The Cardiovascular Tech RCIS primary responsibility is to assist with technical aspects of invasive cardiovascular procedures under the direction of the supervisor and physician.
Your Job Requirements:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
• RCIS certified within eighteen (18) months of date of hire
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS
Your Job Responsibilities:
• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during any procedure performed in the cath lab by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKG’s and operating physiologic recorder, and interpreting normal and abnormal pressures and wave forms.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under direction of physician.
• Assists physician with some diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status during a procedure, handing supplies to the scrub tech, and operating imaging equipment under the direction of the physician.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and demonstrates effective inventory control.
• Post procedure safety removes arterial and/or venous sheath, maintains hemostasis, and monitors patient status.
• Prepares lab for procedure by setting up for procedure and maintaining sterile technique.
• Prepares patient for procedure by shaving and prepping patient and marking arterial pulses.

- The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of designated patient care areas to ensure the delivery of efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality patient care. Working both independently and collaboratively with hospital leadership and corporate partners, this role provides operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for the site.
- Key responsibilities include managing daily operations, developing and maintaining staff schedules, and ensuring adequate staffing and equipment are available to meet patient care needs. The Clinical Nurse Manager is accountable for developing, managing, and monitoring departmental budgets to support operational and financial goals.
- This position also provides direct patient care as needed based on patient volume and staffing requirements. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, annual evaluations, employee development, and corrective action for clinical staff.
- As the department's clinical expert in emergency nursing, the Clinical Nurse Manager serves as a resource and mentor to staff, promotes evidence-based practice, and supports quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Licenses and/or Certifications:

The Department of Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH) in the Texas Medical Center seeks an accomplished Breast Surgeon and academic leader to serve as Section Chief of Breast Surgery within the Division of Surgical Oncology and Gastrointestinal Surgery and Medical Director of the Breast Program at the Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center (HMNCC).
This is an opportunity to lead a system-wide academic breast surgery program at Houston Methodist Hospital, which is ranked No. 19 in the nation for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report. The successful candidate will be clinically based at HMH and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of breast specialists, including radiologists, pathologists, reconstructive surgeons, and medical and radiation oncologists.
The Section Chief/Medical Director will provide clinical, strategic, and academic leadership for the breast program, with responsibility for program development, quality improvement, multidisciplinary care, and education. Responsibilities include participation in breast tumor boards, teaching general surgery residents and medical students, and developing breast surgery curriculum and conferences. Shared, limited surgical oncology/breast surgery call coverage is available, if desired.
Qualified Candidates
Candidates should have significant surgical leadership and administrative experience and demonstrated expertise in the management of benign and malignant breast disease. Fellowship training in breast surgery and/or complex general surgical oncology and American Board of Surgery certification are preferred. Highly experienced breast surgeons without formal fellowship training will also be considered.
Houston Methodist offers protected academic time and institutional support for clinical research, clinical trials, education, and other scholarly pursuits, with academic appointments available through Houston Methodist and Weill Cornell Medicine.
Academic appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level.

- Serves as the front door of Houston Methodist interacting with new and established patients providing them with information needed to schedule and register multiple services for Houston Methodist. Utilizes computerized scheduling/registration systems, verification systems, and online applications while balancing departmental resources. Obtains required data in order to support departmental and hospital clinical/financial needs.
- Triages calls for the System Patient Access Center as appropriate to other areas as received on a daily basis while working under the guidelines and scripts as set forth by management. Provides patients with information needed to prepare for appointment per Center/Service protocol. Encourages patients to enroll on the Patient Portal and provides PIN numbers, complying with HIPAA regulations.
- Follows established protocols directly as indicated by management and physicians on applicable platforms on an as needed basis and consistently utilizes multiple software applications to schedule appointments.
- Keeps open channels of communication with all parties involved, including physician, patient, and service areas, regarding action taken and resolution. Promotes a friendly and professional customer service environment.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Coordinates the workflow to assist patients with appointment scheduling and/or requests for services: • Collects and compiles data/information from patients such as insurance documentation and patient identification information to help facilitate an appointment. • Screens and assesses patient calls received and assures that the patients are scheduled for services as requested by referring physician or upon patient’s request. • Schedules patient appointments. • Efficiently completes registration. • Answers incoming calls from patients. • Acts as liaison between the patient and the physician or clinical staff. • Handles calls from physician offices or hospital departments, always making sure to maintain a good relationship and obtain all necessary documents needed to support the scheduling process.

- Obtains and enters accurate scheduling and registration data, including but not limited to patient demographics, insurance, guarantor, and clinical information on the information system in order to initiate financial clearance activities (benefit eligibility and verification, pre-certification notification and payment review). Documents patient’s accounts with information related to any potential issue(s) that could result in service delays or cancellations due to the lack of financial clearance.
