Unit Overview:
Join the nursing team that is enjoying a beautiful, brand new 24 bed Medicine unit with new computers in every room and charting stations in hallways with windows to visualize patients! Blood pressure machines that talk with EPIC as Real Time Documentation. Patient population is cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and diverse wound care. Great unit to make your way into ICU or the ED!

Overview
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Department Overview:
Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical/surgical unit. There are 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate level of care. The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU. Also, there are 17 beds for Medical/Surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves). Our nurses are trained to work both the intermediate and the medical surgical side. The nurse to patient ratio for the Intermediate Care beds are 3 to 4 and for the Medical/Surgical beds are 5 to 6. The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.

This unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty. The 11-week Transition to Practice program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in IMC areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice.

Certification/Licensure Requirements
- Registered Nurse license required

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $36.00 - $36.00 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Overview:
TheCardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Advanced Practice Provider team at Sentara Heart Hospital (SHH) is seeking a full time APP to support our CSICU. This role is devoted to the care of the critically ill cardiac surgery patients in the ICU setting. The APP ensures best practices are implemented for the cardiothoracic surgery patients through all phases of care. Ongoing, active participation and evaluation of quality care initiatives, improvements, patient care outcomes, and overall effectiveness of the CTS program is required.
The ideal candidate is one with a dedication for high quality care and excellence in customer service. A cardiothoracic surgery background and at least two years of advanced practice experience in an acute care clinical setting is highly preferred. Critical care background preferred. Nights and rotating weekends.
Position Highlights:
- 100% Nights
- 3 shifts per week (6:45p – 7:45a) with at least 1 weekend per month
- Nationally recognized physicians, superior quality, and innovative technology
- >2300 cardiac procedures per year, including ECMO, thoracic, and heart transplant; no pediatrics
- 23-bed CSICU at 543-bed quaternary care facility for specialized care, offering a multitude of medical and surgical specialties; Level 1 Trauma Center
