Shift: Full Time, Day Shift (7a-7p)
5K DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
This 42-bed unit specializes in the care of Adult Surgical Patients. Registered Nurses are assigned to PODs to assist patients recovering from surgeries: Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, GYN Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Trauma Overflow. While working in this unit you will care for patients that have renal disease, diabetes, COPD, and heart failure for a well-rounded nursing experience. This is a telemetry-monitored unit. The average patient stay is 3-4 days. This unit also has 6 beds that are for Epilepsy monitoring and is the Living Kidney Donor Transplant Unit. Join our amazing team!
Overview
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position works as a member of the food service team on one or more assignments in cleaning, food preparation, patient trayline or retail café. Provides service and assistance to patients, staff and other customers in accordance with established dietary and retail cafe policies and procedures.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Sets up work station and prepares all assigned foods and nourishments in the correct quantities, following established procedures, portion control and food quality standards. Assures that food presentation continually meets standards.
2. Cleans and sanitizes dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses and cooking utensils. Also cleans and sanitizes designated equipment and kitchen areas disposing of all waste materials. Monitors dish machine temperature.
3. Maintains par levels of foods and/or supplies in assigned areas, orders and/or restocks items in accordance with established routines, rotates food stocks, checks expiration dates.
4. Checks and records food and equipment temperatures according to defined procedures, and reports any discrepancies to the supervisor.
5. May deliver meals, nourishments, late trays and/or tube feedings to units; return excess nourishments as requested. May also assist in catering or special event service.
6. May handle transactions at cash register (if applicable) and/or cafe.
7. This position interacts with other food service department personnel, hospital staff, patients and families. Requires the ability to follow a work routine with regular supervision, to work quickly and correctly while providing good customer service and maintaining sanitation standards. The work requires the ability to follow instructions and guidelines for the use of cleaning chemicals and be able to work in physical contact with them.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires the ability to learn and follow established policy and procedures, read and understand written and verbal instruction, to communicate effectively and to provide customer service. Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required. POS (cash register) when applicable.
For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required with 30 days of hire. For BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado, the food handlers' card is not required.

6. Assists in identification and implementation of operating improvements and efficiencies by identifying important trends and variances through the review of management reports and financial analysis. Educates users of the assigned financial reporting system on the utilization of reports and the functionality of those reports.
7. Provides education on available financial tools and resources and provides learning to non-financial staff so they can break down analysis in simple terms.
8. Assignments located in the Western region will have regional accountability and will provide financial analysis support for multiple facilities within the Western Region.
9. Uses specialized knowledge to analyze information and solve business problems. Works independently under general supervision. Provides management with accurate and timely information necessary to effectively manage financial operations for revenues in excess of $300m annually. Consults internally with Department Directors, Administration, Data Operations, Financial Services Department Personnel and Banner Health System personnel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Requires a proficiency level typically attained with three to four years of experience in healthcare financial management/analysis work. Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with changing needs and deadlines. Requires excellent human relations skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels staff and outside professionals.

Will maintain the database of clinical criteria, ensure technology and policy reviews are reviewed on an annual and ongoing basis to meet Federal, State and Accreditation Standards.
Will be proficient with the Healthcare Industry's changing National Guidelines, new medical treatments, and devices, and will compile information for the Plan related to clinical indications and use of the technology, alternative technologies that address these same indications, and clinical outcomes expected given the use of the technology.
Will perform a comprehensive clinical literature review, obtain legal and regulatory status of the technology, review Federal, State, and local coverage determinations, and identify current coverage policies and procedures.
Collaborates with Medical Directors and teams on clinical guideline/medical policy/regulatory guidance updates.
Education:
BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree in Nursing REQUIRED

This position independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients in a variety of health care settings.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
2. Applies and manages mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners, recommending adjustments to improve clinical condition, patient comfort and to expedite the weaning process.
3. Assembles, disassembles, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, cleans and performs adjustments in the applications of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in the delivery of respiratory care as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
4. Performs pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
5. Performs patient assessments and evaluates patient response to care provided, making recommendations to physicians regarding the plan of care, appropriate use of respiratory therapy and modification of therapy as clinical condition changes. 6. Communicates and collaborates with resource staff in formulating care plans, recommendations for change in therapy and identification/resolution of problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or technical degree.
Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). RRT required for all new hires to the position after October 1, 2015. Incumbents in the position as of October 1, 2015 must possess their RRT by October 1, 2017. A current license in state practiced as required by state law. In the state of Nevada, all incumbents must have their Blood Gas Technologist certification.
Banner Registry positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the specialty area.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required. In Home Care setting, must posses valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications and equipment as typically obtained through one year of clinical experience. Must possess highly effective human relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel. Periop Enterprise Coordinator Description:
Conflict resolve resource limitations from remote locations for multiple surgical locations to ensure seamless patient care delivery. Problem-solve and expedite communications with other health care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provide, delegate, and coordinate tasks needing to be expedited with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients. Ensure clinician satisfaction and resolve issues in a timely manner. Coordinate, implement, and evaluate processes to meet the educational and competency needs of team members through effective use of a variety of learning activities.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five years recent clinical experience.
Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills required.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading/supervising a health care team, or in a related area preferred.
Prior experience in a management/leadership position preferred.
Based on position, prior experience in one or more of the following areas including emergency department, cardiovascular, oncology, solid organ transplant, perioperative and special procedures in applicable nursing specialty area preferred.
Master's degree in healthcare related field preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork and flexibility preferred.
Ability to multi-task and work-through competing priorities preferred.
Ability to solve complex problems through a well-ordered approach preferred.
Ability to balance and prioritize diverse clinical and leadership responsibilities preferred.
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and English in some clinic settings preferred.
Previous work history in the logistics of complex environments including managing many resources to align good customer service preferred.
Magnet approved certification in related area preferred.
