Come to a department with heart and about heart. The Medical Progressive Care Department (PCU) at Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix provides a solid cardiac foundation that creates an outstanding cardiac nurse who can leverage this experience to advance in areas such as the Intensive Care Units (ICU), Emergency Department (ED) and Operating Room (OR). PCU nurses are highly recruited for their critical thinking skills, which are developed through the acuity of patients we care for. We are currently seeking experienced PCU Nurses but at this time are accepting applications for those that have Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical or any other acute or critical care background.
As a Medical PCU Registered Nurse, you will care for a wide variety of patients, such as heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, pre-heart transplant, NSTEMI, and pre & post cardiac device (AICD, pacemakers) and offer treatment modalities such as ultrafiltration (used for HF patients no longer responding to diuretics). Our academic model and teaching orientation supports learning at all levels, and is truly a collaborative environment between nursing, physicians and other therapies. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our Nursing Clinical Ladder Program, a tool that recognizes nurses that demonstrate contributions to patients, profession, and society above and beyond job requirements.

This opening is for a FULL-TIME Day Shift opening and will require 3 shifts per week from 7am-7:30pm, with weekends and holidays included on a rotating basis. This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient’s response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a high-level strategic contributor that serves as the super user, designer, problem solver, and evangelist of key customer experience technology products. Acts independently or as a leader of a team to design, redesign and implement customer-obsessed processes and digital products that will transform the way Banner does business today and in the future. This position must be an expert at the technologies used to deliver those experiences and be deeply familiar with the databases and data flows that make those experiences possible. This position leads cross functional teams that dictate how, when, and where technologies are used.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Serves as the primary liaison between business and technical partners. Maintain relationships with leaders and stakeholders across multiple departments, including customer experience channels, clinic operations, hospital operations, service line leaders, digital business, IT, data warehouse, and Human Resources. Will intake and prioritize requirements from all stakeholders and communicate appropriately.
2. Translates and documents customer needs into actionable designs and business requirements. Understands root cause issues with current operational processes and develops new processes and scalable technical solutions that lead to reliable positive outcomes. Defines, documents, and designs required changes to resolve system and process deficiencies. Completes discovery and analysis on current state processes in the customer experience process to document gaps and opportunities for improvement. This is done through observation, interviews, process mapping, customer journey diagrams, data flows, and other tools.
3. Designs workflows and operational processes that deliver the best experience while reducing costs, unnecessary work, and manual intervention. Designs must be highly reliable, scalable, and able to handle disruptions and variability in both volume and complexity.
4. Conducts technical product analysis and reviews what the currently owned technology is doing, what it could do, and identify what gaps may be present in the current technology stack. Will conduct research on products and technologies in the market that may better solve the problem.
5. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves complex project deliverables ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality. Collaborates with key stakeholders to design, develop and implement scorecards and dashboards metrics to monitor ongoing progress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong technical and business knowledge as typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field and at least five to seven years of experience in the customer or operations technology field.
Strong experience in designing and using technical products, using databases, customer relationship management data, email/text automation, or electronic health record systems is a must. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into digestible terms for business and leader consumption. Must be comfortable with public speaking in front of large audiences. Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with conflict and manage relations that balance system needs and entity priorities. The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. Unit Description:
The Cardiothoracic PCU Unit (6EW) is a unit specializing in the care of adult post-surgical cardio-thoracic patients. In addition, the patient population consists of those recovering from the standard coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve replacements to the cutting edge minimally invasive robot assisted bypass and lung resection. Some of the surgical cases you will care for include those recovering from: heart and lung transplant, thoracotomy, major resections for cancer of the lungs and esophagus, Complex aortic surgery, including aortic dissection, Valvular heart surgery, endovascular repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) lobectomy for lung cancer and for resection of mesothelioma (extra pleural pneumonectomy). Staff on this unit have specialty training in the management of patients placed on the total artificial heart and left ventricular assist devices to treat end-stage heart failure. This program is Joint Commission Certified, and one of only a few in the state to offer this highly innovative treatment option. Patient care is achieved through teamwork from a dynamic group of highly skilled nurses and technicians and in conjunction with physicians from Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Vascular Surgery, and Oncology, licensed mid-level practitioners, case managers, social workers, and therapists to offer the latest in multidisciplinary care. This is for a Day Shift, 7:00AM -7:30PM.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. Unit Description:
For this role you have an exciting opportunity to be part of a new PCU unit, opening April 2027. As a RN New Grad on this unit, you will be caring for a wide variety of medical and surgical patients, many with complex needs and multiple co-morbidities. You will work with a multitude of service lines such as, but not limited to, cardiology, infectious disease, pulmonology, vascular surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, gastroenterology, nephrology, and trauma. This is a fast-paced unit and is a great place to build on your skills. Candidates will orient on another PCU unit and then move into their home unit when it opens next year.
POSITION SUMMARY

The Cardiothoracic PCU Unit is a unit specializing in the care of adult post-surgical cardio-thoracic patients including patients recovering from the standard coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve replacements to the cutting edge minimally invasive robot assisted bypass and lung resection. Surgical cases include heart and lung transplant, thoracotomy, major resections for cancer of the lungs and esophagus, Complex aortic surgery, including aortic dissection, Valvular heart surgery, endovascular repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS) lobectomy for lung cancer and for resection of mesothelioma (extra pleural pneumonectomy). Specialty training is provided for the management of patients placed on the total artificial heart and left ventricular assist devices to treat end-stage heart failure. This program is Joint Commission Certified, and one of only a few in the state to offer this highly innovative treatment option. Patient care is achieved through teamwork from a dynamic group of highly skilled Nurses, Technicians and in conjunction with Physicians from Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Vascular Surgery, and Oncology, licensed mid-level Practitioners, Case Managers, Social Workers, and Therapists to offer the latest in multidisciplinary care.

As a Registered Nurse working in the Dialysis Department, you will provide hemodialysis services for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. Understands and adheres to all applicable USP compounding guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently performs calibrations of equipment and accurately measures components for compounding. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
7. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Understands all regulatory requirements for receiving, compounding, repackaging, and distribution for controlled substances. Consistently adheres to all storage and inventory movement documentation requirements for controlled substances.
8. Becomes proficient in performing compounding and labeling of intravenous non-hazardous compounds using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile populations (adult, pediatric, and neonate). Completes all required environmental cleaning procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.

Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. You will work alongside a group of dedicated physicians and staff that perform some of the most state-of-the-art procedures that exist anywhere in the country. Virtually tour one of the state-of-the-art units at Banner-University Medical Center Tucson.
For this role you have an exciting opportunity to be part of a new PCU unit, opening April 2027. As a RN on this unit, you will be caring for a wide variety of medical and surgical patients, many with complex needs and multiple co-morbidities. You will work with a multitude of service lines such as, but not limited to, cardiology, infectious disease, pulmonology, vascular surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, gastroenterology, nephrology, and trauma. This is a fast-paced unit and is a great place to build on your skills. Candidates will orient on another PCU unit and then move into their home unit when it opens next year.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. As a Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology, you will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patients through complex cancer care. This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
In a Home Health setting, team members must be able to operate personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license. Auto insurance coverage is also required to be active and maintained.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral or BUMG, BUMCT in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
