Discusses conclusions with providers and nurses to resolve patient problems promptly.
Routinely evaluates blood gases (both invasive and non-invasive) in a logical and thorough manner. Discusses conclusions and suggests therapy changes based on ABG results.
Communicates ventilator recommendations to providers and nursing based on patient evaluation and blood gases.
Checks that provider orders are complete and administers therapy accordingly.
Performs all respiratory therapies (age-specific) in accordance with provider orders, protocols, or guidelines.
- Explains therapy to the patient in understandable terms according to age/learning capabilities.
- Assesses the patient’s response to therapy and makes recommendations to the provider accordingly or according to protocol guidelines if appropriate.
- Administers, assesses and titrates oxygen therapy
- Assesses patient response and modifies therapy according to respiratory protocols.
- Notifies Manager, nursing personnel and providers of any adverse patient reactions.
- Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and assists with “Code Blue”, as necessary.
- Arrives at “Code Blue” in a timely manner. Performs appropriate life support according to BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS guidelines as per site specific responsibilities
- Assists provider or performs (If competency complete) with tracheal intubation.
- Routinely maintains artificial airways (endotracheal tube and tracheostomy tubes) in accordance with department policy (i.e. suctioning and securing endotracheal tubes).
- Maintains stability of artificial airways. Assure tube security and repositions endotracheal tubes according to policy.
- Is able to appropriately utilize infant and pediatric resuscitation equipment in emergency situations, including PEEP adaptions and pop-off valves.
Provides assistance with patient and family education along with other members of the healthcare team.
Performs basic pulmonary function testing, EKG’s, arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, end tidal CO2 monitoring and transcutaneous oximetry in accordance with outlined departmental policies and procedures.
Assists with bedside bronchoscopies, intubations, and extubations in accordance with outlined departmental policies and procedures,
Performs naso-tracheal, endo-tracheal, tracheal suction and sample collections in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Must be able to assist with patient transport via walking, wheelchair, gurney, or crib for safe delivery of continuum of care. May be responsible for assisting with ambulance transports within one facility to another.

Imaging Services Assistant - Part Time, Benefit Eligible - Mary Coleman Breast Health Center at Bronson Battle CreekThe Imaging Services Assistant provides support in the operation of the Radiology department. Under general supervision, and according to established procedures, and depending on area(s) of expertise and assignment, the Imaging Services Assistant is responsible for maintaining record flow, patient flow, and processes in the Radiology department. The Radiology Services Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer services to the Bronson organization to patients and employees. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate direct competencies specific to the population served.
Work which produces very high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g. CRT work 90 percent of the time, and work involving extremely close tolerances and considerable hand/eye coordination for sustained periods of time.

Patient Representative -BMH Emergency Department- Part Time - DaysPatient Representatives are instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of patient access needs throughout the organization. Responsibilities may include greeting and registering patients, gathering and entering appropriate demographic and insurance/billing information, verification, scheduling appointments, providing patients with financial information, price estimates and the collection and entry of payments. Current knowledge of billing and coding requirements and the ability to apply these based on industry standards is required. Ability to resolve patient financial issues and negotiate payment arrangements. Representatives must fully understand the ramifications and impact of incomplete or inaccurate information to patient care and the overall revenue cycle. Requirements and Responsibilities:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Pharmacy Technician I:
3-6 months of experience and/or training in hospital, retail pharmacy or elsewhere - OR - equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
If not previously trained, a 3-month formal training in pharmacy procedures is preferred.
Temporary or permanent Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required upon hire with permanent Michigan Pharmacy Tech licensure required within one year from issuance of temporary license. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required by the State of Michigan to transition from temporary to permanent licensure. Failure to obtain permanent licensure in required timeframe would end employment.
Students currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy with a valid pharmacy intern license are not required to have Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Ability to read, interpret and analyze data from various systems and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action in coordination with the pharmacists.

Pharmacy Technician II:
Permanent Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with State of Michigan is required.

