Oversight of the clinical trials start-up process from receipt of protocols through the Scientific Review Committee and IRB submissions, and site activation activities.
Responsible for data reporting and management, collection of source documents, use and development of case report forms, adverse events reporting, filing, and archiving of study records, and resolution of data queries.
May prepare and or complete regulatory related reports and IRB submissions. Maintain and organize study participant/subject trial binder and regulatory binders, enter all required study data on an ongoing basis and as applicable.
Ensure all study related samples are collected, properly prepared, and shipped according to the protocol requirements and IATA/DOT regulations.
Collaborate with other departments such as Protocol Scheduling, Materials Management, the Clinical Research Laboratory, Pharmacy, Research Nursing, and other departments, as needed per the requirements of the clinical trial.
Responsible for organizing and preparing for both internal and external auditing and study monitoring visits.
Coordination and management of clinical trials throughout the trial life cycle, including communication with sponsors and regulatory authorities.
Close-out of clinical trials, including contributing to research articles, audit preparation, and communication with regulatory agencies and other disciplines involved.
Interact with study participants as directed/required by the protocol and/or study team.
May be responsible for tissue sample collection per trial requirements.
Responsible for data entry of Subject Visit Tracking information into Clinical Trial Management System contemporaneously with medical visits, assessments, and other subject-specific information.
Responsible for data entry of time and effort spent on study-specific activities and other administrative tasks into Clinical Trial Management System contemporaneously with work completed.
Responsible for data entry of study-specific activity, including but not limited to monitor visits, external site enrollment, amendments, receipt of Safety Reports, etc. into Clinical Trial Management System contemporaneously with activity completed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent organization and communications skills required.
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and externals contacts.
Must be detail oriented and have the ability to follow-through.
Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize workload.
Must practice discretion and adhere to hospital confidentiality guidelines at all times.
Must have computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or 1 year of Dana-Farber Associate Clinical Research Coordinator experience required. 0-1 years of experience working in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable technology orientated business environment preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Delivers expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients and families.
1. Implements nursing process:
a. Assesses patient and family needs.
b. Analyzes assessment data to develop and support clinically accurate diagnoses.
c. Plans care by establishing goals with measurable outcomes.
d. Implements the plan of care.
e. Evaluates the patient’s response to interventions.
2. Documents care according to Institute and regulatory agencies’ requirements.
3. Administers medications, which may include chemotherapy, and performs procedures safely and efficiently in accordance with Institute policy. May administer blood transfusions.
4. Evaluates educational and psychological needs of patient and family, and incorporates identified needs into the plan of care.
5. Educates patient and family regarding various aspects and treatment modalities of disease, which may include chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
6. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations appropriately. Maintains BLS certification.
7. Identifies appropriate community resources to promote continuity of care and makes appropriate referrals.
8. Complies with accepted standards of professional nursing practice, as well as with all licensure/registration requirements applicable to the nursing role.
B. Establishes rapport with patients and families from a variety of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
1. Interacts with patients and families in a caring and compassionate manner respecting the need for privacy and confidentiality.
2. Develops approaches to problem solving which meet the individual needs of the patients and families.
3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific care and support to the populations served.
4. Fosters an environment that is sensitive to the needs of diverse populations, including but not limited to culture, ethnicity, gender, and age.
C. Manages the environment of patient care.
1. Monitors the environment of care with attention to patient safety, and assures compliance with regulatory agency standards.

3. Adheres to the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (ANA, 2001) in all aspects of professional practice.
D. Contributes to the formulation and achievement of goals on the unit, within the Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services, and the Institute.
1. Assists in defining goals and developing systems and work processes for the unit, the Division of Nursing and the Institute.
2. Participates in unit, program-based, and divisional committees, councils, and initiatives.
3. Demonstrates flexibility in setting and changing priorities. Accepts additional responsibilities as needed.
4. Participates in QA/QI projects for the unit and the Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services.
5. Supports research activities within the unit, Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services, and the Institute.
E. Works collaboratively and functions as an effective member of the health care team.

