Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Cytotechnologist to join our team!Schedule: Part-time, day shifts
Prepares, stains, mounts, and studies cells of the human body to detect evidence of cancer, abnormalities, and other pathological conditions, following established standards and guidelines. Prepares and examines microscopic slides from specimens of blood, scrapings, or other bodily exudates. Fixes and stains the slides to preserve specimen and enhance visibility of cells under the microscope. Works closely with the pathologist to report abnormalities.
CANDIDATES MUST BE CT (ASCP) OR ELIGIBLE TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION
Job Responsibilities
Works to produce lab tests in an efficient organized manner.
Actively adheres to the department’s STAT protocol.
Is skilled at assigning appropriate priority to samples received.
Microscopically screens all slides, submitting appropriate slides to the pathologist for review.
Ensures that all technical and administrative duties relevant to Cytology are performed in accordance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Recognizes the importance of accurate patient identification and specimen labeling and adheres to the Laboratory Patient Identification Policy and Specimen Re-Labeling Policy.
Prepares solutions and reagents used in conducting tests.
Efficiently and accurately performs assigned analytical testing using independent judgment as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned/required by manager.

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our 4NW ICU Medicine Unit at Loyola University Medical Center. Our nurses are committed to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting one another in a collaborative, team-focused environment. This unit offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while expanding critical care and medical-surgical nursing skills.
The 4NW Medicine Unit includes 16 beds: 8 MICU beds and 8 Med Surg beds, caring for patients with diagnoses which including sepsis/septic shock, acute respiratory failure, post-cardiac arrest, liver failure, and GI bleeds. Our team is supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist focused on nursing excellence, quality improvement, and professional development. Job Description:
The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.
The Nursing Graduate job can be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are working toward preparing, testing, and passing the State Boards examination (obtaining an RN license). After that 12-week period, or if the Nursing Graduate fails the State Board exam a second time, the employee can no longer remain in the Nurse Graduate job. These employees can apply for any open jobs they qualify for, including jobs requiring a certification the employee currently holds (i.e., CNA, etc.). Failure to either pass boards or to be hired into another job will result in termination.
Registered Nurse graduates must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program before providing direct patient care (including direct patient care supervised by a licensed RN).

Essential Functions
- Demonstrates understanding of the steps in the nursing process and how the patient plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised to meet the needs of the patient (under direct supervision of an RN).
- Assessment: Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) under the direct supervision of the RN and reports significant changes in patient condition. Completes accurate documentation also under the direct supervision of the RN.
- Planning: Observes and discusses with the RN the prioritization of patient needs among all patients assigned to their care during any one shift, and observes the development and modification of the interdisciplinary plan of care used to care for individual patients (under the direct supervision of the RN).
- Implementation: Observes the implementation of the patient plan of care, giving consideration to specialized needs of patients such as their physical, emotional, and social needs, age, ethnic origin, and other factors (under the direct supervision of the RN).
- Evaluation: Reports patient responses to treatments and collaborates with the RN regarding changes requiring modification of nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
- Participates in patient/family education needs, under the supervision of the RN, as determined by initial and ongoing assessments, patient diagnosis, level of learning readiness, and patient/family/SO requests using other disciplines as appropriate.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for patient care delivery within their defined role (under the direct supervision of the RN), and routinely observes and discusses all aspects of care with the RN regarding patient care delivery.
- Recognizes and demonstrates legal/ethical implications of care delivery by practicing as a Nursing Resident under the supervision of the RN, complying with regulatory standards, completing accurate documentation, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations, and completes orientation and training requirements, including successful progression through and completion of the Nursing Residency program.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Must have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing required.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.

- Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record that is utilized by all members of the healthcare team. Prevents creation of duplicate medical records that can cause treatment safety issues and billing problems. Follows and ensures compliance with the mandate of the organization’s accrediting bodies to use identifiers to positively identify a patient prior to the delivery of patient care to ensure patient safety.
- Checks in and registers patients; obtains and verifies complete demographic, guarantor, and insurance information; discusses and collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket patient responsibilities. Obtaining accurate information at the point of registration helps ensure timely payment to the organization and prevents billing issues and patient complaints. Maintains complete confidentiality regarding patient personal/financial information and medical records in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
Full time, 36 hours a week, nights (5pm - 5am)
The Mother baby unit at Logan Regional Hospital is a 29 bed unit. We primarily take care of the mother baby couplet after delivery through the rest of their stay. We also take care of GYN surgeries. We care for all acuities of postpartum patients and take care of newborns 35 weeks and above. We have an excellent lactation team that is here to support us and our patients in establishing breastfeeding. We strive to help each one of our patients, adult and newborn, to have the best experience possible. We are family oriented. The team here in Logan is invested in continually improving and we have great corroboration between the other women and newborn units here in the hospital.