The unit coordinator acts as a role model, mentor, coach and resource person to staff to ensure all unit standards are maintained and to encourage a team environment. The unit coordinator is involved in assisting managers in attracting, developing, maintaining, and retaining qualified staff members. Duties may include assisting with hiring, orientation, monitoring and evaluating performance, problem solving, employee counseling, staffing, payroll and budget. In addition to duties involving unit personnel, the unit coordinator serves as a contact for internal and external customers. Bronson Lakeview Neurobehavioral Health is required to have all their employees participate in recipient rights education. This education is assumed by the Recipient Rights Offer.
The Office of Recipient Rights shall do all of the following:
- Provide or coordinate the protection of recipient rights for all directly operated or contracted services.
- Ensure that recipients, parents of minor recipients, and guardians or other legal representatives have access to The Rights Booklet of their rights guaranteed by the Michigan Mental Health Code and are notified of those rights in an understandable manner, both at the time services are initiated and periodically during the time services are provided to the recipient.
- Ensure that the telephone number and address of the Office of Recipient Rights and the name of Rights Advisor are conspicuously posted in all service sites.
- Maintain a record system for all reports of apparent or suspected rights violations received including a mechanism for logging in all complaints and a mechanism for secure storage of all investigative documents as evidence.
- Ensure that each service site is visited with the frequency necessary for protection of rights but in no case less than annually.
- Ensure that all individuals employed by BBC Fieldstone site receive training related to recipient rights protection before or within 30 days after being employed.
- Review the recipient rights policies and the rights system of each provider of mental health services under contract with BBC to ensure that the rights protection system of each provider is in compliance with the Michigan Mental Health Code and is of a uniformly high standard.
- Serve as consultant to Chief Executive Officer or his or her designee, RiskManagement Department, and other directors and to the associates of BBC in matters related to recipient rights.
- Ensure that all reports of apparent or suspected violations of rights within Fieldstone Center are investigated in accordance with section 330.1778 of the Michigan Mental Health Code. The policy requires that the rights office must conduct investigations in a manner that does not violate employee rights. Those reports that do not warrant investigation are intervened upon and recorded in accordance with subdivision (d) of the Michigan Mental Health Code.
- Semiannually provide summary complaint data consistent with the annual report required by the Code, together with a summary of remedial action taken on substantiated complaints by category, to the State of Michigan and to the Recipient Rights Advisory Committee.
- The Recipient Rights Officer and Advisors will have the education, training, and experience to fulfill the responsibilities of the Office of Recipient Rights. The Recipient Rights Officer and Advisors will receive training in recipient rights protection.
- Coordinate meetings and activities of the Recipient Rights Advisory Committee and be the holder of the record of this committee.
- Serve as advocate to all recipients and their families. Provide recipients assistance to make contact with other advocacy groups, as needed.
- Collaborate with Community Mental Health when appropriate.
- The Recipient Rights Officer shall submit to the governing board of BHG and to the State of Michigan Office of Recipient Rights an annual report prepared by the Office of Recipient Rights on the current status of recipient rights at Fieldstone Site and a review of the operations of the Office of Recipient Rights. The report shall be submitted no later than December 30, of each year for the preceding fiscal year or period specified in contract. The annual report shall include, at a minimum, all of the following: A) Summary data by category regarding the rights of recipients receiving services from Bronson Health Services-Fieldstone Site BBC including complaints received, the number of reports filed, and the number of reports investigated by the Office of Recipient Rights. B) The number of substantiated rights violations by category. C) The remedial actions taken on substantiated rights violations by category. D) Training received by associates of the Office of Recipient Rights. E) Training provided by the Office of Recipient Rights. Desired outcomes established for the Office of Recipient Rights and progress toward these outcomes. G) Recommendations to the BHG governing board.

Unit Clerk - GMU PT DUnder the supervision of the Unit Leadership, the Unit Clerk/Receptionist performs clerical and receptionist functions for the unit. Duties include preparing and compiling records on the nursing unit, coordinating unit communication systems (e.g. phones, nurse call system, hospital information systems); relaying information; maintaining optimal public relations; assisting in maintaining supplies, equipment and overall unit environment and other duties as assigned by the Unit Leadership. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required for those hired on or after 6/1/2017.
1-3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Ability to successfully complete the organizations' competency requirements for English, writing, spelling and reading comprehension. Ability to successfully complete the hospital’s orientation, core orientation and unit specific orientation.

