JOB SUMMARYPerforms all CT procedures in accordance with established department policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.

The CT Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is a 6-month training program that provides asynchronous online coursework and in-person clinical training for prospective CT technologists. Coursework focuses on clinical procedures, patient care and safety, anatomy and physiology, and physics and instrumentation. Lectures are provided by VUMC faculty and staff--which includes physicians, physicists, technologists, and administrators. The curriculum includes a comprehensive board review course prior to taking the national certification exam (ARRT(CT)).
Online coursework enables working professionals to fit CT education around their own schedules. Though students are expected to adhere to a pre-established timeline, much of the coursework is self-paced. Students are expected to spend up to 4 hours per week on didactic coursework. Clinical rotation shifts are coordinated between the CT Program and VUMC Radiology. During imaging rotations, each student is designated to a single, independent work assignment supervised by a board-certified technologist. Proficiency in clinical competencies is required during rotations.

Qualifications:
Certification in CT is a post-primary specialty. Qualified applicants must have certification in at least one of three primary pathways: radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. Specifically, the program accepts students who have the following certifications:
Radiography (X-ray) Tech: R.T.(R)(ARRT)
Radiation Therapy Tech: R.T.(T)(ARRT)
Nuclear Medicine Tech: R.T.(N)(ARRT); CNMT (NMTCB)

Sign On:
$7,500 Sign On, paid out over 18 months.
The sign-on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective imaging.
• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
• Provides appropriate CT screening process to patients, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
• The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Radiology (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with radiology. (Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency to perform limited radiology and/or limited sonography services as directed by licensed healthcare team member)
• Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Compliance (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates and basic knowledge of the core rules, regulations, instructions and guidelines as they apply to assignments. Knows who to go to for further explanation and support. Understands which bodies regulate the industry.
• Patient Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with patient documentation.

JOB SUMMARYAssesses nutrition status of patients, including performance of a nutrition-focused physical exam, and identifies nutrition diagnoses. Develops, implements and evaluates outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients at nutrition risk. Initiates changes in care plans as needed. Provides nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and the community. Trains dietetic interns and other health care students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses nutrition status, including performance of a nutrition-focused physical exam, and implements nutrition care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses for patients with common medical conditions, using the Nutrition Care Process and standardized nutrition terminology in documentation.
- Identifies patients who meet the criteria for a medical diagnosis of malnutrition and documents criteria in the medical record.
- Writes, accepts, and implements medical nutrition therapy and nutrition orders in eSTAR, including diet and infant feeding orders and enteral nutrition orders, according to the VUMC Standard Operating Procedure and RD/LDN Scope of Practice.
- Monitors nutrition progress and reassesses nutrition status of patients/clients with common medical conditions, adjusting the nutrition care plan when needed.
- Provides nutrition counseling and education to patients, families and caregivers, and the community, using evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and appropriate instructional methods and tools.
- Conducts nutrition telehealth, real-time HIPAA-compliant interactive audio and video telecommunications with patients, and monitors telehealth technologies for HIPAA compliance.
- Trains dietetic interns and other students by planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating clinical experiences and/or teaching classes.

Conducts patient interviews, physical examinations, and data collection in order to accurately identify nutrition problems and to contact the patient's care provider related to nutrition interventions. Essential Functions
- Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures according to protocol. Obtains arterial gases. Oversees and troubleshoots the operation of equipment for optimal patient care. Initiates Respiratory Protocol according to department criteria. Initiates interventions based on the interpretation of assessments.

Utilizes time effectively to achieve productivity standard, including utilizing low census time when patient load does not support full productivity.
- Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff and takes appropriate actions. Participates in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback.
- Promotes the profession of Respiratory Care and acts as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff within department and patient care areas through development of others.
Participates in quality improvement and research activities as part of the Respiratory Care Team to guide the development of standards of patient care. - May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program is required. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
- Current license as Registered Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers is required.
- Specific certifications as required (i.e. PALS, ACLS, NRP) is required.

Mobile Phlebotomist is an experienced phlebotomists responsible for accurate collection and handling of patient laboratory specimens for diagnostic testing in Intermountain and non – Intermountain facilities and various non-medical settings according to established best practice that enhanced patient and caregiver engagement.The Mobile Phlebotomist is part of a group of Caregivers who travel to provide phlebotomy services to patients in settings such as contracted care facilities, patient homes, and health fair settings. This position is responsible to accurately and compassionately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing while working in a professional, medical environment. They communicate closely and frequently with other members of the team, checking in throughout the day. Caregivers in this role will gain valuable experience and knowledge to help prepare them for workplace and career advancement.
Essential Functions
- The Mobile Phlebotomist performs specimen collection using many different techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections. These caregivers collect specimens from patients of varying acuities by traveling to settings such as contracted care facilities, patient homes, and health fair settings. They are at the forefront of patient care and adhere to and enforce the standards for laboratory compliance and safety regulations.
- Safely travel to contracted facilities and/or patient homes to perform collections and are highly skilled competent caregivers as they operate independently with little or no on-site support for difficult collections.
- Adherence to personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including but not limited to gowns, gloves, lab coats, face shields, and masks.