3. Delegates as appropriate, and supervises assistive personnel in their provision of patient care.
4. Functions in the charge nurse role when necessary, collaborating with staff and coordinating flow of patients into the infusion areas.

G. Procedural Nurse Responsibilities
1. Delivers expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients and families.
2. Perform pre procedural assessment with patients by obtaining medical history via pre procedural phone call to provide patient specific instructions:
a. Assess safety and tolerability of procedural sedation.
b. Perform medication reconciliation.
c. Review procedural sedation history.
d. Provide pre procedural instructions, providing the patient with opportunity to ask clinical questions without requiring separate call back.
3. Create patient specific premedication regiment in collaboration with procedure APP.
4. Obtain IV access and preprocedural lab work.
5. Administered preprocedural procedural medications, titrating according to specific patient needs. Also administer chemotherapy and performs procedures safely and efficiently in accordance with Institute policy. May administer blood transfusions.
6. Work as co-sign to Intrathecal Chemotherapy administered by APP.
7. Assists in emergency nursing procedures necessary for prompt control of changes in patient`s physical condition.
8. Maintains awareness of procedural suite activities and works with the Procedure Suite team to maximize workflow.
9. Keeps abreast of changing techniques in procedural nursing and maintains a high level of expertise in critical care.
10. Responsible for intraprocedural monitoring of patients not limited to maintain active airway, assesses effective circulation and respiration via capnography and telemetry monitoring.
11. Safely recover patients post sedation, perform discharge teaching, and evaluate safety of patient discharge.
12. Coordinate correct research specimen collection with research coordinators.
13. Maintain Joint commission readiness.
14. Provide as needed support for biopsy specimen collection when not acting in a procedural sedation role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to make independent decisions.
• Ability to function in a busy work setting with patients with complex needs.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree, Nursing. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred. If Associate degree in Nursing, must complete BSN degree within 4 years. Experience: Completion of the Oncology Nurse Residency Program (ONRP) or 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse. Ambulatory and/or oncology experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or State of New Hampshire as appropriate required. AHA BLS required (AHA ACLS accepted as minimum requirement). Professional nursing certification preferred (OCN, BMTCN, CPHON, AOCNP, CRNI, RN-BC).

The Division of Population Sciences seeks a Research Administrator Manager to work in the McGraw/Patterson Center for Population Sciences. This growing and innovative center is committed to population-based research as a means to detect cancer early, prevent cancer at the community-based level, identify and evaluate cancer risk in high-risk populations, and measure the quality and outcomes of cancer therapy.
The Research Administrator Manager will provide grants management support to the faculty in the Division Population Sciences. The award-winning Population Sciences business office includes research administrators, administrative assistants, and program managers from diverse backgrounds with unique experience and expertise. The business office works collaboratively to support faculty conducting dry lab research and we are seeking motivated help to grow our team.
The Research Administrator Manager is responsible for the following primary functions, autonomously in collaboration with DA as needed:

