Job Summary
Coordinates and maintains specialized advanced technical skills, monitoring patients ECG rhythms, interpreting results, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team as determined by department procedure.Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of a Telemetry Monitoring Technician education program or one (1) year of related experience required
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Knowledge of ECG rhythms, as well as knowledge of the monitoring system and the ability to review trends and alarms.
Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged and/or extensive sitting, standing, and walking.
Principal Accountabilities
Provides precise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on electrocardiographic central monitoring station, documenting per established procedure; interprets ECG rhythms, recognizes significant ECG events.
Escalates significant or life-threatening changes immediately, utilizing appropriate ECG algorithm, to a Registered Nurse, as appropriate; communicates information in a clear, concise and accurate manner to the responsible individual within established timeframe.
Obtains rhythm strips per hospital cardiac telemetry procedure; operates and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system; accounts for all monitors at the end of each assigned shift.
Admits, transfers, and discharges patient and enters all required information in telemetry monitoring system.
Provides and ensures the highest level of service according to established service standards, optimizing the patient experience.
Successfully completes MHHS dysrhythmia examination.
Performs other duties as assigned, within scope of responsibility and clinical competency.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.

The Medical Record Specialist will be responsible for a variety of duties which may include, but not limited to, the completion of birth certificates, chart preparation, scanning, document indexing, analysis, mail distribution and release of information function.

• Comply with the standard deadlines for requests with a 3-day turnaround at a maximum for customer requests from date of receipt to completion date to include burning CD and/or film upon request (CBS, Prime, Internal Auditor, Denial Management, ADR's, MyChart customer service.)
• Comply with standard deadlines for multiple requests with a 30-day turnaround at a maximum for customer requests from date of receipt to completion date to include burning CD and/or film upon request (Disability, External Auditor).
• Picks up and distributes mail to appropriate individuals and/or areas.
• Logs requests timely to assure a status update is readily accessible.
• Answers telephone calls in a pleasant voice tone and identifies department, individual name and ask how to assist the caller (handling a request, accepting and forwarding message accurately). Provides prompt return calls to customers leaving messages (with questions or status checks).
• Assures patient confidentiality of each patient's medical record (HIPAA compliant with patient identification being accurate whenever released for any purpose) Attentive to details and does a thorough review of what is being requested to what is being released.
• Greets and directs all walk-in customers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Comply with standard deadlines for multiple requests with a 2-day turnaround at a maximum for healthcare customer requests from date of receipt to completion date to include burning CD and/or film upon request (Physician's office, Hospital, Clinics).
• Reporting productivity weekly (utilized for payroll and staff needs).
• Other duties as assigned.

The RRT is responsible for a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures including ABG, PFT’s, and various forms of ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy and airway maintenance. You will be expected to be proficient with the respiratory assessment and respiratory treatment of both adults and neonates. These procedures are performed under the indirect supervision of the department’s medical director, according to departmental policies and procedures. The RRT must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, understanding and ability to care for patients of all age groups; and be sensitive to the diverse and unique needs of patients based on age, sex, race and culture.

Your Job Responsibilities:
• Performs respiratory therapeutics to include oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures to include arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation to include a bedside respiratory physical assessment, patient interview and a review of patient’s medical record.
• Perform appropriate actions using critical thinking skills.
• Must be able to interpret the CXR, ABG, and PFT’s when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots all cardiopulmonary equipment such as artificial airways, ventilators, oxygen analyzers, oxygen delivery devices and blood gas analyzers.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, business administration or related field.
EXPERIENCE
- Three years of financial, budget or cost accounting analysis experience required; experience in a health care environment preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Interacts with all levels within the department, other institutional departments, and across the organization as well as outside companies to resolve problems/errors or questions regarding basic accounting reconciliation items or financial performance in a timely manner.
- Serves as subject matter expert for assigned entity(s) (Hospital, Physician Organization, Research Institute, Academic Institute, HM Foundation, MOB, for Clinical and Financial reporting systems. Serves as role model and mentor to more junior team members. Supports training and onboarding of new team members.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists department administrator, faculty members or department, hospital leadership and entity leadership in managing the departmental budget.
- Extracts actual and budget financial accounting General Ledger (G/L) data or financial data from appropriate sources to report and reconcile with appropriate leadership. Generates accurate and timely reports.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews revenue projections, budget revisions, etc., for physician practice, academic department or assigned hospital or entity department(s)
- Develops, monitors and reports key system operational indicators and recommends improvements. Highlights performance issues, identifies problems and researches solutions. Makes recommendations to management for improvement.
- Follows all internal audit requirements for appropriate system applications.
- Utilizes/enhances tools to improve the accuracy of financial analytics and enhance revenue opportunities. Submits invoices and follow-up with industry partners as needed. In addition, prepares necessary journal entries for coordinator effort and Principal Investigator (PI) oversight as appropriate.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs one or more of the following: • Supports and develops auditing, reporting and contract modeling tools as needed for identification and analysis of rate and/or fee schedule auditing, financial performance and contract performance as well as modeling and analysis of potential opportunities. • Maintains monthly dashboard of key indicators and external benchmarks as defined by management. Prepares and maintains revenue models. Compiles information needed for organization profit and loss statement as required. • Reviews contracts, calculates provider productivity bonuses/compensation models as appropriate. • Assists in preparation of gift, grant and contract budget proposals as needed. Assists in the oversight of department’s financial files for all grant and donor funding. • Ensures/verifies that all faculty, staff and research personnel are charged to the appropriate funding source via submission of a salary re-allocation form as appropriate.
- Utililzes resources effectively and efficiently, demonstrating financial stewardship. Manages own time effectively and prioritizes work to achieve maximum results in a timely manner.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains and monitors procedures and Standards of Practice (SOP’s) for reconciliation process. Maintain working knowledge of hospital and physician compensation methodologies and affecting government regulations, as applicable. Identifies areas for improvement and makes recommendations to management. Seeks out opportunities to grow knowledge of cost accounting system, clinical trials management systems or others and their relationship to other financial and non-financial systems. Shares knowledge and learnings with team.
- Proactively manages own career development. Completes My Development Plan (MDP).
- Identifies and recommends opportunities to employ new or enhanced functionality in support of continued performance improvement. Develops and advances best practices and tools for business analysis.
