About the job:
The Multi-Skilled Technician (MST), under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. This position is key to providing a best-in-class patient experience and plays a vital role in the care of our top priority – our patients.
What you will do:
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including: bathing/skin care (I & II), grooming, and eating.
- Keep assigned patient rooms stocked, cleaned, and orderly
- Obtain vital signs, including: height, weight, blood glucose levels, and I&O
- Perform EKG and phlebotomy as delegated by Staff RN
- Document patient data accurately and completely
- All other duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of EKG and Phlebotomy courses and initial clinical competency course upon hire or transfer
- Completion and maintenance of BLS healthcare provider training
- Experience: Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred

Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualificiations:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
Current BLS/CPR
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team

About the Unit:
The Mount Carmel Grove City Labor and Delivery/Mother Infant has 9 labor rooms, 4 triage rooms, 4 PACU bays on L&D and 18 private rooms on Mother Infant. On Labor and Delivery, you will care for new moms through the labor, delivery, and immediate post partum period, you will care for newborns in their first few hours of life, you will prep, circulate, and recover cesarean section patients, and in rare cases you may need to help support moms who experience pregnancy loss at different stages of their pregnancy. On Mother Infant, you will care for new moms and babies after they recover on labor and delivery. You will help moms bond, breastfeed, and care for themselves and their newborns, you will do patient teaching, and will discharge moms and babies home once they are deemed ready.

The Mount Carmel East NICU is a 15 bed unit. You will see infants 22 weeks to term. This unit is a Level III with an open bay and 2 private rooms. This unit provides family centered care.

Mount Carmel East features a fully integrated cardiovascular center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a dedicated Women’s Health Center, a maternity center, a Network Cancer Program, and a comprehensive orthopedics and spine program. We’re also home to Mount Carmel’s Level II Trauma Center, providing critical access to vital emergency services to eastern central Ohio.
We’ve recently completed a $310 million modernization, making our 400-bed, all-private-room facility one of the best in the region when it comes to contemporary clinical services and patient conveniences. We added a new five-story patient tower, a new surgical suite with 12 operating rooms, an expanded cafeteria and kitchen with bistro-like dining and room service, a new main entrance and lobby, expanded parking, peaceful respite areas, and park-like outdoor spaces to create an unprecedented patient experience.

About the job:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Respiratory Therapist
- Graduate of a two-year advanced practitioner -Accredited Respiratory Therapist program: Registry eligible.

Position Purpose:
The Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (SIMCU) at Mount Carmel East is 32 beds. The Registered Nurse (RN) would expect to see a mixture of post-surgical and trauma patients. This unit is great experience for new graduate RNs wanting to learn skills and/or see a wide variety of patient population. It can also make a great transition for those interested in the OR/PACU. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1.
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse, RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What you will do:
- Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice. Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components.
- Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