Special projects and/or initiatives to improve systems and processes.
- In addition, the Research Administrator Manager is responsible for supervision of direct reports, including directing, managing, and coaching staff; completion of annual performance reviews, goal setting, and professional development; workload and resource allocation.
- Grant Preparation (pre-award): Responsible for all administrative aspects of grant preparation of sponsored research applications. Review sponsor eligibility and application requirements and ensure applicants understand them, responsible for the entire application excluding scientific content, meet and communicate internal and external deadlines in a strict deadline-driven environment, research funding opportunities for investigators, draft non-scientific materials for proposals, coordinate with administrators and faculty from other departments or organizations to complete proposals, coordinate institutional review of proposals by Grants & Contracts and submission to sponsors, prepare JIT information and responses to other pre-award inquiries.
- Portfolio Management (post-award): Responsible for the financial management of sponsored and institutional funds portfolio management. Prepare financial and narrative reports for sponsors while managing and adhering to specified deadlines, provide projection and project summary reports to investigators on a regular basis, ensure spending adheres to budget and sponsor and Institute guidelines, invoice and monitor receivables for clinical trial enrollment when appropriate, establish billing agreements as appropriate, track milestones and receivables for industry agreements.
- Procurement: Approve and/or initiate purchase requests for investigators and laboratory members via Purchase Orders and PCard. Verify funds are available, expenses are allowable and correctly allocated in a timely manner. Review and approve bills for core and center services.
- Human Resources: Onboarding - conduct financial analysis to determine availability of funding, assist in the development of job descriptions, post positions, approve salary offers, process visa applications and payments as appropriate. Ongoing - process merit, equity and promotions requests. Manage salary allocations in adherence to funding guidelines and availability. Offboarding - manage termination process checklist, process termination paperwork.
- Compliance: Partners with faculty and researchers to ensure adherence to internal and external policies. This includes consulting with faculty/OGC/Innovations on MTA, DUA and consulting agreement processes. Also includes advising faculty and researchers and/or referring them to appropriate resources for other compliance issues such as financial conflict of interest and foreign influence. Educate new researchers and manage the federal time and effort process for applicable researchers. Continuous learning and educating of researchers on NIH Grants Policy Statement and DFCI Policies. Review Time and Effort prior to routing to researchers for certification.
- Cores, Centers and Chargebacks: Assist in pricing development and annual review of pricing, process monthly billing for internal and external customers, manage funds to ensure revenue meets expenditures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Computer literacy: Expert with new applications and software programs. Expertise with Excel/ Google Sheets preferred.

Oversight of the clinical trials start-up process from receipt of protocols through the Scientific Review Committee and IRB submissions, and site activation activities.

- Real time collaboration with Lead Clinical Assistant on clinic flow, communication and resolution of bottlenecks
- Model superior, respectful, verbal and non-verbal communication with internal and external customers and patients
- Works with CA lead to manage patient wait-time issues and communications, escalating to Practice Manager and Nursing Leadership when necessary
- Provides and reports out on service recovery
- Offers support to Clinic Coordinators in challenging customer service and Provider issues
Information Technology:
- Assists in managing downtime operations; provides downtime guidance to Clinic Coordinators and provides timely notification and updates to Practice Manger
- Troubleshoots issues with clinical devices/systems/software
- Assists in managing Real Time Locating System (RTLS) including: troubleshooting; serving as first point of contact for systems related issues; and assisting in communication with Providers and nursing on status

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Clinic Coordinator I and II:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience working in a customer service setting preferred. Proficiency in technology and complex computer systems required.
Clinic Coordinator II:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 1-year experience as a Clinic Coordinator I at Dana-Farber.
Lead Clinic Coordinator:
In addition to job qualifications outlined for Clinic Coordinator II; desire to work toward a management position.

Position Summary:
This position performs various patient care activities related to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). Performs clerical and clinical functions under the direction of the RN.

Under the direction of the appropriate licensed clinician, and in keeping with unit specific standards, provides patient care to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients; and assists members of the healthcare team. In order to become a PCT II a caregiver must meet the full competencies outlined by the Nursing Professional Practice.As an integral member of the patient care team, serves both internal and external customers including patients, nurses, physicians and other colleagues who support the delivery of care and services.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients. Examples, but not limited to changes in skin condition, vital signs, and/or mental status.
2. Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
3. Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment. Works to utilize interventions to de-escalate patients and if unsuccessful participates in restraints in accordance with training and education as directed.
4. Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
5. Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients by utilizing proper safety techniques and body mechanics in all work-related activities.
6. Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks, utilizing fall prevention alternative devices/strategies as directed, and following the Restraint Policy standards when caring for a restrained patient.
7. Takes and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and pulse oxymetry). Measures and records patients’ height and weight.
8. Performs EKG’s, performs Point of Care (POC) tests and bladder scanning according to hospital standards. Collects, labels and prepares specimens for transport to lab.
9. Phlebotomy in certain locations.
10. Performs other selected unit specific procedures such as battery changes for telemetry units, checking status of unit equipment, cleaning equipment between patients and proper storage of supplies.
11. Assists RN/Licensed Independent Practitioner with treatments and procedures by preparing patient; obtaining and setting up equipment and supplies, such as intravenous and hemodynamic lines, and utilize sterile technique when indicated. Help in positioning the patient and providing the patient with emotional support. Clean up equipment and supplies following the treatment and/or procedure.
12. Observes, measures, records oral food and fluid intake. Sets up full strength tube feeding solutions and refills tube feeding bags as directed. Empties and records output, as approved, from a variety of sources, e.g., Foley catheter, ostomy appliances and drainage systems. Performs ostomy care on established ostomate patients as directed.
13. Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to patients’ needs by acting as a source of information and approaches all interactions with the intention of building positive rapport and relationships.
14. Provides respectful, culturally and age-appropriate communication with patients, staff, family, visitors and others.
15. Replenishes patient and unit supplies and equipment.
16. Requests assistance from identified resources when more direction is needed.

