The position would entail:
Supervising the Patient Access staff teams in our mission to receive and register all patients.
Oversees daily operations of Patient Access Department
Able to fill any departmental position as needed.
Holds monthly department meetings.
Assists department manager with hiring, orienting, training and maintaining department standards, including corrective actions as necessary.
Implements departmental staffing plans to schedule and maintain adequate staffing .
Prepares and administers annual competency reports , self- learning modules, and ensures annual health assessment completion for all direct reports.
Requirements:
High school diploma or an equivalent, Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in office work, working in Pre-Service or Patient Access operations with supervisory or lead responsibilities
Must be highly organized and able to focus in a diverse, fast-paced environment. Sit, walk and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs., push over 200 lbs. in a wheelchair if needed. Must have manual dexterity and visual ability for keyboarding and data entry. Hearing acuity required for patient interviews. Mental concentration is essential for accurate data collection within a multi-functional, diverse environment.
Must be knowledgeable with various computer programs including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, UKG/Kronos, WorkDay. Experience with Epic is preferred.
Must be able to make administrative decisions in the absence of the Manager.
Pay range: $24.60-$36.90
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location

Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent / GED Minimum of three (3) years' experience with competency in patient access, pre-service & / or registration experience. Ability to obtain a national certification in HFMA CRCR & / or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire.
Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
Previous Leadership Experience Knowledge of federal or state government agencies including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, VA or Charity Care programs, or patient management & healthcare accounts receivable within the revenue cycle.

Purpose
Provides patient focused customer service. Performs outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices.

What you will do:
The Supervisor of Physician Practice is responsible for the efficient daily operations of assigned office. Is responsible for hiring and supervising support staff, oversees day to day practice operations including maintenance of Medical Records, Human Resources Management , property and facilities equipment, billing, and adheres to OSHA, JCAHO and DOH requirements. - Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.

- Assists the RN with the daily care of assigned patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, repositioning, ambulation and feeding. Also performs general cleaning duties as assigned.
- Performs a wide variety of patient care tasks to support activities of daily living, as well as specific technical tasks and/or monitoring required for the patients' individualized written care plan.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, temperature, pulse, respiration (TPRs), intake and output (I & O), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Promptly communicates observations, concerns and needs of the patient to the RN.
- Independently performs more advanced patient care treatments as delegated by the RN, which may include but not be limited to arterial sheath removal, bladder scanning, insertion and removal of Foley catheter, drawing arterial blood sample and performing activated clotting time (ACT ) point-of-care testing on arterial blood samples, using telemetry system and bedside monitoring system, intravenous (IV) insertion, site care and removal (peripheral), telemetry monitoring and interpretation, performing a 12 lead electrocardiogram (ekg), and phlebotomy.
- Monitors patient and keeps RN informed of patient status. Contacts RN if the following situations arise: hypotension, dysrhythmias, chest pain, hypoglycemia or any procedure site complications; follows established procedure for emergency care that may arise while caring for the patient until the RN arrives.
- Performs data collection for presence of pain, procedure site checks, extremity pulse checks and reports to RN.

Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute, critical and chronic patients illness and diseases within both an outpatient clinic and inpatient/OR hospital setting.

- Prescribes, recommends and regulates pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies across multiple care settings, including controlled medications that are warranted by patient's diagnosis or changing medical condition.
- Prepares, dictates and signs patient care plans and summaries of patient care. Maintains records according to established standards and guidelines.
- Provides clinical direction to nursing staff regarding the continued care of patients. Follows through with nursing staff to ensure patient receives recommended care.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Unit Description
Our Banner Boswell Ortho PCU is a combined acute care specialty unit serving both Progressive Care and Medical Surgical patients as part of our Progress in Place initiative.
Our 5A/5B is a 41-bed unit specializing in the care of post operative orthopedic patients including pre and post-op surgical care for a wide range of orthopedic cases ranging from total joint replacements to fractures. As a RN on our unit, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of our patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice.
5D is a 20-bed orthopedics and GI post-surgical unit, dedicated to the care of postoperative gastrointestinal surgeries. This inpatient unit specializes in the care of GI patients including pre and post-op surgical care for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders as well as general medical/surgical overflow.
As a RN on our unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly efficient team surrounded by engaged team members working to meet positive patient outcomes with an emphasis on demonstrating our value of Customer Obsession. The team focus is on creating a healthy work environment through collaboration, hourly rounding, prompt answering of call lights, culture of clean and quiet and acknowledging a “one team” culture.
This is a unique assignment-based PRN position, meaning that you will be dedicated to only one specific unit at this facility. No floating to any other unit or facility. We have Night shift openings, 7pm - 7:30am, 2 shifts per month minimum, specific to this unit. This position offers a generous 18% night-differential and an additional flat rate weekend differential of $3/hour when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. 3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.

