Job Description:
To perform and respond to non-invasive cardiac EKG diagnostic tests on patients (inpatient and outpatient). To provide quality handling of test data, and to assist physicians in accurate testing. The incumbent will work with allied medical professionals, networked Intermountain Healthcare facilities, and physicians to provide quality EKGs.Join Our Team as an EKG Technician!

Essential Functions
- Perform exams per department protocol and demonstrate EKG competency.
- Complete studies within accepted time limits without compromising patient care or the quality of the exam. Complete orders and charge entry timely and accurately.
- Maintain a working knowledge of how to proficiently use the department’s equipment; Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and report any variance from normal that may impact function.
- Respond immediately to calls as appropriate by facility.
- Notify physician if critical values are identified during the test, as per Critical Value Policy.
- Ensure proper patient identification by using two patient identifiers and review patient chart to confirm correct procedure order, prior to performing.
- Provide patient education as needed and ensure patient comfort.
- Incumbent is responsible for being able to administer every test within the EKG Lab (including Holter, ambulatory telemetry/event monitors, blood pressure monitor, stress testing, and EKGs). Must provide technical assistance and monitoring of all exercise treadmill studies as appropriate by facility.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have and maintain current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
- Must take and pass the Intermountain Healthcare EKG course and pass off associated skills within four months of hire (or take the first class offered after hire date)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior patient care or customer service experience.
- Prior EKG technical or interpretation experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The Security Officer provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees, and volunteers, typically in an office or ambulatory clinic setting. This position is responsible to monitor visitor or patient activity, monitor the premises in and around the facility , enforce policy, provide assistance and direction, respond to emergencies, and to provide protection for employees, visitors, and Intermountain property.Essential Functions
- Operates and monitors security technology systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems. Ensures proper functioning and maintenance of security equipment.

- The Phlebotomist I perform specimen collection using many different techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections. Job Duties

- Communicates issues regarding delays of tests results within the Laboratory to the House Coordinator and Emergency Department.
- Facilitates communication between labs and different departments within all Hospitals.
- Enters outside Home Health agency orders into Epic to ensure proper billing.
- Acts as the call center for the lab ensuring the proper transfer of calls as to not impede laboratory staff from their core duties.
- Receives laboratory supply orders for clinics, hospitals and external clients, and fills and distributes via lab courier.
- Discards outdated specimens following established guidelines
- Monitors and cleans equipment and performs appropriate quality control functions on glassware, checks pH levels and general surface cleaning.
- Performs water checks for detergent residue and autoclaves spore checks adhering to laboratory policy.
- Counts inventory weekly and checks expiration date according to proper procedure.
- Appropriately discard biohazard waste daily.

Central Sterile Processing is an ancillary department of the Operating rooms within a healthcare facility in which medical/surgical supplies and equipment, both sterile and non-sterile, are decontaminated, processed, sterilized, stored and used for patient care. All this takes place behind the scenes in a sterile lab type setting.

