JOB SUMMARYPerforms administrative and business support related duties of a complex nature in support of an area with minimal guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs a variety of administrative support which may include, but not limited to, scheduling, booking travel and budget reconciliation. • Ensures data/records are created and maintained to document financial, planning, correspondence, procedures, processes and other information. • Compiles data, analyzes information and summarizes findings in support of an area. • Prepares reports and other documentation as requested. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. The Vanderbilt Health Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Director of Development, Children’s Health. The Director of Development is a frontline fundraiser focusing on mid-level gifts for Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. This role will actively engage prospective donors and families within the Nashville community, cultivating relationships and collaborating closely with colleagues at Monroe Carell. This position will be responsible for growing this important donor group, identifying new prospective donors, and supporting major gift pipeline development. This position requires exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic vision, and a passion for improving pediatric care through philanthropy..
Shift: First Shift; Days
Role Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects with a focus on securing annual and multi-year commitments in the $5,000–$25,000 range; develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and increase giving.
- Identify, qualify, and actively engage new prospective donors within the Nashville community and beyond, including grateful patient families, community leaders, and emerging philanthropists, to grow the mid-level donor pipeline.
- Partner closely with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital leadership, physicians, and clinical staff to uncover compelling funding priorities and align donor interests with institutional needs, enabling meaningful philanthropic investments in pediatric care, research, and programs.
- Collaborate with gift officers, major gift teams, and advancement leadership to strategically transition high-potential mid-level donors into the major gifts pipeline, ensuring a strong continuum of donor development.
- Utilize data analytics, donor insights, and CRM tools to track and manage prospect activity; ensure accurate documentation of donor interactions, movement through the pipeline, and timely execution of next steps.
- Oversee and implement comprehensive stewardship plans, including personalized communications, donor impact reporting, campus visits, and engagement events, in partnership with Strategic Communications to strengthen donor loyalty and retention.
- Coordinate and support targeted fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and special projects that advance Monroe Carell’s strategic priorities, including participation in hospital events, community outreach, and donor recognition opportunities.
- Work in collaboration with Community and Corporate Relations, Foundation Relations, Digital and Direct Marketing, and other development teams to identify cross-functional giving opportunities and align strategies for donors with diverse philanthropic interests.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mid-level fundraising strategies and programs; regularly assess performance metrics and adjust approaches to maximize donor engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality donor experiences by maintaining proactive communication, timely follow-up, and thoughtful relationship management practices.
- Represent Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the community, serving as an ambassador for its mission and philanthropic priorities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices in fundraising, particularly within healthcare and mid-level giving programs, to inform strategy and innovation.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment that aligns with VUMC’s core values and commitment to excellence.
- Fulfill responsibilities that may require travel, as well as evening and weekend availability for donor meetings, events, and hospital-related activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to convey commitment and passion for VUMC while always representing the Medical Center in a professional manner.
- Experience making cold calls and personal, face-to-face solicitations.
- Ability to develop interpersonal relationships and collaborate effectively with multiple diverse constituencies.
- Ability to compose high-quality written communications, correspondence, reports, and other documents with meticulous attention to detail.

- Ability to work on a team that emphasizes measurable objectives, including mutually agreed upon targets for fundraising goals. Competence in database utilization and a variety of software programs used to track solicitation efforts and results.

- Experience securing or managing individual gifts in the range of $5,000 to $25,000 or greater strongly preferred.
- Experience with donor stewardship and recognition programs strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with annual giving programs strongly preferred.
- Experience in non-profit fundraising, health care advancement, and/or a related field development experience, including annual or membership campaigns, is preferred.

SHIFT: Night-Shift. The person in the role will work two 12-hour night RSL charge shifts and two 8-hour admin shifts per week for a total of 40 hours per week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
We are a 29 bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6. We care for patients that are going through joint replacements, fractures, general trauma, ortho trauma, emergency general surgery, dislocations, etc.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Neuro ICU-
We care for adult patients ranging in age from 18 and older who are being treated for a variety of neurological disorders, including acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, subdural and epidural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis exacerbation, meningitis and encephalitis, spinal cord injury, cerebrovascular intervention, and brain and spinal tumor resection.
Our patients are unique because of their specialized neurological needs.
Shift
This is a full-time night shift position. The shift is 7:00pm - 7:00am, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends.

