As a Patient Service Representative (PSR), you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.   Â
As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:Â Â Â
- Patient Services: Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. Â
- Billing Services: Ensures entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information. Â
- Medical Record Services: Upholds standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records. Â

Our walk-in clinic is open extended hours, making it a convenient option to get care after hours or if you can't get in to see your primary care provider. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Â Â Â
- Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment, and in a crowded or closely shared workspace.  Â
- Exposure to ill patients.  Â
- Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers. Â
- Must lift up to 35 pounds without help. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Â

Position Summary
The Patient Access Technician (PAT) is an exciting opportunity at MultiCare, responsible for ensuring accurate patient admission and registration. This intermediate-level clerical position will allow you to apply your professional service-orientation, good judgment and independent thinking in your daily work functions.
Responsibilities
- You will assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations according to organization policy and procedures and regulatory requirements
- You will obtain inpatient bed assignments and processes inpatient admission, including arm banding, addressograph plate, and completion of necessary forms
- You will pre-admit all scheduled inpatient, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate a smooth and speedy admission/registration process
- You will obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the computer system in order to notify other areas
- You will complete comprehensive bedside or telephone interviews with the patient, relative, or their representative to obtain pertinent demographic insurance and/or third-party liability information
- You will perform eligibility verification and resolves any discrepancies, determine the need for financial assistance recommendation and application, referring to the Financial Counselor where necessary
Requirements
- Graduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access, Medical Assistance Medical Billing & Insurance
OR
- One (1) year of experience performing any combination of admitting, Health Unit Coordinator, patient registration, customer service or billing duties required; healthcare setting preferred

Position Summary
The Central Service Technician II works as a team member and is responsible for providing support to the total health care team at MultiCare Health System by cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, and transporting supplies and equipment. This position is a team member requiring a cooperative manner, working under direct supervision. Work situations are basically routine in nature yet require a service-oriented individual, organization of time and equipment, independent decision making in the execution of daily routine duties, and prioritization of multiple tasks. Internal contacts occur on a daily basis and may include patient care providers and Materials Management staff. External contacts are limited but may include patients, vendors, rental companies/agencies, other health care facilities, and physicians.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Completion of Central Service Technician course of study or completion of healthcare organization training program, as required by location; military training or experience satisfies this requirement for WA state employees, per Title 18 RCW

Responsibilities:
- You will manage basic care activities with a customer service oriented delivery of care to patients
- You will support the delivery of care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
- You will create and provide a safe and supportive environment for patients
Requirements:
- Current Washington State CNA license
- Current BLS Certification
- One (1) year experience in physician's office or other medical facility preferred
About Deaconess Hospital
Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is the only hospital in the area with national accreditation in bariatric surgery. Deaconess provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic and emergency services.

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.18 - $31.68 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