• Records name of patient, address, and name of attending Physician to prepare medical records on new patients.
• Keeps file of medical records on patients in unit.
• Monitors and requisitions supplies designated by nursing staff, organizes and stores such in accordance with unit/department procedures.
• Gathers/inputs/retrieves information into various computerized systems.
• Transports patients and guests to locations within facility, under direction or as needed.
• Stocking to facilitate patient care in unit assigned to.
• Take admission paperwork to room, facilitate and complete Medicare/important message, and other assigned paperwork as directed by RN.
• Manage incoming Tubes from tube station and deliver meds or other items to the RN.
• Work with transport to monitor elevator bays for beds/carts.
• Assist in monitoring Environment of Care.
• Other duties as assigned (passing water, getting towel) attending to patient and family needs.
• Maintains unsupervised access to the unit medication room(s) for stocking and/or retrieving supplies.
• Hold and cuddle stable newborn infants under the direction and supervision of the RN. (OB Mother Baby/Antepartum only)

Function as a Patient Safety Assistant for suicide precautions only, which includes,
- Safe patient handling required.
- Responsibilities include observation and reporting patient activities and behaviors and
appropriate response intervention to assure patient safety. The Patient Safety Assistant will demonstrate appropriate communication skills with patient/patient family and other healthcare providers, and practice confidentiality and safety procedures as defined by agency. The Patient Safety Assistant provides services in accordance with policy and procedure manuals. Emp Relations Specialist IIn collaboration with human resources colleagues the Employee Relations and Engagement Specialist will be intimately involved in the development, planning and deployment of processes, and systems that help foster a high performing, fully engaged workforce. The Employee Relations and Engagement Specialist will provide day-to-day consulting, mediation, facilitation and guidance regarding employee relations issues across Bronson. The Employee Relations and Engagement Specialist will be responsible for designing and deploying action plans to address engagement and climate surveys, exit interviews, and employee communications. The Specialist also will be responsible for developing metrics that measure the pulse of the organization and provide leading indicators that help the organization proactively develop solutions to increase and sustain a fully engaged workforce.
Position Responsibility
- Conducting fact finding investigations in a way that deploys best practice methodologies to uncover root cause(s) and thereafter solutions that ensure the organization is focused on the Bronson mission.
- Overseeing engagement and climate surveys and other employee engagement processes including interpreting data and developing follow-up programs to address feedback from the surveys.

Emergency Department: SALT triage, ESI Triage, and NIH Stroke Scale to be completed within 90 days of hire date. Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC only required for FT and part -time nurses) within 6 months of hire date. Special Care Unit: All nurses in department will need to have Pediatric Advance Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
RNs in Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby/Antepartum at BMH & BBC Specific:
The Fetal Monitoring Credential (FMC) is required within 6 months of completing the AWHONN intermediate fetal monitoring course; completion of the National Certification Corporation (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) board certification is alternatively preferred, though not required.

BBC Cardiac Sonography Extern- PRNUnder direct and indirect supervision, the Bronson Cardiovascular Services (CVS) Sonography Extern works with a Registered Sonographer to conduct peripheral vascular and/or cardiac ultrasounds producing two dimensional ultrasonic recordings, color flow, and doppler flow analyses of peripheral arteries, veins, heart, and related structures according to established organization policies, procedures, and guidelines. The CVS Sonography Extern is responsible for communicating learning needs to the Registered Sonographer. The CVS Sonography Extern is accountable, under the direction of a Registered Sonographer, for setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and providing selected aspects of patient care within the CVS Sonography Extern Scope of Practice.

- Registers patients/customers and confirms patient/guarantor demographic and insurance information.

