Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures proper patient identification and maintains patient safety, privacy, confidentiality and follows guidelines under HIPAA.
• Obtains and records vital signs, pain screens, weights and heights accurately into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Reports changes and/or abnormalities in vital signs; findings that are outside of defined parameters; and changes in patient’s conditions to the nursing/medical staff in a timely manner.
• Obtains specimens (urine, stool, sputum, etc.) and ensures accurate labeling in presence of patient.Instructs patients/family members in collecting specimens.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as applicable and is competent in the two patient identifier practice.
• May precept with specific training.
• Assists with disease center specific procedural needs as applicable.
• Transports patients, medical records, specimens, blood components, equipment and supplies in accordance with Institute policy.
• Ensures that all patients on schedule are accounted for and communicate with providers/patients and colleagues as to approximate wait times.
• May be required to assist with research specific patient data entry as required.
• Assures that all clinical areas have an adequate stock of medical supplies, equipment, and forms.
• Assist with medical record preparation.
• Properly cleans and maintains equipment and patient care environment.
• Maintains a working knowledge of current computer systems used in clinical areas.
• Understands and utilizes the telephone/pager systems, including text paging staff, call system and emergency response system.
• Provides proactive instruction and time expectations to patient and family.
• Communicates patient and family status difficulties and concerns to appropriate staff.
• Attends mandatory training and education sessions, completes mandatory annual competency assessments and follows Institute policies.
• Accepts additional responsibilities based on the changing needs of patients, families, staff and unit.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Clinical Qualification:
o Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program inclusive of an externship; or
o 1 year of experience in a Medical Assistant, Clinical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant or related clinical role (i.e. Emergency Medical Technician, Clinical role with military environment or Emergency department technician experience).
o In some cases, Nurse Students in an accredited Bachelor’s program with at least 2 completed clinical rotations may be considered.
• Applies Institute policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.Works on problems of limited scope.Builds stable working relationships internally.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
• Phlebotomy certification may be preferred based on location (Yawkey 2, Satellites).
• BLS Certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice.I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.

Performs duties to ensure accurate and timely patient meal services, including menu selection, tray assembly, and delivery of food to assigned patients. Serves as liaison between patients, Nursing unit, Dietitians, Food Service staff and Food Service Management in the communication of patient special requests, issues, and concerns. Works as a cooperative team member in support of the established goals and objectives of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
Major Responsibilities:
- Delivers patient trays as assigned, including regularly scheduled meals, snacks, floor supplies and NOW trays. Assists patients with proper positioning of food tray, reviews menu selections with patient and opening of items as necessary.
- Loads and pushes hot and cold food trucks to and from patient units. Transports various related equipment to appropriate areas. Loads and operates cart lifts, dumbwaiters and elevators.
- Responsible for completing the menu rounds process for assigned patients to communicate menu system and record menu choices in a timely and efficient manner. Adjusts menus accordingly for modified diets. Reviews individual diet prescriptions with patients, as applicable. Informs patients regarding appropriate food alternatives/options as necessary due to dietary restrictions.
- Retrieves all patient trays and delivers to the main kitchen. Cleans and restocks cart.
- Utilizes computerized menu planning system to generate current diet order lists. Verifies for accuracy with unit charge nurse and/or designee.

Performs duties to ensure accurate and timely patient meal services, including menu selection, tray assembly, and delivery of food to assigned patients. - All requirements must be met in reference to any medical equipment related recall.
- Documentation and follow-up are critical in these situations.
- Demonstrates customer focus skills and good interpersonal relationships.

The Senior Research Administrator is responsible for the management of complex research portfolios for multiple laboratories and completes work autonomously, updating the department administrator as necessary. The Senior RA serves in a leadership role within the department business office, functioning as a senior resource to peers within the department and across the Institute.The Senior Research Administrator is responsible for a diverse set of funding types including federal, industry, foundation, donor, institutional, chargeback, and clinical trials. - The Senior RA is responsible for the following primary functions autonomously with supervisory input as needed
- Grant Preparation (pre-award): Responsible for all administrative aspects of grant preparation of sponsored research applications. Review sponsor eligibility and application requirements and ensure applicants understand them, responsible for the entire application excluding scientific content, meet and communicate internal and external deadlines in a strict deadline-driven environment, research funding opportunities for investigators, draft non-scientific materials for proposals, coordinate with administrators and faculty from other departments or organizations to complete proposals, coordinate institutional review of proposals by Grants & Contracts and submission to sponsors, prepare JIT information and responses to other pre-award inquiries.
- Portfolio Management (post-award): Responsible for the financial management of sponsored and institutional funds portfolio management. Prepare financial and narrative reports for sponsors while managing and adhering to specified deadlines, provide projection and project summary reports to investigators on a regular basis, ensure spending adheres to budget and sponsor and Institute guidelines, invoice and monitor receivables for clinical trial enrollment when appropriate, establish billing agreements as appropriate, track milestones and receivables for industry agreements.
- Procurement:Approve and/or initiate purchase requests for investigators and laboratory members via Purchase Orders and PCard. Verify funds are available, expenses are allowable and correctly allocated in a timely manner. Review and approve bills for core and center services.
- Human Resources:Onboarding - conduct financial analysis to determine availability of funding, assist in the development of job descriptions, post positions, approve salary offers, process visa applications and payments as appropriate. Ongoing - process merit, equity and promotions requests. Manage salary allocations in adherence to funding guidelines and availability. Offboarding - manage termination process checklist, process termination paperwork.
- Compliance: Partners with faculty and researchers to ensure adherence to internal and external policies. This includes consulting with faculty/OGC/Innovations on MTA, DUA and consulting agreement processes. Also includes advising faculty and researchers and/or referring them to appropriate resources for other compliance issues such as financial conflict of interest and foreign influence. Educate new researchers and manage the federal time and effort process for applicable researchers. Continuous learning and educating of researchers on NIH Grants Policy Statement and DFCI Policies. Review Time and Effort prior to routing to researchers for certification.
- Cores, Centers and Chargebacks: Assist in pricing development and annual review of pricing, process monthly billing for internal and external customers, manage funds to ensure revenue meets expenditures.

23. Works with Manager and secretarial staff to ensure schedules are managed well to achieve targeted productivity and clinic budget.
24. Acute Care physical therapists that see patients on the IP Rehab Unit will be required to participate in interdisciplinary team meetings 1-2 times per week.
25. Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings and inservices.

Provides patient focused customer service within the Emergency Department. Performs outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Practices in accordance with all federal and state regulations, DFCI policies and Joint Commission standards.
2. Responsible for designated daily operations and/or clinical activities of assigned area.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform various routines and complex technical procedures on body fluids, utilizing laboratory equipment.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments; identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or report of test results and either correct or immediately notify supervisor; document all corrective action when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
