Additional Job Description:
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine seek a Full-time Emergency Medicine physician (MD or DO) qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate
Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Fairmont, WV at Fairmont Medical Center.
Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be
anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of emergency medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed an emergency medicine residency program, as
well as an emergency medicine fellowship program. Successful candidates must be ABEM board certified, eligible in WV. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
Shift Details: (Night Shift / 7p-7a position)
Essential Functions
- Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate). Seeks and evaluates information acquired from other members of interdisciplinary team: patient, family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, others.
- Plan: Uses assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plan of care. Actively seeks patient, family, team, and physician involvement to develop plan of care including needed education. Collaboratively plans and prepares patients for further support needs once the current episode of care outcomes are met (i.e., teaching, referrals, and follow-up).
- Implement: Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration as appropriate. Provides or delegates care consistent with plan of care, guidelines of care and professional licensure provisions. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources.
- Evaluate: Evaluates patient response to interventions through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient, and family satisfaction. Revises plan of care as indicated and reassesses changes as appropriate.
- Professionalism: Promotes nursing profession and participate in development of others. Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice, complies with regulatory standards, practices within scope of licensure, provides accurate & timely documentation, and understands legal implications of care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community and Rural Health Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance Manager provides system‑wide leadership for accreditation and regulatory compliance and readiness across the health system's community hospitals and Rural Health Clinics. This role ensures consistent interpretation and application of Joint Commission, CMS, state, and Rural Health Clinic requirements by planning, coordinating, and implementing efforts to maintain accreditations and certification. The manager oversees the development of standardized processes, guides leaders through compliance expectations, and oversees the monitoring if organizational compliance. The manager oversees a distributed team of site‑based compliance professionals who partner with hospital and clinic leaders, frontline staff, and disease‑specific program owners to assess compliance, identify gaps, and drive sustainable improvements. This position plays a key role in maintaining continuous survey readiness, supporting system integration efforts, and strengthening a culture of safety, accountability, and regulatory excellence across all locations.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Coordinates accreditation and regulatory activities for the Health System’s Community hospitals and affiliated care locations to ensure all entities are in compliance with required standards and maintains an integrated, consistent plan for continuously complying with all required TJC standards, CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and Kansas and Missouri regulations, as applicable.
- Coordinates compliance efforts for Rural Health Clinics throughout the health system.
- Manages the accreditation staff and oversees the daily functions of the Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance Department at community hospital sites and affiliated locations throughout the metropolitan area.
- Designs and implements a systematic approach to ensure a high level of awareness of accreditation and regulatory agency requirements throughout the hospitals.
- Implements an ongoing organizational needs assessment for regulatory compliance and makes recommendations based on the assessment.
- Identifies educational issues related to accreditation and regulatory compliance and designs and implements staff education plans to meet those opportunities. Assists in education of the Medical Staff related to regulatory compliance.
- Leads continuous readiness efforts and coach others in the development of accreditation improvement capabilities. Provides direction to department and facility leadership in planning of a systematic, organization-wide approach to continuous regulatory readiness.
- Coordinates regulatory compliance and accreditation activities as assigned.
- Coordinates compliance with the CoPs. Stays abreast of current developments/changes in CoP requirements. Develops and recommends necessary plans of action to the appropriate department(s) and follows implementation to completion.
- Participates in the development and implementation of policies and guidelines as they relate to the hospital and compliance with regulatory guidelines and assist in the interpretation of these policies.
- Manages and provides oversight of accreditation and regulatory compliance activities to ensure ongoing readiness for unannounced surveys by TJC, and Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Cultivates and manages organizational relationships with accreditation organizations.
- Directs preparation of written responses and development of corrective action plans regarding The Joint Commission, CMS and other regulatory recommendations.
- Serves as a coordination point and resource for hospital accreditation, certification, and licensure requirements as set forth by Federal, State, and local regulations.

19. Processes refund requests received from third party payors, clinical departments, other areas of Revenue Cycle, and leadership.
20. Monitors accounts that fall within out special billing guidelines (i.e. cosmetic, bariatric, IVF, plastics, etc.) to insure pre- payment application is done within a timely manner.
21. Works with the appropriate accountants to maintain a list of all unclaimed property, and maintain a spreadsheet for submission to the state.
22. Takes calls from registration and customer service staff experiencing issues with cash drawers, and works to resolve the issues.
23. Insures all refund requests are received from accounts payable, and processes the checks for submission to third party or guarantor.
24. Maintains current knowledge of payor payment provisions and all local, state, and federal collection laws.
25. Contacts insurance company or employer to determine eligibility, benefits, and payment information necessary to refund or distribute payments

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. Performs various functions associated with the computer system to assure proper collection and documentation of patient specimens.
Patient Registration including Patient Identification and verification, Patient Look-up, enter patient demographics, insurance information, guarantor, PCP, ordering provider, order tests, enter diagnostic codes, ordering provider following established policies and procedures for patient identification and verification, registration, test orders, medical necessity, and document scanning.

Verifies identity of patient following established procedures and proper patient preparation prior to venipuncture such as fasting or special diet.
Obtains blood samples from patient according to venipuncture or capillary puncture technique. Alerts nursing staff or supervisor to any deviations from puncture or adverse patient condition. May collect other types of specimens (throat culture etc.). May require processing of samples to include centrifuging samples and specimen tracking.
Obtains samples for specialized tests (thyroid Releasing hormone, therapeutic drug monitoring, and D-Xylose tolerance). Verifies volume and timing of dosage. May monitor patient as assigned to observe reactions, including Diaphoresis, sleeping, etc.
May be required to perform bleeding times.
Labels, wraps and transports samples according to type and urgency of sample. Maintains records on sample procurement.
Performs duties according to hospital policy and universal precautions.

The Emergency Department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a Level I adult and pediatric trauma center that provides emergency healthcare for all types of injuries and illnesses, from life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks or strokes to flu and viral illnesses. The Emergency Department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist not only one of the first Emergency Medicine training programs in the country but continues to create the future of emergency care through patient care research and resident education. Our team consists of more than 30 board-certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, experienced emergency nurses, sexual assault nurse examiners, forensic nurse examiners, social workers, case managers and other specially trained staff. The Adult ED offers diverse assignments such as Super Track, Standard Medical, Trauma Bays, Behavioral Health, and the Clinical Decision Unit. Expectations We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
- 2 years of ED experience preferred

Job Summary
The Hospital Quality Manager will manage the hospital quality and patient safety program. The manager will supervise others within the hospital in clinical robust process improvement supporting evidence based practices, the reduction of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse outcomes.