What You'll Do
Sports Medicine Clinic Responsibilities
- Partner with orthopedic and sports medicine physicians to support patient evaluations, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Assist with clinical procedures and patient flow in a busy physician practice environment.
- Educate patients and families regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation plans, and post-operative recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
High School Outreach Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training coverage for assigned high school practices, games, and athletic events.
- Evaluate, assess, and manage sports-related injuries and medical conditions.
- Coordinate care with physicians, coaches, athletes, parents, and school personnel.
- Implement injury prevention programs, concussion management protocols, emergency action plans, and return-to-play guidelines.
- Monitor athlete recovery and progression throughout rehabilitation.
- Serve as an advocate for athlete health, safety, and performance.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training.
- Active Tennessee Athletic Trainer License (LAT).
- Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
- Current CPR/AED Certification.

Adult ED Holds-
The environment on our unit is friendly, focused on teamwork, and flexible to accommodate our patients’ needs.
We care for adult patients 18 or older who are being treated for a variety of medical diagnoses. Our unit is unique because we have a blended emergency department and inpatient stepdown care delivery model.
Our patient population encompasses a variety of diagnoses and levels of care.
One of the perks of working on my unit is the rare opportunity to gain knowledge and expertise in emergency and inpatient care. Provide the ability to cross train with the main emergency department.
Shift
This is a full-time night shift position. The shift is 7:00pm - 7:00am, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.

Job Summary:
Department: Neurology, Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology, Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Position type: Full time (100% FTE), grant funded for up to five years contingent on continued award funding
Reports to: Contact MPI (Ciaran Considine, PhD, ABPP-CN), with day-to-day program oversight from the division research program manager
Anticipated start: Fall 2026
Schedule: Standard weekday schedule with periodic evening set-ups of ambulatory PSG at the study hotel; flexibility is provided in those weeks (for example, a weekday off in a week with an evening set-up), by arrangement with the supervisor
About the study
The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Departments of Neurology and Radiology are launching a five-year, NIH-funded study of sleep-circadian disruption in behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD), the most common dementia in adults under 60. While hired to this study, the coordinator will also have opportunities to contribute to related research across the Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology as program needs evolve. The study enrolls 50 patients with bvFTD and 50 age-matched cognitively unimpaired adults for 8-night home actigraphy, hotel-based ambulatory polysomnography (PSG), multimodal MRI, and comprehensive neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric assessment. The coordinator is the operational center of the study and the primary point of contact for participants and their caregivers.

Key responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate all participant visits, including the actigraphy window, hotel PSG night(s), MRI sessions at the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science, and in-person neuropsychological testing, working around the multi-day sleep assessment sequence
- Administer and score neuropsychological and behavioral measures under the supervision of the study neuropsychologist (training provided; measures drawn from the NACC Uniform Data Set and FTLD Module)
- Set up, train on, and troubleshoot home actigraphy devices, and perform evening set-ups of ambulatory PSG at the study hotel, including caregiver training on device care and sleep diary completion
- Support recruitment and screening through the Vanderbilt FTD Clinic, ALLFTD cohort, and ADRC healthy control pool; track screening dispositions and enrollment against monthly targets
- Obtain informed consent, including surrogate consent through legally authorized representatives for participants with bvFTD, following IRB-approved procedures
- Enter, clean, and quality-check study data in REDCap; maintain participant tracking, source documentation, and regulatory binders
- Coordinate IRB submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews with the program manager; prepare materials for the weekly diagnostic consensus conference
- Manage device inventory, shipping, charging, and supply reordering; run the automated SMS/email reminder system for diaries and device adherence
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, public health, or a related field
- At least one year of clinical research or clinical care experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Comfort working directly with cognitively impaired adults and their family caregivers, including periodic evening PSG set-ups at the study hotel
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail in data entry and documentation
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for hotel-based PSG set-ups as needed
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with dementia, other neurodegenerative populations, or sleep research
- Familiarity with REDCap, actigraphy, polysomnography, or MRI research workflows
- Familiarity with coding, statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS), or neuroimaging analysis workflows
- Experience administering standardized neuropsychological measures
- CITI human subjects research training and clinical research coordinator certification (or willingness to obtain)

