Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours, and no medical benefits package is offered. This position is for Banner University Phoenix Medical Center.
The WCEI, WOCNCM or ABWM certificate is required for this position. Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes employment, criminal and education) are required. Currently the schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM, no weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position applies specialized knowledge to assess, develop, implement, and develop patient care plans for a specific patient population. Integrates specialized knowledge into patient and staff education, consultation, and coaching to enhance and develop patient care for a specialized patient population.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Manages and influences the quality of patient outcomes and clinical care through application of specialized knowledge. Collaborates with staff to integrate quality and cost improvements in clinical care.
2. Provides specialty focused nursing consultation on complex patient cases. Evaluates patient needs and makes recommendations for treatment, implements interventions, and evaluates outcomes.
3. Serves as a specialized clinical resource to patients, families and staff to advance the quality of care.
4. Identifies opportunities for staff development and learning through formal and informal training and education, as appropriate.
5. Stays current on developments within area of specialty and integrates findings into practice, policies, and procedures.
6. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare or related field.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Requires current certification in specialty area of practice such as wound/ostomy care, diabetic care, or pain management.
Must possess a strong knowledge of specialty area as normally demonstrated through 2-3 years of experience in the clinical area of specialty. Requires critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and opportunities for staff education. Must have effective verbal and written communication and education skills, good organizational and facilitation capabilities, and strong leadership and mentoring skills. Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating referral orders for a continuation of treatment, such as specialty services and diagnostic testing within a primary care practice. This position provides all pertinent clinical information needed for the payor authorization and the facility or specialist prior to the services being rendered. The position is responsible for tracking and managing all referrals with the intention and outcome to close any patient care gaps, along with providing documentation to promote team awareness.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Schedules appointments for specialty physician services and diagnostic testing per provider request and communicates with the patient on a timely basis for all scheduling requirements
2. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers and staff members for patients’ referral and follow up needs. Provides prompt and professional service for the patients by assisting in educating patient/family and assisting patients with external resources when needed.
3. Provides all pertinent clinical information needed for the payor authorization, the facility or specialist prior to the services being rendered by verifying coverage, obtaining authorization and communicating with receiving facilities
4. Tracks and manages all referrals by monitoring outstanding referrals at 30/60/90 day intervals and following up with patients if appointments are not kept
5. Applies knowledge of medical terminology and maintains up to date knowledge of insurance environment. Utilizes internal and external resources to seek knowledge about regulations regarding various payor sources
6. Collaborates with outside referral sources and other community resources. Maintains an updated list of community resources and networks with colleagues to develop additional referral sources
7. This position has frequent communications with patients, physicians, staff, and third party payers. The position must work with and understand the concepts of managed health care and be able to prioritize tasks within established guidelines with moderate supervision
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Possesses 1 year of direct patient interaction/experience in a medical, insurance, or healthcare related industry.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Strong customer service focus and willingness to problem solve. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Must be proficient with commonly used office software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous knowledge of managed care concepts. Working knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 and CPT codes.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

This position is responsible for installing, repairing, calibrating, preventative maintenance, electrical safety and performance verification, bench and field service on most medical equipment at the board/module level with assistance or direct supervision. Travel across multiple sites may be required.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Installs, repairs, and calibrates clinical equipment at a component level. Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards and manufacturer’s recommendations.
2. Performs scheduled/preventive maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and quality assurance consistent with applicable regulatory standards on assigned medical equipment in a timely manner.
3. Repairs patient care equipment, medical communications equipment and PCs to board/module level through and understanding of electronics theory and applications including operating systems and PC repair. Reads detailed electronic schematics. Troubleshoots equipment using available test equipment. Monitors the work of outside contractors/vendors engaged in equipment repair.
4. Provides customer relations and resolves equipment service problems by ensuring that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible. Maintains communication with customers regarding the status of equipment repairs. Proactively solves technology issues when appropriate. Coordinates/schedules service (self, vendor and, when appropriate, other technicians) via management of customer expectations. Our Cardiac Catheterization Lab is high acuity, specializing in percutaneous interventional procedures of the heart. Procedures include angioplasty, stent placement, rotoblators, and structural heart repairs. BUMC-P has a very robust Structural Heart program and performs procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair and left atrial appendage closures are done in this area. BUMC-P has 4 interventional cardiology suites, 3 EP suites and 2 hybrid ORs. The Cath lab team is comprised of highly skilled professionals that include special procedure technicians, registered nurses and interventional cardiologists. The RN is an integral part of the team and is responsible for many duties in the Cath lab, including circulating, monitoring and documenting the case. Under the direction of the physician, the RN is responsible for procedural sedation and maintaining patient safety during the procedure.