Position Summary:
The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for operating highly sophisticated equipment to perform a diverse range of non-invasive ultrasound scans on various parts and systems of the body. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Associates degree from an accredited school of Ultrasound/Sonography or completion of an accredited sonography program or Must have a minimum of one of the following a Certificate of Completion of a Hospital base program or Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
Six months to a year of on the job clinical experience and training.
BLS required within 6-12 months after hire. Some positions may require additional certifications.
For general ultrasound positions:
Technologists are required to be registry eligible or registered ARDMS in OB/GYN and Abdomen (which includes Physics board exam). Upon hiring, registry-eligible technologists must attempt all three registries (Physics, OB/GYN and Abdomen) within nine months of hire and successfully complete all three ARDMS registries (Physics, OB/GYN and Abdomen) within 12 months of hire.
For dedicated breast center positions:
Technologists are required to be registry eligible or registered ARDMS in Breast (which includes Physics board exam) or registry eligible or registered in Breast Sonography through the ARRT. Upon hiring, registry-eligible technologists must attempt breast registries within 6 months and successfully completed through either the ARDMS (including Physics) or ARRT within 9 months of hire.

You’ll play an important role in making sure the hospital is a clean, safe place for everyone.
Bronson Hospital serves the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To meet patient care needs, scheduling includes rotating weekends and holidays.

What You’ll Do:
Clean and sanitize patient rooms (both occupied and unoccupied), public areas, surgical areas, and other spaces as assigned
Stock supplies and keep equipment clean and in working order
Follow safety and infection control guidelines to ensure the hospital is always clean and safe
Provide excellent service to both hospital staff and patients
Work closely with the Environmental Services Manager to make sure all tasks are completed to the highest standards
Follow detailed instructions and regularly check your work to meet quality standards

• Performs all cleaning functions involved in daily general cleaning and maintaining of patient rooms, operating rooms and ancillary areas, patient related areas, and departmental general areas following the system’s ten steps of cleaning as defined in the Environmental Services Department Manual.

• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations per CDC, OSHA, the EPA, Joint Commission and policies, procedures and standards necessary for role.
• Follows all isolation procedures in isolation and contact plus rooms
• Detail clean vents, fan fixtures, tops of windows, door frames, wall art, bumpers, furniture and other areas as necessary
• Cleans public areas; lobbies, waiting rooms, rest rooms, elevators, utility rooms, exam rooms, offices, stairwells, and other areas assigned
• Collects and replaces all sharps and black pharmacy box containers in patient care areas.
Documents and maintains records of assigned cleaning tasks.
Restocking of supplies in assigned areas as needed.
Communicates information and requests as appropriate to the registered nurse and/or patient care assistant.
Communicate and provide exceptional service to patients, staff, families and visitors.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit data per HIPPA regulations.
Removes trash and soiled linen from assigned areas and transports to disposal area.
Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment and assists with other duties as assigned.
May operate mechanical floor equipment such as IMops, vacuums, sweepers and other related environmental equipment.
Cleans equipment and stores in assigned locations.
Direct visitors as necessary.
May collect trays from patient rooms.
Coordinates activities related to cleaning area with department coordinator as needed.
Assumes responsibility for own growth and development; attends regular staff meetings.
Actively participates and supports the Bronson Management System by attending huddles and adopting the problem solving methods.

All other duties as assigned which may include the use of the trash compactor, and emptying trash and linen chutes.
Specific to BMH Lab, BSH, BLH & BLIRC:
Collect, label and organize all Biomedical Waste for pick up by the waste hauler.
Collect, transport and take all recycling to compactor or comingle dumpster.
Transport waste to appropriate compactor or outside dumpster as needed.
Change privacy curtains where needed.
Round, inspect and maintain all assigned areas within scope of facility. Areas to include but not limited to: Lab work areas, offices, restrooms, waiting areas, patient procedure rooms, stairwells, receiving dock, ambulatory storage, EVS closets, BIO storage rooms, recycling areas inside and outside, elevator landing, elevator’s inside and out, elevator tracks.
Proper use of and maintenance of all assigned floor care machinery. Machinery to include but not limited to: auto scrubbers, corded and battery powered vacuums, iMop, burnishers and side by side scrubbers.

- Temporary or permanent Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required upon hire with permanent Michigan Pharmacy Tech licensure required within one year from issuance of temporary license. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required by the State of Michigan to transition from temporary to permanent licensure. Failure to obtain permanent licensure in required timeframe would end employment.
- Students currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy with a valid pharmacy intern license are not required to have Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Skills in mathematics and basic algebra.
- Ability to read, interpret and analyze data from various systems and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action in coordination with the pharmacists.