This position performs as an integral part of the OR team with limited supervision. Demonstrates accountability for operating room readiness ensuring sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable supplies are complete and ready for a procedure prior to the preceding patient leaving the operating room. Responsible for the proper care and handling of all general and specialty instrumentation including the cleaning, decontamination, disassemble/reassembly, quality assurance, instrument identification, set assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instrumentation for PeriOp Services, hospital departments, and clinics. This position requires well manner communications and the ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides decontamination and sterile processing support to PeriOp Services, ED, ICU, hospital wide departments, and clinics both on and off campus, and ambulatory surgery centers. Provides various levels of service for the management of sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable patient care supplies. Support may-or-may-not include, decontamination of surgical instruments, assembly/sterilization, sterile instrument storage, partial or complete case cart support, OR core tech support and high-level disinfection.
2. Responsible for the decontamination, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments following established protocols, instructions for use (IFU) as well as performs required quality assurance, repairs, reassembly, documentation, sterility handling, and storage of specialized surgical instruments. Maintains required sterilization logs and quality assurance records relating to all equipment associated for the purpose of decontamination, HLD disinfection, and sterilization.
3. Ability to identify interpret the surgical schedule and medical terminology as it pertains to procedures requiring sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable supplies. Able to address and communicate special needs to minimize delays to surgery. Responds to emergent calls from the Operating Room and performs preliminary investigations. Determines priority level of instrumentation requests and other hospital needs. Directs services in a competent and professional manner while assuring OR priorities are completed in a timely manner.
4. Able to differentiate surgical instrumentation that is surgery owned, consignment/loaner, hospital depart, surgeon, ambulatory surgery center, and clinics both on and off campus. Completes necessary tracking of surgical instruments with a paper log sheet or computer process for instrumentation leaving the area. Reports needed replacement of surgical instruments to maintain the inventory and support readiness of sets.
5. Utilizes specialized equipment for the decontamination, high-level disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation according to the device and equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and hospital policy. Operates steam and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers of various sizes. Operates automated surgical instrument washers, ultrasonics, flush pumps, visualization devices, and cart washers to include high-level disinfectors where supported.
6. Operates various quality assurance testing equipment associated to flexible endoscopic scopes, transesophageal ultrasound probes, and electro-surgical insulation defect detector for laparoscopic and energy provided surgical instrumentation. Utilizes heat detection devices to allow steam sterilized surgical instrumentation to be released for use without risking burns to staff and patients. Operates demagnetizers of stainless-steel instruments for ophthalmic and delicate cardiac surgical instrumentation for safe use on patients. Utilizes various borescope devices to inspect inner channels of lumened surgical instrumentation and flexible scopes.
7. Maintains a clean and safe environment by adhering to Standard Precautions and Infection Control practices. Staff follow protocols for proper donning of personnel protective equipment (PPE) while completing the decontamination process referencing IFU’s supplied by the manufacturers.
8. Maintain flexibility to rotate shifts and adjust hours as needed, maintain a work record of regular attendance, timely arrivals, and departures, maintain professional appearance appropriate to position and function.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Minimum one (1) year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
Requires national certification as an SPD Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) and relevant experience with sterilizing instruments which qualifies the candidate for the national certification exam or certified registration.
Must have mechanical aptitude with the ability to break down moving parts, clean, lubricate and reassemble, problem solve incomplete trays and missing instrumentation and have effective organizational, communication and human relation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Instrument management tracking system experience.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedure. Participants in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. Is proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares for surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments. Reviews case carts for correct instruments and supplies. Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and makes minor adjustments or calls biomedical equipment staff. Checks schedule and plans ahead for upcoming surgical case needs.
2. Anticipates the surgeon's needs. Passes instruments and retracts tissue. Maintains competency to scrub in a minimum of two surgical specialties.
3. Demonstrates the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure. Disposes of sharps and trash and places used supplies into case cart for processing. Participates in counting sharps, instruments and sponges. Prepares instruments for cleaning following each case.
4. Ensures that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
5. Assists with OR turnover between cases. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms.
6. Participates in or leads the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.
7. May provide business support to the department including administrative tasks.
8. This position follows safety procedures in regards to medication labeling, appropriate handling of specimens, appropriate handling of sharps, time-out procedure, radiation and laser safety, infection control, assembling and disassembling instruments. Participates in emergency call rotation. Is proficient to scrub on at least two surgical specialties. Internal customers are patients, surgeons, and nursing staff. External customers may include practicing physicians, patient families and vendors or sales reps.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
Certified as a surgical technologist OR two to three years of experience in a surgical technologist role. Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
This position must be able to scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties. The position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. - Communicates to nursing department to notify staff of patient transport which includes reviewing patient passport for completeness and understanding for clarification of handoff, checks patient identification using two-step verification, prepares patient for transport identifying IV bags, Foley catheters, or infusion pumps, etc., needing special handling.
- Maintains adequate supply of transport equipment in lobbies and equipment rooms, as appropriate. Clears equipment left on floors, in hallways and unauthorized areas by moving them to designated equipment storage areas or reporting the equipment to the dispatcher, as appropriate.
- Properly disposes of soiled linen on department and/or nursing unit and removes other items left on equipment such as urinals, bedpans, emesis basins, etc. Removes some equipment no longer needed for the patient care from the transport equipment and places it in the soiled utility room, as appropriate.
- Contributes towards improving department scores for patient satisfaction/experience on unit-based scorecard through peer-to-peer accountability and providing timely transports.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reports observations, conditions and problems of patients to licensed personnel to achieve desired patient outcomes. Provides for the privacy of patients and families, keeping the safety of the patient in mind.
- Disinfects equipment before and after each use, allowing sufficient time for the disinfectant to dry thoroughly.

The Director of Inpatient Nursing for the Adult Services and Emergency Department provides visionary leadership across assigned inpatient units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate care that aligns with Sutter Health’s commitment to patient-centered excellence. This leader is responsible for advancing clinical quality, enhancing the patient experience, engaging the workforce, and improving operational performance within maternal, newborn, and women’s health services.In collaboration with physicians, medical staff, and interdisciplinary leaders, the Director fosters a culture of teamwork, shared responsibility, and professional nursing practice. The role guides operational strategy and resource management to tackle complex challenges, optimize care delivery processes, and achieve measurable outcomes in quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Aligned with Sutter Health’s leadership competencies, the Director works with senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans, both short- and long-term, that support system and medical center priorities such as access, growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. Through structural empowerment, the Director promotes nursing autonomy, shared governance, professional development, and evidence-based practice to boost caregiver engagement and sustain high performance.
The Director establishes and oversees policies, procedures, and care delivery frameworks that ensure reliability, consistency, and patient- and family-centered care. Financial stewardship is essential, including developing and managing operating and capital budgets, responsibly allocating resources, and proactively managing financial performance and variances.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
12 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Advanced knowledge of nursing operations and workflows, and how the department’s process/workflow impacts other department operations.

Participates in and supports the overall operation of the pharmacy technicians, including staffing and work assignments of the technicians. Serves as the liaison between the department and staff, information systems, physicians, patients, family, and other site staff. Performs pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. - Knowledge and ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications.
- Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission, Title XXII, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