Your Impact as an Acute Care Physical Therapist
As a member of our Acute Care Rehabilitation team, you will:
- Perform evidence-based evaluations and treatment interventions for hospitalized patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses.
- Provide care across diverse inpatient settings, including intensive care units, specialty services, transplant, trauma, and step-down units.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that optimize mobility, function, safety, and discharge outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist (or license-eligible) in the State of Tennessee

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyzes comprehensive information from formal and informal assessment that is pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis.
• Collaborates with stakeholders in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the rehabilitation continuum.
• Applies appropriate, evidence-based interventions to ensure effective outcomes and re-evaluates performance to assess patient's progress towards goals.
• Employs strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Rehab Therapist Patient Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates proficiency in documentation practices. Documents in the appropriate templates and utilizes only approved abbreviations within patient documentation. Meets institutional standards for quality and timeliness of documentation.
• Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in evaluating patients with physical deficits including impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function by obtaining information pertinent to the assessment and administering and scoring standardized tests and objective measures of deficit areas. Selects appropriate measures and performs a functional assessment to document patient's status requiring skilled therapy. Interprets the results of the assessment and their significance to the patient, family, referring physician and other members of the health care team.
• Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient proficiency in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals. Develops and documents patient focused short and long term goals that are functional and measurable. Identifies the need for and referral to other services, as needed.
• Treatment Implementation (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates proficiency in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care. Able to modify treatment plan as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services including progression of treatment throughout course of care, and revision of treatment interventions of goals not met. May supervise and direct certified athletic trainers (PT only), physical therapist / occupational therapist assistants, technicians and volunteers and students. Selects and follows correct protocol for care and utilize evidence based treatments.
• Physical/Occupational Therapist Patient Education (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates proficiency in communicating functional impact of assessment findings, treatment interventions, treatment planning diagnosis, and disease process. Considers the communication needs/level of understanding of audience and may share appropriate information/literature.

Performs tasks within the pharmacy in direct support of the ongoing duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist with occasional guidance. Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of a final dosage form for administration to a patient and are directly supervised by a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person if they cannot answer the requested information. Position Highlights
- Inpatient pediatric pharmacy at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
- Must be actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy in order to be considered.
- Only P1 students will be considered.
- Start date will be in December with expected onboarding over winter break based on availability.
- Every 3rd weekend both Saturday and Sunday with hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm.
- 4-hour medication history shift 5pm-9pm every other week.
- 2 holidays/year assigned.
- Additional learning opportunities each year based on level of education/experience.

Technical Capabilities
- Pharmaceutical Drug Preparation, Dispensing & Distribution (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully review, prepare, dispense and distribute prescribed medications. Where applicable, this includes being proficient in the general principles and techniques of asepsis utilized to compound sterile preparations (CSPs) to minimize the risk of contamination.
- Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Compliance (Novice): Demonstrates working knowledge of the appropriate rules and regulations as they apply to the department and work areas. Maintains current understanding of rules and regulations and facilitates processes that support the application of various rules and regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of process improvement, quality assurance and/or programs. Understands the principles upon which the rules and regulations are based. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement and supports compliance with a federal, state and local regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Pharmaceutical Computer Literacy (Fundamental Awareness): Has demonstrated a basic understanding of computers or has successfully completed training for applications that are used to support medication use processes.
- Drug Inventory & Records Management (Fundamental Awareness): Has general experience working with drug inventory and records management. Demonstrates ability to maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications. Able to collect, organize, and maintain appropriate pharmacy and patient related information.
