As a Diagnostic Assistant at MercyOne, you will:
- Transport patients to and from Radiology from other patient care areas
- Assure proper patient identification using 2 (two) forms of verification prior to patient transport
- Assess patients' transport needs and alters transport plan as appropriate
- Communicate to other areas patient location in radiology
- Use oxygen when appropriate at proper levels
- Assist in transferring patients to procedure table utilizing proper body mechanics and safe transfer techniques
- Consult with health team members as needed. Ensures "hand-off" communication is completed
- Assure quality patient care in an environment of dignity, worth, and confidentiality
- Answer patient call light within Radiology
- Transport specimens to the lab as directed by staff per infection control policy
Schedule:
- Per Diem (PRN)
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS/GED
- 0 – 2 years – prior patient care experience preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred
- BLS
- Mandatory Reporter Training

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Respiratory Therapist.
As a Respiratory Therapist at MercyOne, you will This position is responsible for the administration of routine respiratory care to all pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Areas worked include general acute care areas, intensive care, emergency department, surgical suites, recovery rooms, skilled nursing facilities, and other clinical areas.
- Performs incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, pulmonary drainage procedures, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, therapeutic bronchoscopy, co-oximetry, ekg, holter, zio, intubation assist, extubation, blood gas, outpatient testing, and suctioning following interpretation of physician order.
- Assesses patients receiving Respiratory Care using beside assessment technique and knowledge of indications, contraindications, hazards of the above procedures and actions/reactions of medications being given. Responds to and are team members of the resuscitation and rapid response pages.
- Performs basic spirometry procedures, electrocardiograms, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
- Provides patient education and assists with community events dealing with Respiratory Care.
- Areas worked include general acute care areas, intensive care, emergency department, surgical suites, recovery rooms, skilled nursing facilities, and other clinical areas.
Schedule:
- Full Time; 36 hours
- Weekends: Sat/Sun
- 0700 - 1930
General Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science required.
- Graduate of respiratory therapy program required or board-eligible within a few months of graduation as certification is required at hire/transfer.
- Credentialed by the NBRC at the Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist level required.
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required.
- CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required.
- Experience:
- Must have demonstrated competence in Respiratory Care.
- Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes:
- Must be able to read, write and/or speak English

As a Radiology Care Coordination Specialist at MercyOne, you will ensures the coordination of the next level of service/care/needs for patients within Imaging services, act as a resource to patient, family or physician calling for assistance, and works collaboratively with imaging modalities to ensure efficient coordination of patient schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma. At least one year of post-high school medical education. Associate degree preferred.
- At least one (1) year of clinical oncology health care or hospital-based experience.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in order to interact and communicate with patients and medical staff.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.
- Ability to function autonomously, self-directed with a high level of judgment and decision-making.
- Demonstrated organizational skills necessary to develop and manage multiple monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer databases and software to include Excel, Word. Prefer prior Epic experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve with internal and external customers and systems.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative environment.

As a Respiratory Therapist at MercyOne, you will This position is responsible for the administration of routine respiratory care to all pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Areas worked include general acute care areas, intensive care, emergency department, surgical suites, recovery rooms, skilled nursing facilities, and other clinical areas.
- Performs incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, pulmonary drainage procedures, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, therapeutic bronchoscopy, co-oximetry, ekg, holter, zio, intubation assist, extubation, blood gas, outpatient testing, and suctioning following interpretation of physician order.
- Assesses patients receiving Respiratory Care using beside assessment technique and knowledge of indications, contraindications, hazards of the above procedures and actions/reactions of medications being given. Responds to and are team members of the resuscitation and rapid response pages.
- Performs basic spirometry procedures, electrocardiograms, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
- Provides patient education and assists with community events dealing with Respiratory Care.

As a Patient Safety Attendant at MercyOne, you will support the provision of a safe environment for patients by providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. First line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors and notifies professional staff of the patient's needs and/or alerts them in case of an emergency. - 12-hours Night 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; rotating weekends and holidays
General Requirements:
- Always maintains visual observation.
- Verbally redirects patient in person or over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.
- Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to patient population based on the patients individualized treatment plan as delegated by the RN.

As a Dialysis Tech at MercyOne, you will assist with patient care in the dialysis unit by setting up equipment, initiating, monitoring and terminating dialysis treatments. Ages served are adolescent to adult.

As a patient care tech at MercyOne, you will participate in the provision of safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse through support of standards and philosophies of Genesis Medical Center. Provides assistance to nursing staff and physicians in various patient care and non-patient care activities. Performs tasks in a caring and efficient manner that supports customer service and assists with department related housekeeping, and supply/equipment/facility maintenance tasks.

The Clinical pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications. He/she provides expertise on drug therapy initiation and monitoring to all customer groups served by MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, working collaboratively with other health care professionals to devise the most appropriate drug treatment for patients. The role of the clinical pharmacist sometimes extends outside the hospital, sharing their specialized knowledge with other hospitals, clinics, and care settings.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
1. Completion of the requirements for a Pharm.D. required.
2. Iowa Pharmacist licensure, either by examination or reciprocity, is required
B. Experience
1. Demonstrated competence in pharmacy for 2-3 years, focusing on the provision of pharmaceutical care is required.
2. Residency training and/or certification in area related to practice site is preferred.
3. Demonstrated competence in previous clinical practice is preferred.
