$41.10 - $61.65Our 10-bed Progressive Care Unit provides a supportive, team-oriented environment where nurses care for a diverse range of medical patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring. The unit fosters strong collaboration, professional development, and a culture of compassion that makes it a rewarding place to work and grow.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to the health care team with an emphasis on coordination of patient care and throughput of patients. Demonstrates technical and clinical competence and serves as clinical resource person and role model for staff. Facilitates the development of safe/effective plans through early identification of patient needs and resources. Anticipate medical/psychosocial needs in high-risk patients. Facilitate appropriate clinical pathways and plans of care. Participate in daily rounds on all patients with a focus on discharge planning. Serves as charge nurse and operational leader for patient flow when not in administrative role. Assures that patient and caregivers are aware of the patient care plan and anticipated day of discharge. Responds to customer concerns or complaints timely. Alerts physicians of cases needing review and/or discussion. Acts as a liaison between patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary health care team regarding plan of care and progress towards goals. Works with Clinical Intake and Navigation Center to effect efficient patient flow. Reviews and amends staffing to determine immediate needs and anticipates staffing needs for future shifts. Facilitates the accomplishment of a safe discharge plan related to patient needs and payor specifications. Engages with patient, family and post-acute care to ensure post discharge planning and follow-up actions are taken by appropriate personnel.
- Participates in the evaluation of staff performance. Aligns educational activities with organizational and departmental goals. Assures timely, sufficient communication and provision of educational activities. Works with unit leadership to facilitate orientation for staff new to the department. Assures that orientation, education and competency checklists are completed and stored appropriately.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Current RN license with the Georgia State Board of Nursing
- Must attend hospital mandatory training annually. Must maintain and successfully complete all competencies-including age specific and other department specific training on an annual basis. Training Requirements- internally developed and national/ professional organization courses- to be completed in unit-specified time period
Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Experience Required:
Minimum 6 months experience as a Clinical Nurse. Prefer 2 years of experience as a Clinical Nurse and 6 months of experience functioning as a Charge Nurse.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to use visual near and distance acuity. Must have verbal ability to communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to assist co-workers in transfers and transport supplies, patients/residents, or equipment using good body mechanics. Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with grip strength of 60-80 pounds, specific to the job class evaluation. Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and change from one position to the other rapidly. Must be able to lift 25-60 lbs. and carry 25-50 pounds specific to job class evaluation. Must be able to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres and noxious odors. Must be able to work in noisy environments and be self-directed to complete jobs as ordered. Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Must be able to assist co-workers in multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously. Works in hospital and clinical environments. May work in extreme heat with hot materials. Must be able to utilize appropriate universal and specific precautions for protection from potential exposure to infectious or communicable diseases. Must be able to prioritize job tasks and organize workspace to be efficient and conducive to completing work tasks as assigned in a timely manner.

Performs a variety of clerical, distributive, technical and data gathering duties in order to provide medications to patients and support the pharmacists.
Major Responsibilities
- Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications
- Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances
- Assists with medication distribution tasks
- Screens phone calls and routes as needed using proper telephone and voicemail etiquette
- Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking
- Complete documentation required for removing, stocking, and wasting controlled substances, where applicable
- Perform nonsterile compounding following proper USP standards, where applicable
- Perform sterile IV admixture, as defined at the entity level, using proper aseptic technique, where applicable
- Inspects all assigned medication storage areas for adherence to storage policies
- Completes and documents medication admission histories, as applicable at the facility level
- Seeks additional duties when required work is done and accepts other duties as assigned
- May participate in quality improvement initiatives to assure the excellence of departmental services
- May assist in training pharmacy technicians and extenders in orientation to the policies, procedures, and workflows involved in pharmacy operations as applicable at entity level
- Abides by all organization policies and procedures and complies with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards
- Supports area leaders regarding goals and work assignments
- Obtaining and recording initial patient demographic and other required information, data entry of required information into the pharmacy system for record keeping, insurance verification and label generation purposes, and cashiering
- Develop competence in third-party billing functions

- May obtain immunization certification and perform immunizations for patients under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, where applicable

Minimum Job Requirements
Education

Certification / Registration / License
- Registration or licensure with Georgia state board of pharmacy
- Must receive certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT) within 18 months from start date, or sooner if in more stringent in state
Experience preferred:
- The ideal candidate will be certified with hospital experience such as loading Pyxis, operating Medication Carousel and Inventory management.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, crawl and reach above shoulders
- Requires considerable walking, standing, pushing mobile cart of approximately 50 pounds and lifting 35 pounds of material
- Must have functional vision, touch and hearing
- Must be able to speak and be understood by others to communicate effectively

Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 60-80 pounds, specific to the job class evaluation. Perform medical records duties such as filing, scanning and send outs as required.High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year front office and/or medical records experience in physician office or similar setting required. Must be able to use a computer and be familiar with Medical Office programs including EMR systems. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet applications required. Basic knowledge of medical terminology required . Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Description:
Position Summary: Audits, verifies inputs and balances all charges as assigned. Participates in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures as appropriate. Assists in the preparation of reports and audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations.
Position Requirements:
A: Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant training preferred OR Licensed Practical Nurse
B. Education: High School Graduate or GED equivalent required; Certified Medical Assistant or LPN required
C: Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the medical office or similar setting in working with physicians and medical billing required. Medical Billing and/or Coding certification preferred. Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes required if not certified. Must be proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, internet applications and medical office management and EMR systems.
Special Qualifications: Basic knowledge of medical terminology required. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be very self-directed and able to step into various roles in the practice as requested.
Degree of Supervision Required: Must possess ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Reports to office manager.
