JOB SUMMARY
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursingstandards.
What you will Do:
- Assesses and evaluates the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs and documents patient/family responses to nursing interventions while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient care outcomes. (Adherence to policy, Problem Solving, Teamwork)
- Develops and implements patient’s plan of care, including the discharge plan, based on standards of nursing practice, health center policy, and patient/family needs using clinical/critical thinking skills Reviews and updates the plan of care based on changes in patient’s condition (Problem identification, Problem solving)
- Guides and directs patient care activities for the above-indicated population, by utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice (Problem Solving, Problem Identification).
- Provides daily direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant
- Provides, facilitates, and/or implements learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patient/family by assessing the learning needs and formulating and initiating a teaching plan to meet those needs (Initiative, Adherence to Policy)
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient changes/conditions to colleagues and to multidisciplinary caregivers (Teamwork, Communication).
- Attends and participates in departmental/organizational meetings, in-services and educational opportunities. Department meeting attendance requirement: 80% with 50% in person if department meetings are available by webinar. (Communication/Adherence to Policy)
- Serves as a steward for the hospital’s human and material resources. Meets productivity expectations of unit/department as defined by unit manager. Utilizes and maintains appropriate supplies in department. Supports staffing needs for patient care in multiple units, as needed, while being flexible with schedule and hours. (Teamwork, Adherence to Policy, Adaptability)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
- New Grads!
- Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an accredited RN program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Previous experience in acute care preferred.
- Preferred certification in CCRN. (from the Magnet approved certifications)
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Patient Safety Attendant.
As a Patient Safety Attendant at MercyOne, you will support the provision of a safe environment for patients by providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. First line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors and notifies professional staff of the patient's needs and/or alerts them in case of an emergency. Documents on observation flow sheet and assist licensed nursing staff with cares as delegated and identified on the Safety Attendant information sheet.
Schedule:
- 12-hours Night 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; rotating weekends and holidays
General Requirements:
- Always maintains visual observation.
- Verbally redirects patient in person or over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.
- Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to patient population based on the patients individualized treatment plan as delegated by the RN.
- Collecting verbal report, updated/accurate information form and observation record from licensed nurse before assuming observation care of the patient.
- Ensures Safety Attendant Information Sheet is completed and appropriate for each assignment.
- Documents every 15-30 minutes, as appropriate, on Observation Flow Sheet.
- Participates in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.
- Informs nurse prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.
Education:
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous work in a hospital or a college student in medical discipline helpful
- Proof of completion of Dependent Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three (3) months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Patient Care Technician.
As a Patient Care Technician at MercyOne, you will be support the professional clinical staff by providing direct patient care and performing studies and tests as assigned. These duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific.
Schedule:
- 12-hours Days 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; rotating weekends and holidays
General Requirements:
- Delivers assigned patient care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
- Performs or assists patients with activities including personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, transporting, range of motion exercises, dressing/undressing, feeding, changing bandages, elimination needs, and emptying drainage devices.
- Responds to patient calls and anticipates patient needs. Assures patient safety and comfort through use of safe patient handling techniques, regular rounding, environmental maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures.
- Calculates intake and output (excluding IVs). Measures vital signs. Performs bedside blood glucose testing. Makes entries to patient health records as consistent with scope of job duties and in compliance with company policy.
- Initiates or assists with emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
- Performs post-mortem care.
- Sets up equipment and supplies for procedures. Prepares patients and rooms for procedures, admissions, and transfers. Discharges patients from the system.
- Observes and reports information regarding any change in physical/mental condition, behavior, or status of the patient to the nurse.
- Collects and labels specimens.
- Sets up, operates, and maintains selected pieces of equipment.
Education:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.

As a Lab Assistant at MercyOne, you will support a variety of laboratory departments by assisting technical staff in the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of laboratory tests necessary for patient diagnosis and treatment. The role requires the skills needed to ensure specimens, patient information, and testing workflows are handled accurately and efficiently. By contributing to reliable test processes and smooth laboratory operations, this position helps maintain timely turnaround, data integrity, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks appropriate to patient age (neonates through geriatric adults) and ensures proper specimen collection according to laboratory policy.
- Accepts specimens and requisitions from internal and external customers and manages add‑on orders and pending lists in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Identifies patients and specimens using two unique patient identifiers and accurately labels specimen containers to ensure correct identification.
- Registers and logs specimens in the Laboratory Information System (LIS), evaluates specimen adequacy and acceptability, and scans required documentation into the patient record.
- Performs specimen processing such as proper identification, aliquoting, plate streaking, slide preparation, special handling, and required documentation in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Assists in resolving problematic patient specimens and test orders in collaboration with laboratory staff and clients.

As a Senior Reimbursement Analyst you know, understand, incorporate and demonstrate the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accessing databases, and utilizing reporting tools to extract data, generate reports, perform data analysis, and draft system/process improvement recommendations.
- Conduct prospective analysis of the potential financial impact on the member organizations of major changes in Medicare and Medicaid policies. Assist in related advocacy efforts regarding such regulatory changes.
- Monitors policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement practices adhere to federal, state and other third-party reimbursement regulations.
- Prepares Annual Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross and Tricare cost reporting for the Trinity Health Corporate Office and Trinity Information Systems.
- Prepares quarterly Medicaid reporting schedules.
- Prepares Rolling Forecasts and Annual Budgets.
- Participates in the Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross audits of Trinity Health Corporate Office, Trinity Information Systems, and the various insurance programs with focus on Graduate Medical Education, Disproportionate Share, Bad Debt and the S-10.
- Analyzes tentative and final settlements. Coordinates, researches and analyzes prior year reopening and appeals.
- Prepares financial month end close reporting for Net Revenue.
- Prepares analyses and interprets highly complex reimbursement issues. Prepares complex financial models and analyses to assure proper reimbursement.
- Participates in third-party payer preparing impact analysis and recommendations.
- Participates in developing and monitoring appeals with third party payers.
- Provides analytical reimbursement support, consulting, and education to the corporate office and member organizations.
- Reviews and analyzes member organization third party reserves and net revenue/contractual calculations.
- Conducts analysis related to revenue improvement initiatives.
- Prepares project analysis regarding operational issues, new programs, service lines, expansions, etc.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and resource by providing guidance and problem resolution to internal associates on matters impacting projects and day-to-day assignments.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Informatics or related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible operational or consulting experience in revenue management (e.g., reimbursement, cost reporting, forecasting, decision support, health information management).
- Some knowledge and experience of the healthcare industry or hospital financial operations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point), financial systems/software, relational database management and business intelligence reporting tools. Ability to utilize PC-based financial tools (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, graphics, etc.).
- Must possess a high degree of analytical, quantitative, evaluative and problem-solving skills.
- Considerable knowledge and experience supporting and developing reporting and analytics for research, process improvement support and specific revenue management function. Ability to develop appropriate methods to collect, analyze and report data.
