Job Description:
The Pharmacy Technician demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. The position participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or technician supervisor and is an integral part of the pharmacy team. This position supports Pharmacy Services in all locations (i.e., acute, community, ambulatory, specialty).
This position will work Full-time, 40 hours per week. Shift details: Monday-Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
Essential Functions
- Assists with all phases of pharmacy services while under the supervision of a pharmacist as required by state of practice and job duties.
- Answers phones and provides excellent customer service as appropriate to practice site.
- Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining appropriate records as required by regulation and policy.
- Utilizes pharmacy technology effectively to prepare medication orders for dispensing, performs calculations as necessary, and compounds medications for accurate compounding as appropriate to practice site, in accordance with state law, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Attains appropriate supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist(s) and clearly understands when a pharmacist must verify tasks and activities.
- Accurately fills and maintains medication supplies including verifying and monitoring controlled substance inventories to ensure security, accuracy, cost effectiveness, and 340B/Charging management as required to practice site.
- Packages and labels medications accurately and appropriately to minimize waste as appropriate to practice site and job duties.
- Ensures pharmacy cleanliness and orderliness as appropriate to practice site.
- Communicates with caregivers regarding responsibilities, identified concerns, and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff and takes appropriate actions to escalate items to the pharmacist for review as appropriate based on urgency, regulations, and scope.
- Participates in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback and identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction and seeks a team approach to developing and achieving best practices and processes.

- Delivers detail-oriented, consistent, flexible care and completes advanced tasks consistent with scope and performs other duties as assigned by management.

- Participates in and supports financial responsibilities of the department, facility, and Intermountain Health.
- Provides delivery of medications, information, and service in a professional, timely manner and is actively engaged in department and team goals, activities, and projects.

The requirements list must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. - Regular attendance to perform work during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required. Work may be performed on site or remote as appropriate to practice site.
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service-oriented environment.
- Competent in understanding and usage of computers and software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google. Ability to learn new applications relevant to the position.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as appropriate to practice site.
Qualifications
- High School or equivalent is required
- Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
- Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.
- Any lapse or failure to meet these requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to termination, at the hiring manager's discretion.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and High School Diploma or GED required
Licenses/Certifications:
Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required. ACPE I.V Certification with completion of 40-hour course in I.V. admixture preferred
Sterile Products Certification through accredited program is required if incumbent compounds sterile products
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
1- 2 years hospital pharmacy experience is preferred
Must have knowledge of medical terminology
Principal Accountabilities
Selects prescribed medications according to dosage and strength indicated on patient medication file or cart-fill list.
Receives merchandise and places into inventory.
Monitors assigned areas for out-of-stock or out-of-date inventory.
Delivers medications to the patient care areas.
Inspects and maintains emergency medication trays.
Packages and labels unit dose oral liquids/tablets, and maintains pre-pack records.
Collects and loads drugs into an automated drug dispensing system (PYXIS). Maintains inventory for non-automated patient care areas.
Responds to requests for medications from nursing personnel and other departments.
Follows processes to ensure all medications are compliant to technology safety checks.
Prepares sterile products in an accurate and aseptic manner when appropriate.
Attends to customers as a liaison and gathers a medication history if applicable.
Properly manage pharmaceutical waste.
Credits patients for returned medications using the computer system, and returns the medication to inventory.
If a registered intern: Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, contacts and confers with physicians concerning the appropriate drug, dose, dosing interval, drug allergy and drug-drug interactions.
Ensures safe care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

The HVI Care Coordinator has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of assigned. HVI patients in area of specialty. This position assists the team and coordinates involvement of other specialty teams necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient, and reviews the plan of care with the other members of the clinical team, participates in patient care, organizes procedures/services, and coordinates discharge planning (as applicable). This position may participate in the education of employees, residents and medical/nursing students.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To apply for the next level, the CAPE nurse must meet the requirements of their current level. They must also meet the required years of nursing experience, degree, and certification to apply for the next level. Advocate Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant with Neonatal Fellowship Training to join our collaborative neonatal team in Oak Lawn. This position offers the opportunity to care for high-acuity neonatal patients in a dynamic Level III/IV NICU environment while working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional neonatal care.
Position Summary
The Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive, evidence-based care to critically ill and premature newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The APP will perform advanced assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, manage complex neonatal conditions, and collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team.
This role requires flexibility and a commitment to providing 24/7 neonatal coverage through a rotating schedule that includes day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced neonatal care in a high-acuity NICU setting.