Job Title: Patient Care Technician I
Job Profile Summary:
Under the direction of the appropriate licensed clinician, the Patient Care Technician I performs a variety of patient care activities. Receives workplace education and training to assist members of the healthcare team in the care of patients.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients. Examples, but not limited to changes in skin condition, vital signs, and/or mental status.
2. Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
3. Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment. Works to utilize interventions to de-escalate patients and if unsuccessful participates in restraints in accordance with training and education as directed.
4. Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
5. Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients by utilizing proper safety techniques and body mechanics in all work-related activities.
6. Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks, utilizing fall prevention alternative devices/strategies as directed, and following the Restraint Policy standards when caring for a restrained patient.
7. Takes and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and pulse oxymetry). Measures and records patients’ weights and heights.
8. Performs EKG’s, Point of Care (POC) tests and bladder scanning. Collects, labels and prepares specimens for transport to lab.
9. Performs other selected unit specific procedures, such as battery changes for telemetry units, checking status of unit equipment, cleaning equipment between patients and proper storage of supplies.
10. Assists RN/Licensed Independent Practitioner with treatments and procedures by preparing patient, obtaining equipment and supplies, helping to position patient, providing the patient with emotional support, and cleaning up equipment and supplies following the treatment and/or procedure.
11. Observes, measures, records oral food and fluid intake. Refills tube feeding bags as directed. Empties and records output, as approved, from a variety of sources, e.g., foley catheter, ostomy appliances and drainage systems. Performs ostomy care on established ostomate patients as directed.
12. Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to patients’ needs by acting as a source of information and approaches all interactions with the intention of building positive rapport and relationships.
13. Provides respectful, culturally and age-appropriate communication with patients, staff, family, visitors and others.
14. Replenishes patient and unit supplies and equipment as needed.
15. Requests assistance from identified resources when more direction is needed.
16. Keeps current with hospital and unit changes by reading communication boards and/or books, bulletin boards, posted notices and reads and responds to UMMHC e mails on a regular basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform and supervise patient-specific dosimetry tasks, ensuring safe and accurate radiation treatments. Work alongside dosimetrists, radiation oncologists, radiation therapists and physicists to support treatment planning, simulation, image processing, and treatment delivery. Support and evaluate the implementation of advanced procedures such as IMRT, IGRT, SBRT. Participate in departmental chart reviews, clinical trials, and national protocols, providing necessary documentation.
- Treatment Planning: Responsible for specific disease sites. Collect and analyze patient data and design optimal approaches for treatments. Responsible for basic dose calculation and 2D, 3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRS/SRT using treatment planning software on several different platforms. Interact with radiation oncologists to define target volumes and critical structures. Participate in the implementation of new techniques and treatment modalities for radiation therapy. Participate in clinical research and data submission for clinical trials.
- Leadership and Management: Serve as a member of the dosimetry team, providing expertise in treatment planning. Help with integrating new technologies, including AI-assisted planning and remote dosimetry workflows. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and committees. May be required to lead specific disease site treatment planning efforts, which include participating in disease site clinical meetings, leading and updating disease site in-services, training and cross training new hires and co-workers, serving as a liaison between physicians and the planning group for a specific disease site
- Teaching, Training, and Research: Provide or delegate training and educational support for dosimetry students, physician residents, physics residents, and radiotherapy students. Keep the dosimetry team informed of departmental policies, procedures, and innovations. When appropriate, participate in research and development projects in collaboration with faculty members.