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
8. Based on area of assignment may assist with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.

Our Torrington Community Hospital is looking for an Environmental Services Associate where you can bring your compassion for providing a clean, sanitize and safe environment. As a Housekeeping/ EVS Associate you will be joining a cohesive well-oiled team that we like to call family! The Environmental Services team is a high performing, close knit and diverse group of men and women. As a member of the environmental service team, you will ensure the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.
This is a PRN role, where you would pick up shifts to help cover vacation and sick time to support the team. Shift times would be anywhere from Monday-Friday 5:30am-11:00pm or Weekends 6:00am-7:00pm.

This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures. Must plan the completion of these tasks daily.
2. Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen. Empties trash containers and removes all trash. Empties all medical waste containers, including sharps.
3. Inventories, restocks and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etcetera, located in all assigned areas of the facility.
4. Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary. Protects equipment from damage by proper use; properly logs out and in equipment that has been used.
5. May perform special projects such as: windows washing, wall washing, removing heavily soiled items or furnishings.
6. Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors. Meets or exceeds goals for customer service satisfaction.
7. Under regular supervision, this position has responsibility at an assigned facility/area only. Internal customers include facility staff, physicians, nurses, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers, and executives. External customers include visitors, patients, and employees from other company and non-company facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision. Must be able to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally. Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals, and able to fill out chemical identification stickers.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working at Olive Branch Senior Center must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

At Houston Methodist, the Sterile Processing Coordinator position will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Sterile Processing department and service line, as appropriate, to include ensuring new employees are properly oriented and trained, monitoring work flow and volume of the work, and reviewing and maintaining department supply needs. This position is responsible for the monthly schedule and daily shift assignments, staff performance evaluation feedback to the appropriate manager, and assists in the development of the departmental budget. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily activities and personnel involved with decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, reprocessing and sterilization of instrumentation and assembly of case carts for the unit. The Sterile Processing Coordinator will maintain consistent and continuous workflow between the Operating Room (OR) and Sterile Processing and is responsible for assisting Manager in meeting all regulatory requirements for the unit related to these activities.

EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
EXPERIENCE
- Six years of Sterile Processing experience in an acute care hospital
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required
- Sterile Processing certification: CSCST or CSPDT and
- Instrument Specialist certification: CIS or CSIS

- Coordinates and assigns, based on the acuity level of the Technician, processing services that are efficiently organized. Ensures instruments and supplies are decontaminated and reprocessed in a timely manner. Serves as the primary resource for staff in all areas of service that the department performs.
- Serves as a role model and mentor, facilitating teamwork, working in conjunction with the OR staff, to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts where applicable. Maintains consistent and continuous workflow between the OR and Sterile Processing.
- Communicates in an active, positive, and effective manner to all interprofessional health care team members, listens and responds to the ideas of others. Coaches staff in effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication. Initiates recommendations, collaborating with management, for improvement of employee engagement score.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates the daily interface between sterile processing, surgery, and materials management as well as other departments within and outside of Houston Methodist to ensure that supplies and instruments are available as needed for service lines, as appropriate. Partners with SP Liaison to prepare items in advance for the following day’s OR needs.
- Anticipates needs by ensuring that all supplies or instrumentation not routinely available within the department are obtained and ready prior to scheduled surgery cases.
- Plans and monitors staffing levels to ensure appropriate staffing at all times to provide excellent service. Regulates scheduling and department staff assignments based on the needs of the department. Provides daily reporting to management of needs, issues to be addressed, and all important information necessary to ensure department success.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as the primary quality assurance resource for the department through periodic set audits. Reviews and revises, as appropriate, policies and procedures which reflect knowledge of industry standards and recommended practices for sterile processing. Assures department performance follows Houston Methodist policies and procedures and guidelines/standards from pertinent regulatory agencies.
- Continuously assures the effectiveness of the sterilization process by using internal, external and biological monitoring systems appropriately, utilizing established department protocols and sterilizer manufacturers’ instructions for use.
- Ensures accurate tracking of all instrumentation in conjunction with the SP Liaison for specific service lines. Maintains and records accurate recordings of sterile area environment requirements per Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), OSHA, and/or Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) guidelines per institutional policies.
- Monitors, reads, documents, and interprets all parameters for all types of sterilizers to ensure proper function ((Steam, Ethylene Oxide (ETO) and Low Temperature Hydrogen Peroxide)).
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitors staffing levels against budgeted targets and adjusts to meet goals. Keeps management informed and involved, as appropriate, to proactively address staffing or other employee issues.
- Maintains the shift’s monthly schedule and daily shift assignments, provides input on staff performance evaluation, and assists in the development of the department budget’s needs
- Collaborates with Materials Management to identify supply needs and ordering of non-sterile items in need of processing.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads and identifies opportunities for practice changes and performance improvement. Investigates and incorporates evidence-based practices which are presented to shared governance and leadership. Supports change initiatives and adapts to unexpected changes

Identifies and assists department educator in scheduling of necessary in-services for department staff related to new products, changes in procedure, etc. Provides oversight for new employee preceptorships.