Job Summary:
A Patient Care Tech (PCT) at ProMedica plays a vital role in the health and safety of our patients every day. From caring for patients to performing clerical services, a PCT helps all members of the ProMedica health care team while complying with standards, procedures, and policies. A PCT is a genuine ambassador for ProMedica as they interact with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
The PCT assists the patient care team with exams, procedures, obtaining patient data and other processes related to direct patient care. The PCT also ensures an appropriate stock of supplies and equipment is available and functioning properly.
In this role, you will perform tasks related to scheduling procedures, coordinating admission as well as discharge and transfer processes. PCTs answer phones, take messages, and direct calls. You will also pick up and deliver specimens, documents, and other items to contribute to operational efficiency.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Maintains established standards of patient care and policies and procedures of ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital and the nursing department.
- Answers call lights, ensure patient’s needs, acts upon routine requests, or relays information to the proper person.
- Assists patients with or provides personal hygiene care and other routine services patients requiring assistance such as bathing, dressing, shaving, offering, and removing bed pans, and so forth.
- Serves patients with food trays and snacks and removes trays. Assists feeding patients if necessary.
- May obtain and record patient’s vital signs including temperatures, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure readings, patient’s intake and output glucometer checks, patient weights, and other routine pertinent information. Observes patients’ conditions and medical equipment or apparatus reporting all unusual conditions or reactions to the appropriate nursing personnel. May assist nurses and physicians with patient examinations. Initiates and discontinues telemetry monitoring while maintaining a knowledge of the telemetry transmitter (i.e., changing patches, changing batteries).
- Performs rounding in assigned rooms every other hour on patient to determine need for restroom, position change, possessions, and need for additional nursing care. Tidies patients’ rooms, changes bed linens, empties medical apparatus of patient discharges, and performs routine cleaning tasks on the nursing unit, as necessary.
- Assists in admitting patients to the nursing unit, obtaining necessary or specialized supplies or equipment, explaining hospital routines, policies and so forth. Ambulates or assists in the ambulation of patients; assists in lifting patients in order to transfer them to and from wheelchair or wheeled beds; assists patients in walking; and transports patients to other areas of the hospital.
- Assists and maintains participation in performance improvement and customer service improvement activities for patient care. Attends department meetings. Assists with the orientation of new personnel.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Skills: The ability to perform routine patient care functions such as baths, taking temperatures, pulse and respiration and blood pressure. One to four weeks of on-the-job training at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in order to become familiar with job responsibilities and duties, the work area, and policies and procedures. Must be able to follow routine written and/or verbal instructions. Must have interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with patients of the following ages: Pediatric (8-12 years); adolescent (13-17 years); adult (18-64 years); and geriatric (64 years and above); physicians, other hospital personnel as needed to promote quality patient care. Due to continuously changing patient census/activity and staffing needs, must have the flexibility to work a varying schedule should the need arise, which may require working a varying shift, overtime (greater than 40 hours per week) and/or shift durations that exceed the assigned status for shift length and/or hours per week.
- License: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

Bronson Methodist Hospital Outpatient Patient Access Representative PRNPatient Representatives are instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of patient access needs throughout the organization. Responsibilities may include greeting and registering patients, gathering and entering appropriate demographic and insurance/billing information, verification, scheduling appointments, providing patients with financial information, price estimates and the collection and entry of payments. Current knowledge of billing and coding requirements and the ability to apply these based on industry standards is required. Ability to resolve patient financial issues and negotiate payment arrangements. Representatives must fully understand the ramifications and impact of incomplete or inaccurate information to patient care and the overall revenue cycle. Position works in a team environment and delivers exceptional customer service. Other duties as assigned. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Patient Representatives assigned to an Emergency Department team will be placed into a weekend standby rotation based on facility. This standby rotation begins Friday at 7pm to Monday at 7am. This standby rotation could occur from two to no more than six times a year.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
- Basic typing at 45 WPM, basic ten key, and computer skills within a Windows environment.
- Experience with multiple computer applications/operating systems, and office machines.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, insurance payer regulations and requirements, and patient rights.