Interprets a wide variety of clinical and diagnostic documentation in order to process hospital and / or pro-fee charges for episodes of outpatient care. Assigns appropriate ICD-CM (current edition) and CPT codes as well as modifiers. Based on account type, may assign ICD-PCS codes, as appropriate adhering to official coding guidelines.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Upon review of the medical record, performs analysis on documentation, which includes review of tests / reports to determine the appropriate ICD-CM (current edition) and / or CPT codes as well as modifiers. Based on account type, may assign ICD-PCS codes, as defined by official coding guidelines and other recognized reference materials.
2. Verifies documentation is present to substantiate codes assigned.
3. Assists in resolving incomplete and / or missing chart documentation in order to expedite coding and billing.
4. Participates in the continuous coding audit and performance management program.
5. Maintains coding accuracy rate of not less than 95% for optimal reimbursement as well as department productivity standards as outlined in department policies.
6. Attends required training classes and coding in-services each year to stay abreast of new regulations and coding guidelines.
7. Participates in improvement efforts and documentation training for medical and clinical staff as it relates to coding practices and guidelines.
8. Communicates to Manager when backlog situations arise or necessary documents are either incorrect or are not being received in a timely manner.
9. Refers all unusual, questionable situations to the direct Manager.
10. Alerts management to any coding irregularities, or trends contrary to policies / procedures, so corrective measures may be taken.
11. Adheres to the coding and billing regulations established by the American Hospital Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
12. Maintains direct and ongoing communications with other coding personnel to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency of the operation.
13. Keeps current with all coding updates and information related to correct coding.

2. Training in medical terminology from an accredited program, completing and passing certification program within one year from date of hire. (Recognized programs include: American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
3. Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P)

2. Knowledge of third-party payer requirements as well as federal and state guidelines and regulations pertaining to coding and billing practices.

Performs a variety of routine procedures with the collection, receiving, triaging and/or processing of laboratory requisitions and specimens involving technical and data entry duties.Major Responsibilities:
- Receives specimens from couriers and checks manifests to verify appropriate count.
- Logs and assigns accession numbers to specimens and requisitions received.
- Sorts and triages requisitions and specimens to appropriate workstation; completes and files manifests.

UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Lab team. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role is essential for delivering safe, efficient care to patients undergoing EP procedures. This full-time role involves both EP clinic responsibilities and first assisting in EP lab procedures.
Key Highlights:
Conduct pre-procedure EP patient consultations in the clinic, including obtaining histories and ordering studies, labs, and diagnostics.
Manage post-procedure follow-ups and wound checks in clinic.
Perform detailed chart reviews to assess patient readiness and identify clinical concerns before procedures.
Collaborate closely with cardiologists, nursing staff, and procedural teams to optimize patient care and procedural planning.
Provide vascular access (arterial and/or venous) and serve as first assist during EP lab procedures, adhering to scope of practice and protocols.
Document assessments, interventions, and communications in the Epic EMR system.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to promote best practices in cardiovascular care.
Assist with post-procedure care coordination.
Qualifications:
Master's degree
Graduate of approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with certification.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Provider experience in cardiology, especially in Cath/EP lab, critical care, or procedural medicine preferred.
Proficiency in vascular access techniques strongly preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Experience with Epic EMR is a plus.

The Rehab Services staff recreational therapist provides evaluation and treatment of leisure needs for hospital inpatients in rehab and head pain programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
2. Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, colleagues, and visitors to Chelsea Hospital. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.
3. Behaves in accordance with the Code of Conduct, Service Excellence Standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values and policies of Chelsea Hospital.
4. Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
