As a Nurse Assistant at MercyOne, the Nurse Assistant (NA) is a member of the MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. NAs provide holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living. Nurse Assistant (NA) also provide other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs consistent with the Mission of MercyOne, Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures.
Schedule:
- Part-Time, 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week)
- Weekend and holiday rotation
General Requirements:
All Nurse Assistants (other than Senior Care):
- Must be at least 16 years of age, Child labor laws are applicable to all minors under the age of 18. May be required to be 18 years of age in some area.
- Must meet at least oneof the following requirements:Be active on the Iowa registry (required for long term care nurse assistants in Iowa, and nurse assistants who work in Illinois or Wisconsin are required to be on their respective state’s registry)Show proof of completion of 75-hour CNA courseShow proof of EMT CertificationShow proof of formally holding (and completed training for) a medical occupation specialty from the military (current or former)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire an Environmental Supervisor
As an Environmental Supervisor at MercyOne, you will under the general direction of the Director of Environmental Services, are responsible providing effective leadership, guidance and supervision of the daily functions of Environmental Services. The Supervisor plans, assigns and monitors colleague work performance in order to achieve efficient and effective departmental operations. Assists the Director with development and implementation of policies and procedures that facilitate daily operations, safety and cleanliness and are in accordance with all applicable Mercy Medical Center policies and procedures, Joint Commission (TJC) standards, state and federal laws and regulations. Responsible for staff scheduling, performance evaluations, training programs and assists with the disciplinary process.
- Provides leadership and supervision for the department resulting in effective teamwork, colleague engagement and a safe work environment.
- Serves as a role-model for Environmental Services staff and as a resource for other staff on procedural matters.
- Serves as a working supervisor.
- Performs supervisory functions in a thorough and efficient manner using resources of time, supplies, equipment and instruction to continually improve the quality of work performed.
- Assists with the hiring, scheduling, placement, training, evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Effectively supervises the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services department by establishing staff work schedules, monitoring workload, and staff assignments. Ensures that staff are efficient and effective in cleaning duties. Adjusts staff to changing and/or varied workloads.
- Provides/oversees orientation and thoroughly trains staff in safe hospital housekeeping techniques and use of equipment. Delegates work tasks to appropriate staff.
- Evaluates supply needs and orders supplies as needed.
- Monitor meeting room set-ups.
- Responsible for routine unit inspections after discharge cleaning and daily room cleaning to assure that hospital quality standards are met. Corrects deficiencies in a timely fashion. Routinely performs rounds of all areas to note opportunities for improvement and equipment/facility needs.
- Ensures that all equipment is safe, clean and in proper working condition. Requests or complete repairs and maintenance of building or equipment as necessary. Submits repairs orders as needed.
Schedule:
- 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm; weekends as needed
General Requirements:
- Previous experience of 3-5 years in environmental services/housekeeping including 1-2 years in a leadership/supervisory role; hospital setting preferred.
- Formalized training in environmental cleaning programs and safety methodology preferred.
- Knowledge of proper and safe chemical use and handling.
- Demonstrates general working knowledge of computers and department specific software helpful. (i.e. HealthStream, Word, Excel, Outlook; internet/intranet). Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Housekeeper!
As a housekeeper at MercyOne, you will be responsible for a clean and safe environment within the facility by following routine cleaning procedures. May occasionally take direction from a nursing director or departmental supervisor may give direction on housekeeping needs of that area. Provide cleaning for patient and non-patient areas of the hospital. Services provided include surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and moving equipment and furniture.
- Maintain clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards. Empties trash and linen containers, high dusts, damp mops, cleans bathroom, cleans/makes bed, damp wipes all horizontal surfaces including clean over-bed table, and checks own work.
- Maintain clean office/ancillary areas. Audits are done frequently for Quality Control.
- Has knowledge of and is able to differentiate between isolations. Performs special isolation cleaning according to established procedures as required.
- Maintain a clean cart, equipment, and janitor closet/storage areas.
- Replenish supplies of soap, tissues, towels, disposable items and other items as needed.
- Responsible for reporting the need for repair of equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures to appropriate person.

General Requirements:
- Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred. Some previous experience in hospital standards, methods, and procedures desirable but not mandatory as may be trained on the job.
- Must be able to become familiar with use and care of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
- Must be able to work with and accept varying demands of the patient, public and other employees.
- Able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with all members of the health care team.
- Interacts with hospital staff, patients and public contacts in cordial, courteous, and helpful manner. Exercise tact and diplomacy.

As a housekeeper at MercyOne, you will be responsible for a clean and safe environment within the facility by following routine cleaning procedures. Assists in setting up rooms.
Secures safe transport of the patient if needed.
Confirms correctness of the surgical site, prepares the pre-operative site, instruments the case, manages the sterile field and specimens, and turns the room around under the supervision of the circulating nurse.
Serves as a steward for the hospital’s human and material resources.
Meets productivity expectations of unit/department as defined by unit manager.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs inhaled medication therapy, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, pulmonary function testing, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, helium-oxygen therapy, carbon dioxide-oxygen therapy, nitric oxide-oxygen therapy, CPAP therapy, BIPAP therapy, bland aerosol therapy, PEP therapy, high-frequency oscillator therapy, and ventilatory support modalities as ordered by physician.
- Participates in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, assists or performs intubation, manages artificial airway, and transport of patients requiring ventilatory support.
- Assembles, manipulates, and troubleshoots Respiratory Care equipment including mechanical ventilators, pulse oximeters, capnometers, aerosol generators, medical gas delivery systems, humidification systems, and mechanical percussors.
- Interprets diagnostic results for feasibility and reports results, to include blood or other body fluid analysis by blood gas analyzer and co-oximeter, pulmonary function screening, pulmonary mechanics studies, end-tidal C02, and pulse oximetry.
- Performs record keeping, billing and medical record documentation functions.
- Provides patient instruction in the use of Respiratory Care devices and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be credentialed as a certified or registered respiratory therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care upon hire.
- Must have an active license as a respiratory care practitioner in the State of Iowa upon hire.
- Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.

General Requirements:

As a housekeeper at MercyOne, you will be responsible for a clean and safe environment within the facility by following routine cleaning procedures.