Effectively using all systems related to Talent Acquisition (TA), including the applicant tracking system.
3.Coordinate required paperwork to deliver to Clinical Education, so appropriate skills/training courses can be scheduled on required dates. Working closely with these teams to ensure we receive the proper clearances and training is scheduled, rescheduled or cancelled as needed, and in a timely fashion.
4. Processing, tracking and reporting of Employment Eligibility Verification. Ensuring candidate has completed properly, for a smooth onboarding experience. Providing excellent detail with a full understanding of process. Detail and attention needed to process correct documents through E-Verify. Working closely with the audit team and assist with any issues that arise daily. Scanning and auditing of all verifications. Assist with entering in Permanent Resident Cards reverification for current employees.
5. Conducting face to face onboarding workshops, while being a resource to answer any questions via email/telephone. Delivering one on one communication for candidates, ensuring that they are well informed on the company basic information and expectations, to ensure a successful first day. May develop itineraries while the candidate is on-site and ensures that all participants in the process are kept informed of their schedule and any necessary revisions.
6. Continual follow up with multiple teams and candidate to ensure all requirements are met by deadlines. Once clearance is established, connecting with varies team members to align next steps, to include applicant, recruiter, hiring manager, security, Clinical Education and HR. This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.

5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
8. Based on area of assignment may assist with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides comprehensive care coordination for patients as assigned. The intensity of care coordination provided is situational and appropriate based on patient need and payer requirements. The goal is to empower the patient and the family to participate to the fullest of their abilities in the discharge planning process. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing personalized coordination, clarification and communication of all administrative aspects of care including patient needs assessments, insurance and authorization verification, registration, maintaining and handling of documentation, and scheduling of appointments. This position partners with the clinical care team to ensure a seamless experience for the patient and their family across the entire continuum of their treatment. This position assists with providing resources to help the patient maintain optimal care. This position performs follow-up tasks identified during the patient needs assessment for management of patients across the healthcare continuum or when the patient is in the continuum and needs additional resource support.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs patient intake process, which may include pre-registration/registration. Partners with the clinical care team to determine initial authorizations needed based on the predicted care treatment plan. Obtains patient insurance benefit information for all aspects of the treatment, including, but not limited to, inpatient and outpatient services, prescription drugs, and travel and housing, if necessary. May also answer questions regarding the authorization process and supply information to providers, patients and third party payors.
2. Acts as a resource for insurance coverage, which may include obtaining authorizations and notifications throughout the patient’s treatment. Obtains all necessary signatures and documentation required by the patient’s insurance plan. Accurately and completely documents all information into the patient records system to ensure maximum reimbursement. Monitors and updates information regarding insurance data, authorizations, preferred providers and changes in patient’s treatment plan. Partners with the clinical care team and insurance provider to ensure continued coverage of patient’s care and maximum reimbursement and minimized financial impact to the patient.
3. Provides administrative support in maintaining materials such as documents, proposals, routine correspondence, spreadsheets, composing and preparing routine reports, and maintaining records in a variety of business software and database applications for electronic medical records, billing, data management.
4. Schedules physician appointments, tests, procedures and surgeries and may provide patient with necessary preparation instructions. Prepares, processes, and manages patient documentation to department database . Acts as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and payor to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns.
5. Optimizes patient experience by using effective customer service. Communicates continually with patients, other departments, referral networks and providers to ensure appropriate plans and protocols are followed. Uses discretion and is attentive to issues of customer confidentiality. Demonstrates skills in pro-active resolution and attempts to resolve scheduling conflicts.
6. May manage the medical record for the assigned area, including coordination with hospitals, practice offices and other ancillary services to obtain needed records. Responds to patient referral requests for tests, procedures and specialty visits. Follows guidelines and may assist in developing procedures to ensure that medical records are in compliance with all state and federal laws. May also reconcile charge tickets, identifying incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis codes. Notifies clinical staff as needed.
7. Works independently under general supervision, following established procedures. Uses knowledge and problem-solving skills to work independently in a clinic/physician practice environment. Responsibility for ensuring efficient coordination of administrative functions supporting patient needs assessments, insurance and authorization verification, registration, maintaining and handling of documentation, financial counseling, and scheduling of appointments. Internal and external customers include patients and their families, physician offices, third party payors, vendors, clinical staff, ancillary staff, therapist, nurses and case managers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

POSITION SUMMARY

4 North (4N) is a vibrant and fast-paced environment in which nurses have multiple opportunities to care for a variable population of patients. With 32 beds, this progressive care unit offers a unique combination of medical and surgical areas, proving it a dynamically active environment to work at. 4N is primarily focused on caring for progressive care patients, such as those that are recovering from cardiac events, strokes, and diabetic ketosis. In addition, 4N provides post-surgical care for a variety of specialties including ortho, urology, and general surgery.

Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
In a Home Health setting, team members must be able to operate personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license. Auto insurance coverage is also required to be active and maintained.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, Banner Home Care/Hospice or Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility. Employees working in the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit must possess an Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working in any Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health role in Arizona must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
