Overview

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in ambulatory setting requiring independent judgment, under the direction of a qualified physician. Proficient in preliminary structural reporting. 

Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of sonography equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Competent in use and logging of infection control equipment.

Education

• Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, related field, or completion of a training program acceptable to the ARRT or ARDMS registry board (Required)

The Advanced Imaging Center at BelleHarbour is conveniently located on the campus of Sentara BelleHarbour in Western Tidewater. The center is home to a 3T MRI, CT, PET CT, full digital mammography, ultrasound, bone densitometry, PVL (vascular imaging services), non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing, and digital X-ray. Physicians and patients also benefit from the expertise of our sub-specialized radiologists who ensure accurate results from the high quality images. The Oncology 6 RP Unit is a 36-bed inpatient Intermediate Care Unit dedicated to caring for patients with cancer. Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs. Care provided on this unit includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.

• Work within one of the country’s largest cancer networks, accredited as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including board-certified and fellowship-trained cancer experts, to support individualized patient care.

• Provide care in an environment that prioritizes advanced, evidence-based technology and treatments, including innovative radiation therapies, robotic surgery, and HIPEC®.

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, and facilitating patient flow. Required Qualifications:

Position Summary

The Reception Concierge is responsible for daily coordination of the patient and clinic activities in the lobby of the urgent care.  This includes greeting and registering patients, maintain lobby cleanliness and brand elements, executing opening and closing procedures related to front office activities, and collecting appropriate monies from patients. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring an exceptional patient experience at the beginning and close of patient visits, as well as providing excellent customer service over the telephone. In addition, the Reception Concierge works closely with Clinical Concierge colleagues to ensure ongoing communication throughout the patient visit for optimal patient flow.

Work situations are a variety of functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Clinic environment includes walk-in and appointment based care, with a wide variety in patient registration volumes throughout the shift. This position requires a highly collaborative approach to patient services, including coordination with other system urgent care centers, shifts ranging from 6-12 hours.

Requirements:

• AA/AS degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a health-related field, preferred
• Ability to travel to other clinics regionally
• Current BLS Certification or may be obtained through an in-house training program, depending on assignment
