Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Business Support Specialist
As a Business Support Specialist at MercyOne, you will provide 24-hour/7 day a week operation/monitoring of communications center equipment and systems to hospital, client/tenants, affiliated on-campus and off-campus sites. Provides informational services to public, all campus and off-campus sites. Responsible for greeting patients and visitors, providing directions to various areas in the hospital while promoting a positive public image for MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center.
Provides mailing services and meeting room coordination to hospital, medical clinic, and affiliates. Provides system support for all beeper paging. Works under general supervision of Business Support Services Director/Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Adheres to the principles of caring and expected behaviors outlined in MercyOne Medical Center's Model of Caring and Trinity Health's Code of Conduct, fostering a climate where all customers are treated in a manner consistent with MercyOne’s Mission and Values.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
- Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
- Receives and routes incoming telephone calls by operating the SPOK Console quickly and efficiently per established protocol.
- Performs page requests and initiates security calls by operating the hospital public address system, Motorola pagers, and security radio.
- Announces all emergency codes via public address system, i.e., STAT calls, ALL CODES, notifying appropriate hospital personnel and/or outside agency personnel for quick response. Monitors all alarm panels including emergency data computer and fire panel and printer and notifies appropriate personnel when an alarm is activated in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required. Degree from higher level education degree that requires a high school diploma or GED as a pre-requisite is also permitted.
- Previous experience in direct customer relations/communications center preferred.
- Experience within Microsoft O365 (M365 Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams, Edge) and Internet.
Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment so as to foster a positive public image for MercyOne Medical Center.
Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information (i.e. HIPAA, Stark, etc.)

Position Purpose:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
- Completion of Medical Secretary program or other general office training preferred.
- One- year medical office experience (scheduling, insurance, or registration) preferred. Hospital experience and or medical terminology preferred.
- Strong computer skills, Windows experience. Database software, mainframe information systems.
- Ability to convey positive image and communicate tactfully and professionally with staff, patients and the public.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people and to work under pressure.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a NICU RN!
Night shift is 3p-3a
The Waterloo Birth Center consists of labor & delivery, postpartum care, and a Level III NICU. We are a 23 bed unit, with 19 of those rooms being large LDRP that allow for families to stay in one room for the entire stay. We have a two room OR suites for patients needing a c-section. We are one of a very few integrated neonatal intensive care units in the nation. Our NICU infants remain in the LDRP room with the family. This allows for true family centered care and bonding while both recover after delivery. We are blessed with a team of providers that consist of OBGYN doctors and midwives. We have a below average primary c-section rate and a high VBAC success rate.
As a Level III NICU, we provide care to infants 28+ weeks gestation. We also have a NICU transport team that typically will help transport infants from smaller hospitals to our NICU when a higher level of care is needed.
As a NICU RN at MercyOne, you will provide specialized, evidence-based, and outcome-focused care to critically ill and premature newborns in a dynamic and supportive environment. Using advanced critical thinking and neonatal expertise, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while supervising and coordinating the NICU nursing team.
You will collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and optimal outcomes for vulnerable newborns. By conducting thorough assessments, identifying patient needs, and developing goal-oriented care plans, you will support neonates through critical stages of growth and development. Your ability to monitor and respond to complex conditions, provide family education, and adjust care plans as needed will help ensure the best possible outcomes for every newborn in your care.
Education:
Associate degree required, BSN preferred. No prior experience required. Current Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter. NRP. ALCS
