Position Purpose:
The Surgical Technician, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Under the RN’s direction, sets up, and maintains the surgical field and assists the surgeon during operative procedures.
What you will do:
Assists in meeting goals and initiatives for surgery department; such as, but not limited to room turnover and first-case on-time starts.
Assists in training/orientation of associates as directed by the Clinical Educator.
Maintains a safe environment for the patient.
Maintains sterile techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of a surgical technology program, holds a certificate of surgical technology through the NBSTSA, NCCT or graduate of a school of practical nursing.
Licensure / Certification: If a graduate of a school of practical nursing, current license in good standing to practice as a practical nurse in the State of Ohio.
BLS healthcare provider training required.

About the job:
As a Registered Nurse at Saint Joseph Health System you are responsible for implementing, directing, communicating, and documenting the nursing process in accordance with current established standards of care and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act. What We're Looking For
Education
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Ultrasound, or related healthcare imaging program.
Additional leadership, management, or healthcare administration education is a plus.
Licensure & Certifications
Required:
- ARRT RT(R)(CT), ARRT RT(N), or NMTCB (CNMT)
- Current BLS Certification
Preferred:
- Advanced modality certifications
- Previous supervisory or leadership training
Experience
- Experience in CT, Nuclear Medicine, or advanced imaging services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations, process improvement, staffing, and quality management.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and healthcare information systems.
- Experience with imaging workflow and department operations.

Job Qualifications

- The Oncology Patient Navigator assists physicians and Disease Site Management Teams in integrating the various aspects of treatment and support for cancer patients and their caregivers from the time of diagnosis through treatment and recovery. Helps to present the menu of interventions and continuum of care options and serves as a link to Medical Center and community services for patients, families and caregivers. - Responsible for performing in-depth analysis of patient clinical and billing data to identify documentation, coding and denial prevention.