They are at the forefront of patient care and adhere to and enforce the standards for laboratory compliance and safety regulations.
- Adherence to personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including but not limited to gowns, gloves, lab coats, face shields, and masks.

Position Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for providing coordination of the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This is a clerical position which is the first line representative to the hospitals and surgery centers and is responsible for scheduling appointments and operative procedures. This position works as a team member of the clinic.Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care
- Verifies insurance benefits
- Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization as required
- Coordinates and schedules patient appointments to include pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments
- Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings

Essential Functions

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Trials Operations
Clinical Research Managers (CRM) are responsible for the oversight of their disease group’s clinical trial portfolio and all related regulatory, compliance and performance metrics requirements.
The CRM will oversee the processing of protocols through DFCI Institutional Review Board (and other institutions’ IRBs) when appropriate. The CRM will collaborate with the DFCI Clinical Trials Office (CTO), the Office for Human Research Studies (OHRS), and the Office of Data Quality (ODQ) to fulfill local and federal requirements governing human clinical trials.
The CRM will Identify and manage operational, logistical, and regulatory challenges related to the conduct of clinical trials and acts as a leader in overseeing their resolution.
The CRM will assist the principal investigator in developing the protocol budget, in collaboration with Research Administration and the Grants and Contracts offices. Work with grant managers and other financial managers in the reporting and accounting of these funds.
Oversees and coordinates the purchase, receipt, inventory and distribution of equipment utilized in the conduct of clinical trials.
In collaboration with clinical research administration and grant managers, may maintain, monitor and reconcile all study and related grant finances. These may include budget development, expenditure tracking, procurement, salary offset worksheets and staffing.
Assists the principal investigator in preparing manuscripts for publication.
The CRM will collaborate with the DFCI CTO, and DF/HCC ODQ to develop study forms, database information, and to establish guidelines for monitoring data quality control for PI Initiated studies / Multi-Center Trials
The CRM will oversee the subject enrollment, protocol treatment and follow-up care processes for protocol patients.
Oversees registration of protocol patients with ODQ or OnCore policies and pharmaceutical company as outlined in protocol.
If applicable for coverage or trial assignments, responsible for data entry of study-specific activity, including but not limited to subject visit tracking, monitor visits, external site enrollment, amendments, receipt of Safety Reports, etc. into Clinical Trial Management System contemporaneously with activity completed.
Responsible for reviewing, approving, and reporting on data entry completed by supervised research staff in Clinical Trial Management System. The data entry oversight may include, but is not limited to, Subject Visit Tracking for subject-specific visits, time and effort spent on study-specific activities and other administrative tasks, etc.
Regulatory & Compliance
Assumes responsibility for essential document compliance for entire portfolio. Implements systems to monitor and ensure regulatory document collection and maintenance compliance.
Assumes responsibilities for all clinical trial reporting requirements; safety event, annual approval, deviations etc. Implements systems to monitor portfolio compliance.
Responsible for the disease group’s transition from paper to electronic regulatory binders. Will maintain per DFCI CTO standards.
Data Management & Clinical Trial Monitoring
Assumes responsibilities for data management and compliance for entire portfolio. Maintains schedules and procedures necessary for timely and complete data collection.
Regularly reports data compliance status to key stakeholders; i.e. DFCI PI, study Sponsor, DFCI CTO. Implements corrective action to maintain data compliance when necessary.
Submits required “progress / tracking” reports to key stakeholders, when applicable.
Staff Hiring, Supervision, Training & Development
Responsible for the recruitment and oversight of all of the research staff. Ensure that all staff complete required mandatory and ongoing training in a timely manner. Develops and oversees a program specific on-boarding and orientation process and conducts annual performance evaluations and competency assessments of research staff.
Develops a standard supervision schedule with research staff including periodic individual and group supervision meeting. Will develop and agenda, take attendance and document all applicable meetings.
Will communicate all personnel concerns to their immediate supervisor and to DFCI HR partner for the appropriate response and follow up.
COMPETENCIES:
Must be able to perform day to day responsibilities independently with little or no supervision from manager.

Job Description:
The Nursing Graduate works under direct line-of-sight supervision of the Registered Nurse in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.Scope

Minimum Qualifications

- Competently performs basic to advanced radiologic procedures including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures, if performed at assigned facility.
- Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.
- Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
- Identifies patient and labels images pertaining to the patient, compares requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy, and processes images ensuring quality of radiographs and calls back patients as necessary.
- Assists, communicates and consults with the physician(s). Works independently outside the department with providers.
- Prepares and maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Serves as a technical resource, role model and/or preceptor for students and staff. Acts as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system. Assists with accreditation efforts.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
