Duties: Respiratory Therapist
Responsible for patient care assessment, critical thinking and knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Develops and implements effective patient care, treatment, and cardiopulmonary disease management. Provides respiratory therapy procedures and/or modalities in areas such as emergent, acute, surgical, chronic and/or ambulatory care settings for a variety of patient populations.
Required Qualifications: Respiratory Therapist
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory care required.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP) from the State of Nebraska required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the NBRC within two years of hire required.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by patient care area/unit or department dependent required.
Preferred Qualifications: Respiratory Therapist
• Based on position, prior experience in respiratory therapy preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Based on position, the ability to demonstrate competence with all ages preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Email preferred.
• Experience with patient care equipment and supplies preferred.
• Experience in electronic health record systems preferred.

SUMMARY:
The Botox Office Coordinator serves as the primary operational and administrative contact for a high-volume Neurology practice providing Botox treatments, EEG, EMG, infusion, and general clinic services across multiple ambulatory sites. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Botox program, including prior authorizations, medication procurement, specialty pharmacy coordination, buy-and-bill management, patient scheduling, and insurance verification, and acts as the central point of contact for providers, clinical staff, patients, vendors, specialty pharmacies, and insurance carriers.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coordinate daily administrative and operational aspects of the Botox treatment program across multiple ambulatory sites.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for providers and staff across multiple practice locations, and serve as a point of escalation for staff
- Facilitates daily workflow, including assigning work and creating staffing schedules
- Schedule Botox medication procurement, ensuring adequate stock levels for scheduled procedures.
- Identify medication sourcing requirements, including Specialty Pharmacy versus Buy-and-Bill procurement pathways.
- Monitor authorization expiration dates and treatment schedules to ensure Botox administration occurs within payer-required timeframes, including the standard treatment interval of three months and one day.
- Obtain, track, and maintain prior authorizations (PAs) for Botox and other specialty medications.
- Coordinate specialty medication ordering, delivery, inventory monitoring, and storage requirements.
- Act as liaison between patients, insurance carriers, specialty pharmacies, and Allergan.
- Educate patients regarding the Botox Savings Program and available financial assistance resources.
- Assist patients with enrollment applications and provide comprehensive follow-up throughout the approval process.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, referrals, and coverage requirements.
- Identify referral requirements and ensure validity of location, visit dates, and approved visit counts.
- Serve as the practice-level resource for coding questions and billing-related issues.
- Identify and track third-party claim rejection types and trends to support process improvements.
- Schedule and coordinate Botox appointments while ensuring compliance with treatment timing requirements.
- Notify patients of appointment changes and perform appointment confirmations.
- Coordinate provider schedules, room assignments, and daily clinic workflow.
- Communicate patient clearance status to providers and clinical staff prior to treatment.
- Support initial training and onboarding activities for new providers and staff.
- Assist with Epic template development, maintenance, and scheduling optimization.
- Coordinate communications between clinic leadership, physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and administrative teams.
- Coordinate activities related to clinical programs and practice initiatives.
EDUCATION:
- Associate degree preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare administrative, medical office, neurology, infusion, specialty pharmacy, or prior authorization experience.
- Experience with Botox coordination, specialty medication management, or buy-and-bill programs strongly preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system preferred.
- Experience working with insurance authorizations, medical billing, coding, and reimbursement processes preferred.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Available to cover shifts as assigned at any residential program, to include leaving one program to travel and work at another.
- Facilitate ADL skill-building for residential living and for community integration through supervising and teaching clients daily medication routines, budgeting, self-preservation skills, transportation, etc.
- Provide opportunities for skills practice and collaborative learning.
- Participate on a multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of client treatment plans and progress reviews, engaging clients whenever possible in the planning and evaluation process.
- Provide, coordinate and monitor treatment services for all assigned clients. Includes but not limited to contact with the client, as prescribed in the treatment plan; provision and coordination of care prescribed in the treatment plan through documented contact and implementation of assigned activities with client, client’s family, other Gateway staff, consultants and treatment plan designated staff from other human service agencies and medically oriented organizations.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of care provided by the program or through other service providers, by comparing service provided with service outcomes, as specified in the treatment plan.
- Provide shift coverage which includes but is not limited to carrying out the many functions of household maintenance, especially cleaning and meal preparation, assist in resolution of medical, psychiatric and behavioral crises, conflict resolution and symptom management.
- Attend supervision and team meetings as required.
- Maintaining current knowledge and updates of agency policies and procedures.
- Available to work first and second shift, holidays and weekends.
- Ensure Gateway office areas, residential programs are safe and secure via checking door and window locks and by knowing the whereabouts of all residence at all times during course of work shift.
- Schedule treatment plan meetings, facilitate treatment plan meetings, utilize assessment information, diagnostic results, medical record, client and family participation and participation of other human service providers to develop and document assessments and treatment plans/reviews in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
- Ability to screen for substance abuse and provide assessment with indicated treatment planning, counseling/education and referral.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
- Ability to remain in shift until appropriately relieved by another staff member. (This could result in working two consecutive shifts as designated by supervisor.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Summary:

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas. PALS required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU.- if RN is coming from a non-pediatric background, they have 30 days from date of hire to obtain PALS.NRP certification required for NICU – if RN is coming from a non NICU background, they have 30 days from date of hire to obtain NRP.
