- Consistently takes the necessary steps to ensure that protected health information remains private and confidential, according to established HIPAA guidelines. Uses patient identifiers consistently to properly identify patients and the correct medical records. Refrains from issuing new medical record numbers to patients with existing accounts.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital opened in June 2017. This 725,000-square-foot, full-service, acute-care hospital offers many of the same services as our flagship hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Also, on the beautiful hospital campus, located at the intersection of Interstate 45 and Texas State Highway 242, are two medical office buildings, which include a Breast Care Center; Cancer Center; infusion center; heart and vascular services; neurology; orthopedics and sports medicine; rehabilitation services; wellness services; an outpatient laboratory; and several other multispecialty physician practices. In January 2022, Houston Methodist The Woodlands opened Healing Tower — a $250 million expansion project that added 106 beds, focused on medical-surgical and women’s services, and provided nine operating rooms. The project also included the expansion of the endoscopy center, emergency department and diagnostic imaging department with an enhanced neurodiagnostic and interventional center.

The Radiologic Tech performs all radiographic examinations according to establish protocols set forth by the medical director. The Radiologic Tech maintains a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. The Radiologic Tech maintains knowledge and awareness of radiation protection and safety during all radiographic examinations. The Radiologic Tech prepares for and assists the radiologist with intricate radiographic examinations. The Radiologic Tech will prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and procedure as well as state and federal regulations
Essential Functions:
• Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information pertinent to the examination being performed, including correct patient identification and order verification.
• Assess patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Performs pre and post exam patient education pertinent to exam being performed.
• Produces images according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, at patients’ bedside, ER, and surgery with a high degree of accuracy,
• Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations to include use of lead shields, collimation, and determining pregnancy status of women of childbearing years
• Prepares for and assists Physicians with intricate radiographic examinations.
• Ensures examinations are performed, completed, and ready for physician interpretation.
• Attends and participates in department staff meetings and in-services.
• Takes an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities.
• Instructs Radiologic Technology students in the radiographic positioning, technique, and film critique.

18. Weekend call may be required as needed.
19. Certain duties cannot be assigned to the Courier because these duties or privileges can only be performed by pharmacists, interns, and technicians. These restrictions are regulated at state and federal levels and must be followed closely:
- Only pharmacists can receive oral prescriptions from prescribers or prescribers’ authorized designees.
(This refers primarily to new telephone prescriptions).
- Only pharmacists can consult with prescribers or prescribers’ designees about patients’ prescriptions.
- Only pharmacists can provide confidential patient information to other health professionals or insurance companies.
- Only pharmacists can check medications before dispensing them to patients. (In states where technicians can prepare or package prescriptions, they do so under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.)
- Only pharmacists can consult with patients about prescribed medication use and other health issues.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for scheduling surgical, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures using a computerized scheduling system. The position is also responsible for entering patient charges, orders, and other pertinent information into the system and compiling and reporting statistical information to management. The incumbent may act as an office liaison for department staff, physicians, and patient families.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Coordinates case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures in a computerized scheduling system. Verifies and reviews physician privilege status prior to scheduling. Interfaces with medical staff office to maintain log of current privilege status and maintains confidentially of all information. May acquire and maintain physician preference information and staff roster.
2. Acquires authorization numbers, History and Physicals, results of laboratory tests and verifies that they are current. Orders previous medical records for the day of the procedure, when necessary.
3. Types and prints physician orders for multiple physicians and departments. Schedules and maintains physician block time, and block time releases.
4. Enters physician’s orders for lab, blood bank, medical imaging, and cardiology. Enters results of diagnostic tests, patient registration information and patient charges. Compiles data and prepares statistical reports for management.
5. Conducts charge management audits for assigned area. Reconciles charge packet information with the audit. Identifies missed or incorrect charges and corrects when appropriate.
6. Acts as a receptionist to assigned unit; answers phones, relays message. Greets and directs patients, visitors, physicians, and families and answers questions about policies and procedures. Acts as a liaison among nursing units, physician and staff to relay patient data. Screens requests for patient information and refers to appropriate staff. Records and types minutes of staff meetings, when required. Prepares and distributes staff call roster each month.
7. Enters facility work orders and supply orders when required by assigned department. Requests repairs/maintenance for business machines in the department. Arranges for pickup and delivery of instruments and equipment and completes all necessary paperwork.
8. This position has responsibility for scheduling surgeries and procedures and maintaining a smooth workflow in the area. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, under stressful situations, set priorities and maintain highly confidential information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 2 years of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting. Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Also requires knowledge of payor contract terms and processes. Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Requires effective teamworking skills and the ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards.

$20.80 - $31.20A Patient Service Representative (PSR) is often a patient’s first impression of Advocate Health and frequently is the starting point and foundation for all Revenue Cycle functions. That work includes complete and accurate capture of information related to patient demographics, insurance coverage, and patient financial responsibility. The PSR helps prevent the loss of revenue and impacts operating margins through the accuracy and timeliness of their workflows. The PSR ensures mandated regulations are followed and patient satisfaction is optimized. The PSR plays a crucial role in connecting a variety of departments for the overall success of the patient’s experience and the organization’s financial success. Often works without direct supervision present.
Major Responsibilities:
Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record that is utilized by all members of the healthcare team. Prevents creation of duplicate medical records that can cause treatment safety issues and billing problems. Follows and ensures compliance with the mandate of the organization’s accrediting bodies to use identifiers to positively identify a patient prior to the delivery of patient care to ensure patient safety.
Checks in and registers patients; obtains and verifies complete demographic, guarantor, and insurance information; discusses and collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket patient responsibilities. Obtaining accurate information at the point of registration helps ensure timely payment to the organization and prevents billing issues and patient complaints. - Customer Relations
- Establishes and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external customers of the contact center.
- Attends staff meetings and provide reports, assessments as required.
- Participates in the development of quality standards and expectations.

- Continually improves technical and professional skills.
- Keeps current on emerging call center technology, read industry newsletters, and explore technology websites for information.
- Attends seminars hosted by the contact center industry.
- Under the supervision of the contact center manager, identifies and recommends vendors for product demonstration and pricing.
- Provides quality customer service.
- Shares new information with staff.
Education/Experience Required:
- Associates degree or equivalent 3-4 years of experience in a service related industry. Previous contact center and workforce planning and quality experience required. Competent statistical understanding.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrates and applies a strong understanding of functional aspects of call center operations. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Possesses in-depth knowledge of real time principles and strategies, including real time agent skill-based routing, occupancy, shrinkage, contingency planning, and call routing. Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful demeanor. Organized and able to set and manage priorities.
