Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Required - 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military
Certifications
Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV report
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individual.
This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure.
Job Duties
Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
Investigates accidents and other incidents which are assigned and reports all occurrences in a timely manner.
Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security related duties as assigned.
Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Other related duties as required.

The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.

Education
Required - currently enrolled in an Associate, Baccalaureate or Diploma prelicensure nursing program of an approved nursing school or graduate of an undergraduate Associate, Baccalaureate or Diploma nursing program within twelve (12) months of their first unsuccessful attempt at the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) examination.
Work Experience
Required – Must have successfully completed at least one hospital-based clinical rotation or must be within twelve (12) months of their first unsuccessful attempt at the NCLEX-RN examination.
Certifications
Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days from hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
The nurse intern may perform procedures and/or tasks for which they have been educated and cleared by and/or by graduation from an accredited or state board approved prelicensure nursing education program.
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills.
Job Duties
Completes accurate patient assessments and treatments, reports pertinent findings, and takes appropriate action.
Administers medications and treatments as ordered under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.
Evaluate patient response to medications and treatments and document outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Evaluates patient care through systematic assessment of patient outcomes.
Answers call lights and assist patients with personal hygiene and other activities of daily life (ADLs).
The nurse intern will update the nursing care plan in the EMR per hospital protocol and as needed.
Assists in admitting, discharging, and transferring patients alongside the assigned Registered nurse.
Performs other duties within their scope of practice as listed on the Student Nurse Intern Skills List.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
