Job Summary
Position responsible for direction, management, development and organization of the Medical Staff Services Department. This position manages and directs the Medical Staff Assistant. Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree in Medical Staff Services or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Three (3) years in a Medical Staff office with progressive responsibilities
Excellent organizational and communication skills and effective meeting management skills
Proficient in the use of multiple software programs including but not limited to: MS Office and desk top publishing
Principal Accountabilities
Directs and supervises the activities of the Medical Staff Assistant, including, hiring, training, assigning work, counseling, timely distribution of monthly mailings to the medical staff, ER Call Schedules and other communications to the medical staff, as well as the coordination of CME offerings.
Manages and maintains the documentation of all minutes to ensure compliance with the Bylaws and Rules of the Medical Staff and regulatory agencies.
Maintains official medical staff documents, including Master Copy of Medical Staff Policies & Procedures, Bylaws and Rules of the Medical Staff meeting attendance records.
Collaborates with physician leadership to ensure Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations meet standards of regulatory agencies, as well as community standards.
Ensures all incoming applicants meet the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, sections and services for which they are applying.
Responsible for generating reports and reviewing information related to reappointments to the Medical Staff, and ensuring the appropriate Medical Staff Leadership is informed of all pertinent information.
Develops and implements orientation programs for the Medical Staff Officers and new physicians to the staff; as well as ensures that new medical staff members are adequately oriented to the facility.
Develops and maintains policy and procedure manuals for the Medical Staff Office.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.

7SW (Surgical & General Trauma Unit): is a 33-bed adult inpatient surgical unit located on the 7th floor occupying the south and west wings. Patient population may include but not limited to the following: Trauma, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Gynecology and Medicine. 7SW is a semi-private unit. RN works with a PCT. A charge RN is assigned for both shifts to facilitate immediate unit needs and acts as direct resource. Acute nursing care treatment and monitoring modalities include but not limited to periodic vital signs, centralized telemetry, oxygen monitoring, glucose monitoring and wound care. Most common diagnoses and surgical procedures are traumatic brain injury, polytraumas, cholecystectomies, prostatectomies, joint replacements, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) urinary diversions, and other urologic procedures, bowel resections and ostomies.

The CT Technologist I perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This equipment includes scanner, post processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport and patient monitoring equipment.
Essential Functions
- Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam. Contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
- Properly identify (Using two patient identifiers) and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents on appropriate worksheets.
- Interviews patients for a complete medical history. Reviews in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history. Records medical history on requisitions. Correlates other test results and laboratory data with exam being performed.
- Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.
- Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols. On request, records contrast type and amount.
- Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed. Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional, reconstructed images, and/or measurements as instructed.
- Performs basic patient care functions. Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary. Assists in “code blue” procedures during medical emergencies.
- Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures. Practices proper sterile technique in the preparation of necessary supplies. Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Is authorized to obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner.
- Practices principle of radiation safety for self, employees, patients and family members. Follows appropriate radiation safety standards
- Reports malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.
- Precautions. Maintains knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease.
- Adheres to the hospital fire and safety procedures. Attends all in-service classes and completes all required safety modules.
- Performs work in an accurate and timely manner in periods of crisis and emergency situations where time is critical. Rotates shifts as required including call back, holidays, and weekends. Adheres to the Atrium Health attendance policy by being punctual and taking measures to prevent absences.
- Operates radiology computer system to include entering orders and charging procedures/supplies. Documents contrast administration in the MAR.
- Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Keeps area completely stocked. Cleans all work areas to promote cleanliness in the workplace.
- Assists other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a CT scan.
Physical Requirements
Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. Frequently may be required to stretch, bend twist, squat or kneel in the daily operation of the CT department. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment. Required to use radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology required. ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire required in addition to current CPR certification.

$18.85 - $28.30Major Responsibilities:- Assembles patient and mobile meal trays/meals in accordance with approved diet guidelines and portions while adhering to productivity standards.
- Loads and transports food carts. Delivers patient meal trays to patient rooms in accordance with established procedures.
- May provide initial service to visitors in the cafeteria by serving food and maintaining the cleanliness of the cafeteria. Responsible for operating cash register, handling cash and completing daily reports and cash register balance sheets as needed.
- Performs cleaning duties using established sanitation procedures in the kitchen and cafeteria. Washes pots, pans, and dishes according to established procedures.
- Assists with preparation, delivery, setup, cleanup and presentation of catered and specialized events. Assists with "special days/promotions", including decorating. Displays daily specials for presentation to customers. Coordinates the food preparation and presentation of all major catering.
- Prepares snacks, beverages, sandwiches and other patient food items in accordance with standardized recipes and approved diet guidelines and portions while adhering to productivity standards.
- Prepares, arranges, serves and replenishes supplies of food, beverages and condiments in retail areas and kitchen. Prepares entrees, grill and deli sandwiches, and salads with an emphasis on food garnishing and presentation. Replenishes food service areas to include supply of dishes, utensils, glassware, napkins and trays.
- Delivers and stocks all nursing units, doctors' lounges, same day surgery and emergency rooms, following established procedures while adhering to productivity standards.
- Monitors food temperatures and utilizes established procedures to ensure safe food handling techniques and prevent foodborne illness.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

- You will process meal orders and monitor diet orders for appropriate menu modifications
- You will maintain accuracy between patient trays, visiting patients, delivery, and pick-up of patient meal trays
- You will collaborate with a team of Nursing staff, Doctors, Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians, and other department staff to provide optimal nutrition care for patients
- You will engage in a variety of consistent and routine functions with excellent customer service
