At Banner Medical Group, you'll have the opportunity to perform a critical role in the community where you practice. Banner Medical Group provides both primary and specialty care throughout the communities in which Banner Health operates. We do this in a variety of settings - from smaller group practices like our Banner Health Clinics in Colorado and Wyoming, to large multi-specialty Banner Health Centers in the metropolitan Phoenix area. We currently have more than 1,000 physicians and more than 3,500 total employees in our group and are seeking others to enhance our ability to deliver our nonprofit mission of providing excellent patient care.POSITION SUMMARY
This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.
2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations
3. Calculates and collects patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits and expected reimbursement. Explains and provides financial policies and available resources for alternative payment arrangements to patients and their families.
4. Enters payments/charges for services rendered and performs daily payment/charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork sent to centralized billing for record purposes.
5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.
6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.
7. Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.
8. Provides a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow including but not limited to escorting patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in patient treatment, distributing mail and fax information, ordering supplies, etc.
9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a fast paced, multi-task environment with high volume and immediacy needs requiring independent decision making and sound judgment to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient’s care. This position requires the ability to retain large amounts of changing payor information/knowledge crucial to attaining reimbursement for the services provided. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third party payors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.
Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience with the Company’s systems and processes is preferred. Previous cash collections experience is preferred.

Collaborating with nursing leaders and other facility managers and departments, the nurse manager is key in ensuring excellent patient care, achieving financial objectives, and fostering leadership development. The position is accountable for developing departmental structure, processes, and outcome standards, typically for one unit. The job duties are distributed as follows: 50% Tactical (day-to-day activities like staffing and equipment availability), 40% Operational (budget management, supply acquisition, and employee performance evaluations), and 10% Strategic (developing goals to meet the Intermountain/Regional Strategic Plan and holding employees accountable to these goals).
Scope:
Level 1 Nurse Manager:
• Manages <50 headcount or manages a department operating Monday through Friday.
Level 2 Nurse Manager-Complex:
• Manages >50 headcount or more than 2 departments and manages a department operating 24/7.
Essential Functions
This role encompasses a range of responsibilities that report to a Nurse Director. The responsibilities include overseeing the clinical nursing environment, contributing to strategic planning, day-to-day operations, and standards of care. The role involves facilitating collaborative problem-solving, advocating for resources, promoting shared decision-making, and implementing the organization's vision and values. Additionally, the responsibilities encompass managing budgets, ensuring employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and competency verification.
- Champions the use of available resources to ensure nursing care is efficient, effective, safe, and delivered with compassion, in line with current practice standards.
- Facilitates collaborative decision-making and upholds professional independence by contributing departmental perspectives to executive decisions and ensuring staff are updated on activities at the executive level.
- Assists with development, implementation and management of annual capital/operating and personnel (FTE) budget for unit. Uses resources effectively and manages expenses to meet financial goals of department.
- Models and fosters an environment of professionalism and employee engagement on the unit.
- Ensures competent and sufficient number of staff to meet patient care needs, which includes hiring, orientation, retention, and employee satisfaction.
- As delegated, ensures that new skill training and ongoing competency verification is completed annually by providing mentorship and professional educational opportunities.
- Evaluates staff competency through use of performance reviews and peer reviews.
- Coordinates performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives, federal, state and other regulatory bodies such as Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DOPL, and other unit specific accrediting and certifying bodies.
- Facilitates use of resources by nursing staff such as nurse practitioners, other expanded role RNs, and other specialty roles.
- Serves as an exemplary figure for employees, promoting the integration of Healing Commitments and Healing Connections within all facets of providing patient care.
- Monitors and improves patient satisfaction utilizing available service metrics and national benchmarks to develop and implement action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Partners with physicians at the unit level to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
- Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology programs. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) based on modalities in which they will be conducting work and licensure by the state regulatory agency as applicable. As of August 1, 2019, all Multi-Modality Technologist's hired on or after August 1,2019 will be required to have an advance certification by an accrediting body in a specialty if applicable. BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience. Must be actively working in each certified modality, in accordance with the needs of the facility. The Multi-Modality Technologist I will be required to rotate and cover department scheduling as needed and required in areas where obtained certifications apply. Conducts routine needs analysis and determines the optimal inventory levels for each item. Tracks and maintains all Consignment items.
4. Daily assesses upcoming schedules for procedures and other sources for future supply needs. Orders specialty items and coordinates the receipt, storage and delivery of these items. Is available after normal business hours to answer questions from the Clinical department to assist with sourcing needed supplies.
5. Promotes and monitors cost containment and encourages conversion to System standardization of products and equipment. Works with vendors, gets quotes and makes recommendations for purchases. Attends system product evaluation meetings to relate the needs of the departments regarding product comparison substitution and availability. May also participate in the planning of supplies, equipment and materials for new construction move-ins and re-models.
6. Receives and reviews vendor sales order sheets for specialty supplies and equipment and verifies cost, quantity, usage etc. prior to payment to ensure vendor is paid in a timely manner. May also provide assistance with requests from Revenue Integrity to provide pricing support.
7. Oversees and maintains an inventory file and implant log, i.e. pace-makers, artificial joints, bone/tissue implants, etc. using the available tracking system, software and designed process. This work is performed based upon the individual facility needs and as agreed by Supply Chain and the Clinical department.
8. Uses the MMIS system for ordering, tracking, charging and usage reporting; updates the MMIS system files and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures; provides assistance with New Technology or BCAP requests.
9. This position may report to a senior manager or director. Incumbents are often called upon to procure specialty equipment in stressful, emergent situations. Internal customers are materials management, nursing, technical staff, and surgeons. External customers are equipment and supply vendors. May assist with interviewing, selection, and orientation of support staff as it pertains to procedural area support staff. Coordinates the daily work environment and prioritization of responsibilities for the procedural area support staff. Provides routine feedback to supervisory personnel regarding observations as it pertains to the procedural support staff’s ability and performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires business, math and communication skills, knowledge and abilities as normally evidenced by an associates in business or procurement, or equivalent experience and training. The position also requires skills and abilities typically acquired with 2 years of experience in a Healthcare Clinical area (Surgery, Cathlab, IR Lab, Endoscopy), materials management, or related area. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and a working knowledge of surgical supplies and equipment.

As a Float Pool RN, you will play a vital role in the assessments and plans of your patients at Banner Desert Medical Center. This position is part of Clinical Care Operations, which is the hub of patient management for the campus, including bed assignment, unit staffing, house supervision, emergency preparedness (code events and internal disasters), and patient transports. Education Qualifications
- Pharmacy Required Meets educational requirements established in the state of practice
- Graduate of accredited Pharmacy program; eligible for Pharmacist licensure in state of practice.
- Residency preferred.
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of practice or is eligible to apply for pharmacy board exam/state of practice licensure is required.
- If not currently a Licensed Pharmacist in state of practice, must obtain within 180 days of hire.
- Board Certification is preferred.