Unit Description
Our Banner Boswell Ortho PCU is a combined acute care specialty unit serving both Progressive Care and Medical Surgical patients as part of our Progress in Place initiative.
Our 5A/5B is a 41-bed unit specializing in the care of post operative orthopedic patients including pre and post-op surgical care for a wide range of orthopedic cases ranging from total joint replacements to fractures. As a RN on our unit, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of our patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice.
5D is a 20-bed orthopedics and GI post-surgical unit, dedicated to the care of postoperative gastrointestinal surgeries. This inpatient unit specializes in the care of GI patients including pre and post-op surgical care for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders as well as general medical/surgical overflow.
As a RN on our unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly efficient team surrounded by engaged team members working to meet positive patient outcomes with an emphasis on demonstrating our value of Customer Obsession. The team focus is on creating a healthy work environment through collaboration, hourly rounding, prompt answering of call lights, culture of clean and quiet and acknowledging a “one team” culture.
This is a unique assignment-based PRN position, meaning that you will be dedicated to only one specific unit at this facility. No floating to any other unit or facility. We have Night shift openings, 7pm - 7:30am, 2 shifts per month minimum, specific to this unit. This position offers a generous 18% night-differential and an additional flat rate weekend differential of $3/hour when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. 3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.

POSITION SUMMARY

2. Demonstrates and maintains competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols and oral nutrition management standard of practice as demonstrated by successful completion of initial competency exams and ongoing evaluation.
3. Initiates and manages the nutrition care, writing orders if applicable per state regulations, for all assigned patients including those receiving nutrition support (parenteral and enteral nutrition) per protocols.
4. Evaluates effectiveness of the care plan and communicates effectively to the other members of the healthcare team to provide optimal nutrition outcomes. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for scheduling surgical, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures using a computerized scheduling system. The position is also responsible for entering patient charges, orders, and other pertinent information into the system and compiling and reporting statistical information to management. The incumbent may act as an office liaison for department staff, physicians, and patient families.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Coordinates case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures in a computerized scheduling system. Verifies and reviews physician privilege status prior to scheduling. Interfaces with medical staff office to maintain log of current privilege status and maintains confidentially of all information. May acquire and maintain physician preference information and staff roster.
2. Acquires authorization numbers, History and Physicals, results of laboratory tests and verifies that they are current. Orders previous medical records for the day of the procedure, when necessary.
3. Types and prints physician orders for multiple physicians and departments. Schedules and maintains physician block time, and block time releases.
4. Enters physician’s orders for lab, blood bank, medical imaging, and cardiology. Enters results of diagnostic tests, patient registration information and patient charges. Compiles data and prepares statistical reports for management.
5. Conducts charge management audits for assigned area. Reconciles charge packet information with the audit. Identifies missed or incorrect charges and corrects when appropriate.
6. Acts as a receptionist to assigned unit; answers phones, relays message. Greets and directs patients, visitors, physicians, and families and answers questions about policies and procedures. Acts as a liaison among nursing units, physician and staff to relay patient data. Screens requests for patient information and refers to appropriate staff. Records and types minutes of staff meetings, when required. Prepares and distributes staff call roster each month.
7. Enters facility work orders and supply orders when required by assigned department. Requests repairs/maintenance for business machines in the department. Arranges for pickup and delivery of instruments and equipment and completes all necessary paperwork.
